CDS(Combined Defence Service)Eligibility criteria & Exam Pattern2016
CDS UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) managed CDS examination two times in a year. Through this Combined Defence services, students can get the entrance in the three armed forces Army Forces, Navy Forces and Air Force. Defence jobs, is all about serving nation with courage. Large amount of students want to join Defence jobs. Its become a dream for students. . With the help CDS exam is kind of dream come true. After clear the CDS examination, candidates get the admission in armed forces by services selection board.
Eligibility criteriaNationality: A candidates must either be:
(i) a Citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Bhutan, or
(iii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the1st January, 1963with the intention of permanently setting in India, or
(v) a person of India origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India.
Age limit:For Army Forces:19 years to 24 years
For Navy Forces:19 years to 22 years
For Air Forces: 19 years to 23 years
OTA, from 19 to 25 years.
Educational qualificationArmy Forces Academy: Degree in any discipline from a govt. Affiliated university or equivalent
India Navy Academy: Bachelor of Engineering
Air Force Academy: Degree of a govt. affiliated University and 12th class with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.
Exam pattern Combined Defence services examination, conducted by UPSC. Various vacancies are recruited by UPSC in three armed forces. To get admission in Indian Army, Navy and Air Force academy. It consists of three subjects
English General knowledge Elementary mathematics
Each section consists of 100 marks with time duration 2 hours.
