CEBRA SEEKS A NEW HEAD OF ABU DHABI BRANCH CEBRA is seeking an ambitious architect to lead our fast growing office in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) starting in October 2016. CEBRA is experiencing a growth in projects in Abu Dhabi and the entire UAE region. Would you like to bring this strategic focus even further and sharpen it? Are you a visionary and passionate architect with focus on innovative business development? Your primary task as the new Head of the Abu Dhabi Branch will be to consolidate and develop CEBRA’s presence in the region, to develop our network and to create new projects in close dialogue with current and future clients. As head of the Abu Dhabi Branch, you will • Be an important part of the management of CEBRA • Define the strategy of CEBRA in the region in collaboration with the CEBRA partners • Be part of the development of design strategies • Be the point of contact for our clients, who are among the most important and visionary in the region • Be part of the vibrant, international, cultural hub in UAE CEBRA job requirements • You have a minimum of 8 years of experience working in an architectural office and job experience from a similar position with an international dimension • You are an ambitious, curious and open-minded architect • You can commit yourself in cross-cultural teams • You are fluent in English • You can stay in the job for a minimum of 2-3 years About the CEBRA Abu Dhabi Branch CEBRA set up the branch office in Abu Dhabi in 2015 after winning the international competition for a prestigious cultural project in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The project includes a masterplan, a public park, a cultural centre with a theatre, a library and exhibitions, and a transformation of one of the most important cultural monuments in the region. Recently, CEBRA has published a new school project in the Sustainable City in Dubai. Additionally CEBRA won the competition for the Centre for Early Childhood Development in 2013. In addition, the office has won a prestigious competition on Saadiyat Island - the region’s major cultural focus, where other leading international architects are currently building the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. All CEBRA’s projects in the UAE are carried out in close cooperation with the Aarhus office. CEBRA partners will continue to travel to the Abu Dhabi office and some of the employees from the Aarhus office will be working at the Abu Dhabi office for short and long term periods. The current Head of CEBRA Abu Dhabi Branch, Mikkel Schlesinger, has set up the branch and since May 2015 he has been living in Abu Dhabi with his family. He will be permanently based there until returning to Denmark in December 2016. Starting in the office October 1st 2016 would make it possible to work closely with Mikkel for two months, getting introduced to our clients and network before taking over in December. The current staff is a great mix of Danish, American, Indian, Spanish, English and Emirati architects and project managers matching the international crowd in Abu Dhabi. If you have a family, this will be a natural part of the contract negotiation.
