• 95% of parents said they were satisfied overall with Head Start• Parents overwhelmingly agree that staff treat them with courtesy and respect
Award-winning Staff
•Coretha Bynum-Dabney received the 2010 PNC Bank Early Childhood Education Award at the St. Louis American Foundation’s Salute to Excellence in Education•Harriet Foiles, Disabilities Coordinator, won the State, Regional and National Margaret Coughlin Memorial Award for Head Start Coordinator of Disability Services
Improved Classroom Environments
• The quality of every classroom has improved (based upon the Infant Toddler and Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scales).
• Average ECERS scores rose to 5.58 in PY09-10 from 4.22 in PY08-09.
• Average ITERS scores rose from 4.24 in PY08-09to 5.31 in PY09-10
Healthy, Vibrant Program Sites
Howard Branch was reaccredited by Missouri Voluntary Accreditation in May, 2010.
Expanding the Reach of Programs
•Afterschool Program expanded to 7 schools; serving over 200 children.•Launched Early Head Start program serving 20 infants/pregnant mothers and their families.
Family Advancement
•Continued to report using new outcomes system to report on increased family stability•Incorporated HPRP contract into existing outcomes system•Increased follow up using Americorps Workers

Recognition for Excellence
•Grace Hill Settlement House was awarded the Quality of Life Award by the St. Louis Development Corporation.•Rod Jones was honored as Non-Profit Executive of the Year by the The St. Louis American Foundation, St. Louis RCGA, and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis.
College Hill Project•Initiated and led the College Hill Collaborative of Service Providers•Established neighbor work groups to involve neighbors in the betterment of their neighborhood•Collaborated with Midwest Bank to establish a home loan program for North St. Louis•Homeless forum with City of St. Louis with 70 service providers to coordinate services to the chronically homeless
