The iNetwork Innovation Awards are an important opportunity for local public services to celebrate and share leading practice and recognise the valuable work of peers. With 50 entries across seven categories this year, competition was fierce.

Eager to hear the winners, 130 representatives of local public services, including finalists and sponsors, gathered on 18 November for a dinner and awards ceremony at the Albert & Victoria Hotel in Manchester.

As the highlight of a buzzing evening, nine awards were presented for innovation with impact in the field of public service delivery. Darra Singh, partner at EY, presented the Outstanding Contribution Award with Steven Pleasant,

Mr Pleasant said: “It has been such an amazing evening. It demonstrates how committed people are and how hard and creatively colleagues are working to support their communities.”

Despite the competitive tension, many people said they felt inspired by the atmosphere and finalists. Chorley DC leader Alistair Bradley (Lab).

The awards were open to any of the 120+ iNetwork member organisations; 1,400 votes were received during the short voting window with the final decisions being taken by public sector peers involved with iNetwork or national programmes.
