I am excited and blessed to have the opportunity to serve as your full-time Associate
Pastor. I see Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church as a vibrant and growing center
of God’s purpose working to reach those within our walls and within the local and inter-
national community. Jesus tells us in
Matthew 28: 19-20, “Go therefore and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to obey everything that I
have commanded you.”
My goals include continuing to develop
programs such as Grief Share and Parents
Night Out, to continue to strengthen our
ties within the community, and to
connect us to resources such as the
Health Initiative program with Vidant
Medical Center.
I believe that as we explore and develop
together ways in which we may Know,
Grow and Go, we will see the fruit that
comes from lives connected to God
through Christ Jesus.
Definition of the word Rummaging

These small heroes have brought in 456 books and raised $205.21 to go to the Building Hope Community Center this week. Thank you to all the volunteers and youth who helped to make this year’s Vacation Bible School a huge success!!

We will be celebrating the gift of Christmas in our morning
worship services on Sunday, July 23. We will focus on the
gift of peace, which God gives us in Jesus. There will be
something a little special for the children, too. We’ll sing
Christmas carols and hymns, remember the gift of God
coming to us in the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, and take
time to remember the wisdom declared in Phillips Brooks’
famous carol. “How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift
is given; so God imparts to human hearts the blessings of his
heaven. No ear may hear him coming, but in this world of
sin, where meek souls will receive him, still the dear Christ
enters in.” (O Little Town of Bethlehem) Come and cele-
brate the birth of Jesus in worship. Invite your neighbors,
friends and family to join us. Agape boxes will also be distributed.
