Obituary

Helen “Doll” Williams, born on September 5, 1935 in

Elberton, GA to the late Albert Williams and Jessie Mae

Fortson. She was the first of two siblings. She was a bless-

ing to all she came in contact with.

She worked as a housekeeper in the hotel industry. Ms.

Helen’s warm and loving personality, her helpful ways and

kind generosity won her the love and friendship of many.

When you were in her presence, you never went hungry, she

fed everybody, and what a wonderful cook she was. Thru her

cooking, she won the love and respect of many young people,

she always had a word of encouragement for them.

Preceding her in death was her daughter Gwendolyn Elaine

Allen.

She is survived by nine children, daughters: Mickye Jackson,

Savannah, GA, Jennifer Jackson, Stone Mountain, GA, Ver-

lita Rucker of the home, Portia (Thomas) Moon, Michelle Wil-

liams both of Elberton, GA, Camilla Williams, Bowman, GA;

sons: Patro Williams, Decatur, GA, Ciro (Avis) Williams,

Stone Mountain, GA and Spiro Williams, McCormick, SC; a

brother Kevin Fortson, Chicago, IL; 16 grandchildren; 32 great

grandchildren; two special cousins: Mildred Paggett, Decatur, GA

and Corneli Williams, Chattanooga, TN; one great-great grand-

child; a life long friend Miss Gal.

Twenty-Third Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;

He leadeth me beside the still waters. He

restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the

paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of

the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for

Thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they

comfort me. Thou preparest a table before

me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou

anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth

over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow

me all the days of my life: and I shall dwell

in the house of the Lord forever.
