“Devotion to Our Lady is carried throughout the day, at the rosary, and also at Mass and the Divine Office in the hymns and chants recorded here. May she lead us with you to the Kingdom of Heaven” -Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles

The Benedictines of Mary, Queen of the Apostles have hand-crafted our beautiful vestments for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form. They have also recorded several CDs, including “Advent at Ephe-sus”, which we offered and which rose to the top of the charts in December. We are very happy to now offer a CD that the Sisters recorded in 2011 with some of the most well-loved hymns to the Blessed Mother. The CD is avail-able for $15 downstairs after Mass. It includes the Salve Regina (chant), Magnificat (chant/polyphony), O Quam Glorifica (chant), O Sanctissima, Immaculate Mary, Hail Holy Queen, Ave Maria (Ravanello), Tota Pulchra Es (both the chant and Lassus versions) and seven other Marian hymns. Proceeds support these wonderful Sisters as well as our growing community.

RECESSIONAL HYMNRECESSIONAL HYMNRECESSIONAL HYMNRECESSIONAL HYMN All my hope on God is founded; he doth still my trust renew, me through change and chance he guideth, only good and only true. God unknown, he alone calls my heart to be his own.

Mortal pride and earthly glory, sword and crown betray our trust; though with care and toil we build them tower and temple fall to dust. But God's power, hour by hour, is my temple and my tower.

God's great goodness e'er endureth, deep his wisdom, passing thought: splendor, light and life attend him, beauty springeth out of naught. Evermore from his store newborn worlds rise and adore.

Why don't the Sundays at the Traditional Latin Mass match the Sundays of Ordinary Form Parish Masses? Why don't the Sundays at the Traditional Latin Mass match the Sundays of Ordinary Form Parish Masses? Why don't the Sundays at the Traditional Latin Mass match the Sundays of Ordinary Form Parish Masses? Why don't the Sundays at the Traditional Latin Mass match the Sundays of Ordinary Form Parish Masses? The Traditional Latin Mass uses a different Liturgical Calendar than the Ordinary Form Mass. While there are many similarities, there are a number of differences that can be jarring if one is not prepared. Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter seasons all occur at the same time. However, the Sundays may be called different names or have different themes. For instance, while most churches were celebrating the Baptism of Our Lord, we were celebrating Holy Family. While most churches were celebrating the Holy Family, we were celebrating Sunday within the Octave of Christmas. When most churches are celebrating the 5th Sunday of Lent, we will be celebrating

Passion Sunday. Also, Christ the King falls on the last Sunday of October, not the last Sunday of the Liturgical year (the week before the first Sunday of Advent). One should be attentive to their liturgical calendars to avoid pit falls. To help with this, we have also created and are offering our own 2013 Traditional Latin Mass Family Calendar (available at the Conviviums) that has the Extraordinary Form calendar listed for every Sunday and Holy Day throughout the year.

What happened to Ordinary Time? What happened to Ordinary Time? What happened to Ordinary Time? What happened to Ordinary Time? In the Ordinary Form of Holy Mass, Ordinary Time (which is in Latin Tempus per annum meaning "Time through the year") is the liturgical season established after the Second Vatican Council which begins immediately after the Christmas season, is interrupted by Lent and Easter and then continues after Pentecost until Christ the King. In Ordinary Time, the Church cele-brates the earthly ministry of Our Lord. In the Extraordinary Form, the Church calls these same Sundays the "Sundays after Epiphany" and "Sundays after Pentecost." Whenever there are not enough Sundays after Pentecost (in the Liturgical Calendar) to make it to Advent, the Church cele-brates the weeks after Epiphany that were not celebrated earlier that year between the 23rd and 24th Sundays after Pentecost. On the Sundays after Epiphany, the church is extending Christmastide by showing how Christ is manifested by his preaching and miracles. In the Sundays after Pentecost, the Church continues the work of redemption, guided by the Holy Spirit she has received. Ordinary Time and the Sundays after Epiphany and Pentecost all have Green as their liturgical color. Why does Easter sometimes occur early some years and late in other years? Why does Easter sometimes occur early some years and late in other years? Why does Easter sometimes occur early some years and late in other years? Why does Easter sometimes occur early some years and late in other years? The Church calculates the time of Easter by the following formula. It is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox. The vernal equinox (March 20th or 21st) marks the official beginning of spring. This manner of calculating the date of Easter was established so that the Church would be able to use the standard Julian calendar to calculate Easter instead of using the Jewish Calendar to calculate Passover. This formula is not used by Eastern Churches who have their own method of calcu-lating Easter. This year, Easter Sunday is on March 31.
