An Idyllic Garden Venue in the heart of the Hampshire Countryside

Nestled in the heart of Hampshire barely forty miles from London, West Green House Gardens offers four seasons of beauty, contrast and inspiration. Created by acclaimed garden designer and writer, Marylyn Abbott, it is one of England’s finest manor house gardens, marrying traditional style with contemporary design. It’s a garden for all seasons and a unique venue for private events.   Filled with flowers and natural light, the Greenhouse is an enchanting setting for a special party. The original Orangery, built in the 1770’s, is a delightful and intimate space for smaller groups. While both the Lakefield and Apple Orchard offer a spectacular backdrop for a large-scale marquee event.   The garden encircles the 18th century baroque house, and boasts its own lake, moongate, nymphaeum temple and Chinese chicken garden, complete with pekin bantams. Guests are free to enjoy the grounds and it provides a picture-perfect setting for photographs. The quintessential kitchen garden yields a wealth of delicious homegrown produce, which is put to good use by the experienced team of chefs. Rhubarb is particularly abundant, inspiring West Green’s own indulgent rhubarb ice cream   Whether you’re planning a wedding, anniversary, christening or birthday, our capable events team will be on hand to make sure your party is seamlessly organised. From the planning stages to the day itself, we’ll make sure it’s an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.

Private Events in the Garden!The garden’s flower filled Greenhouse is available for private hire, a beautiful setting for your party.

Alternatively for larger parties, a marquee in the old orchard beside the Greenhouse or in the Lakefield can be arranged. The 1770’s Orangery is a special private venue for parties of up to 20 people.

The Greenhouse is suitable for parties of up to 80 people for a seated event or 100 people for a canapé

reception. Smaller parties can hire a section of the Greenhouse.

The Marquee, The Greenhouse or The Orangery are available for hire between 11am -11pm on any day of the week from the beginning of March to early December.

Hire of chairs, loos, marquees etc. are all additional to the hire costs and must be organised by the West Green House team. A list of our preferred suppliers is available.

A non-refundable deposit f 50% of the venue hire price is payable on making the booking

Flowers: Our in house florist will pick flowers from our famous garden and create stunning country-style flower arrangements for your tables. Price supplied on request.

Music: To create the perfect atmosphere we can engage musicians. A classic trio costs from £300.

Menu Options for Parties

Starters Beetroot, orange and watercress salad served with a balsamic and beetroot dressing

Avocado, mozzarella and tomato salad served with a pesto and basil dressing

Homemade minted pea soup with crème fraiche

Main Courses

Pan fried corn fed chicken breast stuffed with apricots and herbs and wrapped in pancetta, served with a port wine jus and a selection of seasonal vegetables

Roasted fillet of pork with a café au lait sauce served with home dug potatoes and seasonal

vegetables (picked from the garden when possible)

Fillet of salmon with a tarragon mayonnaise served cold with a seasonal salad or hot with seasonal vegetables (picked from the garden when available)

Desserts

Lemon tart served with West Green rhubarb ice cream

Meringue served with seasonal fruit compote and cream

Please note we cannot accommodate a mixture of selections and the whole party must have the same

starter, main and dessert. We can of course cater for any vegetarian, gluten free or dairy free diets.

Canapés Six canapés per person served with a glass of sparkling wine. Ideal for a lunch time or early evening

drinks party. Lunchtime £25 per person Early Evening 5:00 – 7:30 £30 per person

A Traditional Afternoon Tea

Served at 2:30pm, the afternoon tea comes served on elegant tiered cake stands and includes sandwiches with a range of seasonal fillings, scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam and a

selection of cakes and pastries made by our own chefs. Afternoon tea can be served to groups of up to 70 people. A complimentary visit to the garden is included.

£30 per person or £40 with a glass of bubbles

A Wine list is available on request. Corkage is £10 (wine or champagne only) West Green House is a licensed premises and we can set up your required bar facilities.
