23th April CHILDREN DAYChilren Day

You know that Children Day is celebrated with a great enthusiasm in Turkiye every year.

Here some ansiclopedic knowledge about Children Day in Türkiye.

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey was established on 1920, April 23, and to commemorate

the event, April 23 was proclaimed a national holiday in 1921. Since 1927 it has also become

Children's Day (Turkish: Ulusal Egemenlik ve Çocuk Bayramı, literally "The Holiday of National

Sovereignty and Children"), an official holiday dedicated to the children of Turkey and (from 1979

on) the world. The day is celebrated annually in Turkey with spectacular activities.

In addition to holding many domestic celebratory events such as stadium performances, Turkey

also houses TRT International April 23 Children's Festival , where groups of children from other

countries are invited to participate in the festivities while staying at Turkish families' homes.

And Children Day don't only celebrates on 23th April but also celebrate during all week .

Hıdrellez6th May...

The day is celebrated every year as a day that two prophets met on the sky.

This story is about Hızır was a prophet and İlyas who was brother him .

For some reason two brothers had been seperated from each other .

They searched each other for years.

However they met a 6th May morning on the sky.

And they started to cry .

It's believed that every 6 May it would be rainy

According to another belief

The day is starting point for summer on the our land. This means "green".

Turkish people have mixed both of belief

and

Every 6th May the people say their wishes to branches, to water or to waves.

A coin is put in a handkerchief and is hung a branch of rose.

If the people live in a coast , this time all of the wishes are drawn to sand on the beach.

Or the wishes are told the water that flows from fountain.

Dragon Boat Races in Samsun (Part of theactivities of May 19th)

Youth and Sports Ministry, Sports Toto and Samsun Governor's Office organized the

Dragon Boat Races took place within the Port of Samsun.

Dragon Boat Races held in Samsun for the first time this year with 16 rowers 48 company

team consisting of a drummer broke off to breath about a thousand people's struggle.

Offshore Races under theCommemoration of Atatürk &Youth andSport Day

The World Offshore 22 Championship in 2012 held for the second time in Samsun.

ECI Man Cosmetics was the first, Beşiktaş was the second and Lenore Yatch was the third

in the fourth Leg of the Championship.

The activity had had importance twice times because of 19th Mayıs special day. There

have been many crowded at the port of Samsun.

The first step of the Cup of Blacksea Offroad started on 12nd May 2012 in Samsun due

to week of 19th Youth and Sport Activities.The organisation was supported The

Governor of Samsun and Municipality of Samsun.30 teams attended into this race.The

first stage took place in an artificial piste.

The second stage of the competition will occure on 19th and 20 May in Giresun , the

third stage between 2nd and 3rd June in Vezirköprü-Samsun, the fourth stage will occure

in Ardeşen -Rize on 23rd-24th June.And fifth stage will take place in Fatsa-Ordu 7-8 July ,

sixth stage will be 8-9th September in Sinop the last one will occure 29th 30th September

in Ordu Gölköy.
