Dear families… As we approach the end of term, this will be the last weekly newsletter from the Trust. The weekly newsletter was created in an attempt to keep families and children connected to our schools at a time of potential isolation through the sharing of children’s work and general positivity. There are so many people that have worked behind the scenes to put the newsletter together - from finding useful links for resources and activities to creating the slideshow of work to filming the Mr FranTastic workouts. It has taken a huge effort from the staff and team and our thanks go to everyone who has contributed. During this period the aim was to be optimistic, positive and creative and with that in mind I’d like to provide a special thank you to the following people: Mr Purnell - he has been the creative force and brains behind the newsletter. The entire format of the newsletter, how it looks, how work is displayed, the production and editing of the Mr FranTastic videos is all down to him. He has spent hours each week in creating the content and we cannot thank him enough. Mr Garcia - those of you who don’t know this name will know him as Mr FranTastic! Week in, week out, Mr Garcia has been prepared to go above and beyond in the videos and throughout it all we’ve been entertained and kept fit by his relentless optimism. Next year we will move to creating a monthly newsletter for families and children as a way of sharing excellent learning and collaboration across our schools. Last week the headteachers and I met to discuss the way forwards for September and you will all be receiving letters from your schools highlighting how they will be operating. Please rest assured that a lot of work and effort is going on behind the scenes to ready ourselves - we are looking forward to welcoming back all children and please have confidence that we will be working relentlessly to provide the best learning opportunities possible for your children in the safest way we can. As a group of schools we have now made the decision that all forms of home learning next year, where needed, will be done through Google Classroom. Across our schools we have used either SeeSaw, Google Classroom or Showbie as our virtual classrooms and now it makes sense to be consistent and go with one. Google Classroom is easy to use and access and, for those of you who haven’t yet used it, we will be providing help sheets and support in how to access it. We also plan to specifically spend some sessions in school with children in showing them how to login and access all features of Google Classroom. You can expect to hear more about this in early September. In the meantime, everybody in the Trust would like to thank you for your ongoing support of us and our schools and we hope you have a great summer when we all break up on the 17th July. Please do remember that children are due to return to all of our schools on 7th September 2020. Stay safe. Stay well. Dear families…As we approach the end of term, this will be the last weekly newsletter from the Trust.
