Celebrity Perfume Cabinet Furniture Design

Name: Kim Kardashian Age: 32 Ethnicity: Armenian Occupation: Socialite, television personality, business woman, fashion designer, model, actress. Kim is also a perfume designer with her sixth perfume underway Lives in: New York/ LA Hobbies: Collecting perfumes Loves jewelry and bling (especially diamonds) Kim Kardashian is a Los Angeles socialite, boutique owner, and star of the reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians She lives a lavish Hollywood style and likes to buy things in excess. She is also has five perfumes in her name with the sixth one set to be released later in the year. Appearance is very important to Kim.

The soon to be mother has about over 50 perfumes and requires a cabinet to store and display her collection. A one of a kind cabinet that reflects her nature and style. Modern, Innovative and feminine.

The concept is basically a perfume being born out of flowers. The concept of our cabinet is from the fact that perfumes originate from flower and fruit scents, The cabinet would be in the shape of flower petals. With the perfumes inside the cabinet it would imitate the concept that perfumes come from flowers. Our client likes bling and diamonds; so we would incorporate that into the shelving by adding Swarovski crystals at the edges of the shelving. The center shelve would be black, taking inspiration from this perfume bottle. The petals would be transparent or translucent glass and would provide more space for additional shelving and showcase. This is a custom made cabinet so we’ve taken into consideration the plan of the house

The materials that would be used for the cabinet would include. Tempered Glass This is chosen rather than acrylic to give a more sophisticated look to the cabinet and also because of safety (when It breaks it shatters into pieces) The tempered glass would be for the door of the cabinet and also the shelves (curved glass) Lacquered wood: The would be the main frame of the cabinet. The chosen color is Red because Red is being used because it is a sophisticated color, and it attracts. This would pull the visitors’ eye towards the cabinet. Led lights: This would be attached to the frame of the cabinet (Flexi Strip) Mirror: This would be the back of the cabinet and it would be fixed in the … Mirror is used for the back to give a sense of depth and reflect the displayed perfumes Shelf support: This is used to attach the shelves to the wooden frame. Hinges: The doors will open to the middle of the cabinet. (Main Cabinet) The smaller cabinets at the side would open to the left with the same hinges. Innovative hinge (Suggested): the side cabinet doors can be implemented as scissors doors taking cue from the Lamborghini car doors. This would however require a new type of really strong hinge that would be a mix of the soft stay hinge, a curved base plate Lock and crystal cabinet door knob Care The materials used has been carefully chosen to ensure that care (cleaning and maintenance) of the cabinet is easy. Cleaning would require the use of a clean damp cloth with water or window – cleaner for the glass and a damp cloth with a mild detergent for the wood.

Different ways and functions for the working of the cabinet was conceptualized and the final one was decided. The mechanism of the doors open to the center of the cabinet, hence the hinges of the middle cabinet are in the middle and both doors open to the center, this mechanism was decided as the final mechanism because it’s much more easier to use , maintain and it reduces the cost of implementation. Other methods considered for the cabinet doors were shutter doors at the side of the cabinet made out of wood panels that would slide downwards for the middle cabinet. Whereas the bottom of middle cabinet would open from the front to the center The shelves in the cabinet are held using a metal shelf support.
