Objective The prime objective of this project in the form of power point show is to get in flow

with the momentum of the college curriculum.

The given topic on celebrity chefs in interesting and it helps inspire us when we read through their biography.

The viewer is expected to take notes and find out more about the celebrity chefs, specially on those mentioned on the conclusion page, slide 31.

We as chefs, shall know the scope present outside the four walls of a professional hotel kitchen.

This project when presented in class will help to inculcate an ability to present a topic and interact with the audience which is important for a Chef.

Note – This ppt is not made in formal black and white rather has a use of subtle as well as vibrant colors to relate with the glam world of celebrities.

Who is a Celebrity Chef ?

A celebrity chef is a kitchen Chef who has become famous and well known.

Presenting cookery advice and demonstrations via mass media, especially television.

Some have achieved this through success in the kitchen and achieving such awards as Michelin Stars while others are home cooks.

They have various cookbooks and endorsements under their name.

Michelin Guide A series of annual guide/reference books published by the French company ‘Michelin’ for more than one

hundred years.

In 1900 the tire manufacturers André Michelin and his brother Édouard published the first edition of a guide for French motorists.

The term normally refers to the Michelin Red Guide, the oldest and best-known European hotel and restaurant reference guide, which awards Michelin stars for excellence to a select few establishments.

The acquisition or loss of a star can have dramatic effects on the success of a restaurant.

In 1926, the guide began to award stars for fine dining establishments.

The French chef Paul Bocuse, one of the pioneers of nouvelle cuisine in the 1960s, said, "Michelin is the only guide that counts.”

The Michelin Guide also awards Rising Stars, an indication that a restaurant has the potential to qualify for a star, or an additional star.

Born in Scotland and raised in England, Ramsay boasts multiple successful eateries around the world.

Chef Ramsay has served as the illustrious host of the U.K.'s "Kitchen Nightmares" and the popular show "Hell's Kitchen.“

He's also currently hard at work hosting and serving as executive producer of "MasterChef."

This intimate restaurant seats 45 guests

A French chef, who is the Head Chef and owner of the eponymous Guy Savoy restaurant in Paris and sister restaurant in Las Vegas, both of which have gained multiple Michelin stars.

Wolfgang Puck Born- July 8, 1949

Started working as apprentice in 1974

20 fine dining restaurants,

Top 40 Restaurants in the U.S.,premium catering services, more than 80 Wolfgang Puck Express operations, and kitchen and food merchandise, including cookbooks and canned foods.

Appeared in movies, TV Shows and advertisements with Arnold Schwarzenegger and many more.

Honorary Chair Chef for the "Five Star Sensation" Benefit in Cleveland, Ohio.(every two years helping to bring $10 million to support The Ireland Cancer Foundation of University Hospitals.)

In 2013, Puck was inducted into the ‘Culinary Hall of Fame’.

Paul Heathcotes Born - 3 October 1951 Paul Heathcote MBE is a chef, restaurateur and food consultant. He has appeared on many UK food television shows. currently runs several restaurants including Heathcotes Brasserie, The

Olive Press Preston and the Longridge Restaurant. Heathcote was appointed Member of the Order of the British

Empire (MBE) in the 2009 Birthday Honours. Paul Heathcote MBE founded his first restaurant, the legendary

Longridge Restaurant, in 1990 at the age of just 29. Michelin Stars, Catey Awards and the Egon Ronay Chef of the Year award

followed, as Paul became one of the best known chefs in the country.

Nobu Matsuhisa

Born on March 10, 1949.

known for his fusion cuisine blending traditional Japanese dishes with South American (Peruvian) ingredients.

He later moved to Alaska, USA and opened his own restaurant, which failed almost immediately due to a fire that destroyed the restaurant.

Nobu restaurants were later opened in Milan, London, Greece, Dallas, Tokyo, Honolulu, Moscow, Dubai, Budapest, and Hong Kong. (in partnership with Hollywood actor Robert De Niro).

INDIAN CELEBRITY CHEFS

Vineet Bhatia

Chef Vineet Bhatia has been the leading light in the Indian cuisine revolution of recent years. He won his first Michelin star for ‘Zakia’ in London in 2001, adding another in 2009 for inspirational cuisine at ‘Rasoi By Vineet’ in Geneva. Chef Vineet is Consultant Chef for Qatar Airways dining, and for top Indian restaurants in, Mauritius, Mumbai, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The first Indian chef to get a Michelin star (in 2001), Vineet Bhatia opened his own restaurant in 2004, which has in turn just been awarded its first star.

Sanjeev Kapoor

Indian chef and entrepreneur.

Stars in the TV show Khana Khazana, which is the longest running show of its kind in Asia; it broadcasts in 120 countries and in 2010 had more than 500 million viewers.

He is the most celebrated face of Indian Cuisine.

Born November 14, 1971.

award winning Michelin Starred Indian chef, restaurateur, and cookbook writer, filmmaker, humanitarian and the host of the TV Shows.

He has worked for the Taj, Oberoi, Welcomgroup, and Leela Group of Hotels and with some of the most influential chefs of the world including Gordon Ramsay, Bobby Flay, Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

started a restaurant on May 14, 2011, in Flatiron district of Manhattan, New York, called Junoon. On March 29, 2011, Khanna's restaurant Junoon received a favourable review from Sam Sifton in The New York Times.

ConclusionCelebrity Chefs are often looked up to as an idol for many. A Celebrity chef is the one who has probably worked into star hotels and moved up their way becoming a public figure using their interpersonal skills through media.

Celebrity chefs have made this skill to add up to their advantage and today most of them have moved on to becoming entrepreneurs. People prefer going to a celebrity chef associated restaurant, thus, celebrity chefs often add up to the business of any established hotel.

The Michelin guide is another tool that lifts up a chef to a level that Chef becomes a Celebrity. Chefs also becomes a celebrity when they receive various other awards and positions of high rank in esteemed establishments.

This PowerPoint Presentation lists out just 10 Celebrity Chefs out of which 7 were chosen randomly. The sphere of the celebrity chef is much bigger and a single ppt is inadequate to list all. Nevertheless, reading about any celebrity chef is always inspiring.
