At the outset I wish one and all a very Happy New Year 2017.

It gives me immense pleasure to communicate with my beloved Lohana brothers and sisters through our Mukh Patra “LOH JAGRUTI”. For this I am thankful to our young, energetic and dynamic President Shri Mukeshbhai Saglani for having conferred his full faith and confidence in selecting me as the Secretary of this prestigious Samaj. It will be my endeavor to work to the best of my ability and perform to the satisfaction of all.

st rdWe set the ball rolling at the 1 Managing Committee held on 23 Oct. 2016 with the cooperation from Shree Lohana Raghuvanshi Samaj, Belgaum. All members felt that the first and foremost need is to communicate with all members as such decided to give priority to LOH JAGRUTI and our WEBSITE.

I feel proud in stating that in such a short period our Committee members have done a tremendous job and today we are achieving the two goals by publishing the low cost format LOH JAGRUTI and also launching our WEBISTE southindialohana.com. I am sure this will help us in coming closer to one another. My congratulations to our senior member Shri Bharatbhai Thakrar for taking the lead in both the projects alongwith Shri Dhirubhai Roopabhida, Shri Parixitbhai Popat, Shri Narayanbhai Pavani, Shri Rameshbhai Vasani and Shri Rajeshbhai Modi.

We do not rest with this. Our next step is to update our membership details and the launch of website will make our work more easy and accurate. My sincere request to all to please update your family data on the website at the earliest.

We have to support our needy gnyati bandhus in the field of education and health. We are planning to create an EDUCATION FUND to ensure our talented children do not miss out on their career due to financial problems. Further, it is said health is wealth. A scheme of MEDICLAIM for the needy only with the help of local Mahajan's is being planned as soon as we have our member's data in place. I solicit your cooperation and financial support when we come out with concrete plans to achieve above goals.

We have many more miles to go. Let us move in the right direction by achieving short but realistic goals one by one. Your valuable guidance and suggestions are most welcomed. Our aim our motto “SAB KE SATH SAB KA VIKAS”.

It gives me a great pleasure in releasing the first edition of our "Loh Jagruti" a mouthpiece of Shree Dakshin Bharat Lohana Samaj which connects our gnyati bandhus across south India.

Just before taking over as the president and after that I had the privilege of visiting Bangalore, Cochin, Mangalore and Belgaum mahajans where we had a fruitful interaction with the members of respective mahajans. I was touched by the love and hospitality extended to all of us at all these places. I will surely make efforts to visit the other mahajans during my tenure.

I request all the mahajans to send the details of the programme organized by them regularly to our editor Shri Bharatbhai Thakrar so that it can be published in upcoming issues of Loh Jagruti.

My special thanks to Cochin Mahajan for inviting me for Patoutsav at Darialal Mandir and compliments to Mangalore mahajan for successfully organizing youth meet. I am also thankful to Belgaum Mahajan for accepting our request to host the first committee meeting and doing so in great style. I also compliment Coimbatore Mahajan for playing a wonderful host to Mahila - Sishu Sammelan and the AGM of SDBLS, not forgetting the members of my very own Goa Lohana Mahajan for supporting and standing behind me as a rock in all my decisions.

A big thank you to Shri Bharatbhai Thakrar, editor of Loh Jagruti and his team who have put in lot of hard work to bring out the first edition in short span of time with cooperation of all the sponsors/advertisers without whom this would not have been possible.

ONE OF THE MOST ACTIVE AND STRONG MAHAJAN OF SDBLS. DIVEDED INTO FOUR VIBHAG:

SHREE JALARAM SEVA TRUST : Apart from Shree Jalarambapa Mandir , activities done is feeding poor and hungry in different parts of Bangalore everyday and on Thursday Mahaprasad at Jalaram Bhavan where after Bhajan and Aarti nearly 1500 devotees come and take Prasad. Jalaram Jayanti is celebrated and nearly 7000 devotees take part and have prasad. Blood donation , health clinic where free medicine and consultation is provided for poor and needy. More then 100 patients are looked in every day. Shree Jalaram Bhavan, Virbai Bhavan, Jalaram Health Clinic and Jalaram Dham are the four buildings are taken care of.

SHREE LOHANA MAHILA MANDAL : There are 500 members in our Mandal. We meet on every second Friday at Jalaram Bhavan. Mandal organizes Demos ,Talks, Games , picnic and celebrates all festivals with great enthusiasm Vraj Yatra are also organised by us like we went to Mathura pilgrimage ,and all the members enjoyed a lot ANERO ANAND MELA “ Fun fair is organized since last six years. Food and other items are served and sold. All the proceedings goes for charitable purpose members take active part in the success of the Mela .Bhagvath Saptha was organized with 33 pothis & all Gujaratis came with ful devotion . We help in the organisation of Jalaram Jayanti by going for Prabhat feri & organising bhajan also .every Thursday there are devotional bhajans in the Bhavan followed by prasad

Sree Raghuvanshi Yuva Sangh is, as a team is involved in many social service activities and humane services, some of which are as stated below:

lMassive and hugely successful fund raising efforts through “Navratri” – year on year for a world class top of the line retirement home for the elderly with all possible amenities.

l Helping bright students by providing monetary educational support - after careful screening as well as rewarding their efforts by awarding accolades through “Saraswati Sanman”.

SHREE JALARAM BAL MANDAL : Bal Mandal involves in various activities with tradition , religion and culture. Children are taught our mother tongue Gujarati. Slokas and bhajans are regularly chanted. Bal Mandal meets twice in a month . Celebrates all festivals. Competetions are conducted to bring competitive spirit among children. To assess the progress even examinations are also conducted. Children also visit orphanage, gov. schools etc. This year Bal Mandal donated Benches and chairs for four class rooms to a Govt. School.

I've been greatly honoured to be trusted by the Sri Dakshin Bharat Lohana Samaj with the responsibility of the Chairperson of its Youth Wing. I, very humbly accept this role and assure all the members an eventful and constructive term.

Youth Wing is been brain-storming to come up with exiting events during this term. Sharing here Some of the events and projects which I have in mind and which can successfully be executed with support and cooperation from all.

Blood donation camps, SDBLS cricket tournament, Grand Youth Meet with a variety of cultural events and talent show, An Entrepreneurship Workshop cum Exhibition wherein participants can display their products and services. The internet has drastically changed our world in the last few decades and E- entrepreneurship offers exciting new opportunities which can be explored during this exhibition.

Hope to receive full support and cooperation from everyone to make all these possible . Youth wing Co-Chairman Parixit Popat and myself will try our level best to work for it. Youth Wing

Mahajan had organised a LOHANA YOUTH MEET 2016 at Mangalore on the 16th & 17th of July 2016. This meet was planned to bring all unmarried youth of our gnyati from Dakshin Bharat together & give them a platform for recognition, an opportunity to expose their talents & self development, which we felt was the need of the hour.

This kind of Meet was organised for the first time in Dakshin Bharat. We had very good response & a total of 176 Delegates had registered. 48 eligible candidates had registered, out of which 30 had participated. The two days youth meet was fully packed with lots of Interactive games & competetions, wherein indirect introduction of eligible candidates was held. All candidates, SDBLS office bearers & parents had a very fruitful interaction & went back with sweet memories of this meet.

On the 17th evening we had the AGM of Shree Mangalore Lohana Mahajan & Saraswati Sanman program with Gnyati Preeti Bhojan.

During this meet we released the new address directory of Shree Mangalore Lohana Mahajan & also Lohana Youth Meet 2016 Delegates Data Book. we had sent both this books to all the Mahajans of Dakshin Bharat.

We had our yearly Sneh Milan & Gnyati Pritibhojan program on 31-10-2016 on our New Year Day where all our Lohana families gathered & enjoyed the evening. We thank all those who participated in the YOUTH MEET & made it a success.
