Cementing Console

In today´s environment it is even more important for drilling and completions teams to focus on reducing non-productive time (NPT) during well construction by controlling and enhancing operational integrity and efficiency. . KONGSBERG, in conjunction with BP, developed the SiteCom® Well Advisor real-time advisory solution for well operations in response to this growing focus. By leveraging the existing industry leading SiteCom® solution, SiteCom Well Advisor takes real-time data management to the next level as a decision support system integrating data with predictive tools and processes. This supports the delivery of the right information to the right place at the right time allowing for more informed decisions during critical operations.

Features •  Prediction of TOC (top of cement in

the annulus) based on volumetric calculations

•  Prediction of TOC (top of cement in the annulus) based on dynamic lift pressure calculations

•  Visualization of theoretical TOC based on volumetric calculations

•  Monitoring of the surface pressure during cementing to detect abnormal situations

•  Comparison of cement density against the planned density

•  Comparison of pump rates against the planned rates

•  Visualization of fluid fronts during cementing job

•  Provides visualization of data that is generally only available to rig-site personnel to a much wider audience through web-enabled technology

•  Reduces the leg work involved in generating reports and standard plots during cementing (such as displacement plots) by automating these tasks and allowing printouts / display of them as well as automatic annotation of stage changes

The Cementing Console is primarily designed as a tool to improve the monitoring capability of the cement job by gathering cement design and execution data in a consistent format. This allows operators to verify what is happening on the rig is what has been planned in the office. The Cementing Console monitors real-time execution of the cement job, presenting key, measured and calculated, values to support verification of cement well barriers. It is designed to support cementing the primary casing by focusing on: •  real-time determination of the current stage of the cement job (what is being pumped) compared to the plan. •  real-time monitoring of the volume of fluid that has been pumped during each stage of the cementing job. •  real-time monitoring of the total volume of fluid pumped during the cementing job. •  real-time monitoring of fluid gains or losses during the cement job. •  real-time tracking of the cementing components that are in the well during the cement job.
