Location plan
I got an image of the location plan from Blackboard and I imported it into Auto Cad. Floor plan
I started drawing the floor plan here. As you can see I was still trying to workout where things go and if the measurements were right.

Doors
The measurements looked fine so I went on to the doors. I drew a small box, line and a circle to create the door. Trim tool
I trimmed the unwanted parts of the circle

7
Mirror tool
After I mirrored the door I then trimmed the excess off both doors.
I followed the same process to draw the
double doors but this time I did not trim
anything.

Completed Floor Plan
I noticed that some of my measurements were wrong, so I went back to the site to double-check them.

Extend EX – Keyboard shortcut To Execute
• Select object(s) or (select all)
• Enter or spacebar • (Fence/Crossing/Project/Edge/Undo)
At this point I simply selected the objects that I wanted to extend by drawing a green box around them from right – left.

Isometric drawing To set isometric mode:
• Right click on the grid in the status bar • Click on settings
This box should appear
3D Design Procedures & Practice
19
• Choose Isometric snap
Another way of doing this is by right clicking on ‘object snap’ in the status bar, settings and then ‘snap and grid’. Lift

Drawing walls
Drawing window Extending line
I made a mistake with the measurements when drawing this
wall. I realized later on and drew it again at
the correct size.

21
Trimming & Extending
I trimmed the lines I did not need and extended the wall. The result is show below

I used the fillet to round off the edges of the windows

Steps
Rails: Ground floor
I started drawing the rails here

26
I used the same method as I did for the long section when drawing the rails.

Axonometric floor plan
1. Copy the image

28
2. Select object from right to left
3. RO – Rotate to 45 degrees and make sure cursor is on the right. A preview of the image should appear.

The windows, doors and rails were the last things that I did in this drawing because they had more details. The Axonometric so far
