“When it came to deciding what I really wanted out of my college

experience, I knew that I wanted to feel a part of a community

of people. I wanted close relationships with my professors and

advisors, and most of all I wanted an excellent education that would

prepare me for medical school. Centenary fit the bill, and at the end

of the day I knew it was the place for me.”

“Centenary has given me a brilliant four years of personal development

and learning. I picked up French, represented Louisiana in the Model Arab

League southwest regional conference, studied abroad in Belgium and Hong

Kong, gained experience as a translator with a local clinic, helped to plan

and design the logos for volunteer events such as MLK Service Day and the

BIG Event, became a charter member of the city’s first NOW chapter, and

interned at a Buddhist mountain community in Colorado.”

Katie Cornwell“More in Four is a phrase that truly embodies my college experience

at Centenary. I have pulled all-nighters to finish papers and I have

pulled all-nighters hanging out with friends. I have traveled abroad

and spent a month in India where I slid down the snowy tops of the

Himalaya mountains, circumambulated the Dalai Lama’s temple, and

taught a Tibetan refugee how to read, write, and speak in English.”

“I have been introduced to new ways of thinking and interpreting

the world through my interactions with faculty, staff, and my fellow

students. I think it is really hard to find a place that lives in the tension

of challenging you and supporting you, but I have found that at

Centenary. I will always have an attachment to the place that taught

me to critically examine and care for the world all at the same time.”
