E v e n t P l a n n e r s TheUniversityofSouthFloridaCenterforStudentInvolvement(CSI)cultivatesanenvironmentinwhichstudentsareengagedintransformationalexperiencesthatleadtolifelonglearning,personalgrowth,andconnectiontotheUniversity.CSIcontributestostudentsuccessthroughqualityinvolvementopportunities,education,andadvisingwhichfosterUSFpride,globalleadersandholisticstudentdevelopment.CSIconsistsofthefollowingareas:overallStudentInvolvementinitiativesandpromotion,CampusTraditionsBoard(HomecomingandUSFWeek),CampusActivitiesBoard,Fraternity/SororityLife,UniversityLectureSeries,andtheCentreGallery.Injustonesemester,CSIProgramscanaverageover25,000attendeesatover100events.CSIisstaffedbyapproximately30studentleadersacrossthreeprogrammingboards,theCentreGallery,andfrontdeskstaffassistantteamaswellasover30studentvolunteers.Additionally,thereare6graduateassistants,1administrativespecialist,4coordinators,1assistantdirector,1associatedirector,and1directorthatroundsoutthefull,award-winningteam.

EventPlannersareresponsibleforplanningandcoordinatingeventsandprogramsfortheUSFcommunity.Theycanexpecttogainskillsineventsmanagement,marketing,negotiating,andcommunication.EventplannersworkwithbudgetstoprovideUSFstudentswithcreativeandinnovativeprogramsthatreflectsstudentinterests.HaveyoueverwantedtoplanaMoviesontheLawn,alecture,oraHomecomingevent?Ifso,joinourteamofeventplanners!

ExpectedLearningOutcomes:

1. StudentboardstaffwillbeabletoholdthemselvesaccountabletobringingthestrategicgoalsofCSItolife.

2. StudentboardstaffwillbeaccountabletothecorevaluesofCSI,whichinclude:creatingengagedandresponsiblecitizens,fosteringcommunity,embracingadiversesociety,supportingintellectualgrowth,developingpersonalleadershipcompetencies,buildinginterpersonalrelationships,andencouragingservicetoothers.

3. Studentboardstaffwillcreateengagedandresponsiblecitizens,fostercommunity,emberadiversesociety,supportintellectualgrowth,developpersonalleadershipcompetencies,buildinterpersonalrelationships,andencourageservicetoothers.

4. StudentboardstaffwillcontributepositivelytobuildingateamwithinCSI.5. Studentboardstaffwillworkcollaborativelywithothers.6. Studentboardstaffwillactivelyseekfeedbackandacceptfeedbackinapositivemannerfrom

Compensation:Studentdirectorpositionswillbepaid$8.25perhourfor10hoursaweek.Certainpositionsmaybepaidforadditionalhoursduringpeakperiodsoftime(i.e.HomecomingWeek,USFWeek).Trainingandprofessionaldevelopmentopportunitiesareunpaidaswellasothervolunteeropportunitiesassociatedwiththeposition.*Eachprogrammingboardhasaweeklymeetingcommitment.Inordertobeconsideredforthesepositions,youmustbeavailableatthefollowingtimes:

CampusActivitiesBoard(CAB)positions

CSICommitteeDirectorTheCSICommitteeDirectorwilloverseethevolunteercommittee,utilizingBullSync,forallCenterforStudentInvolvementboards(CAB,CampusTraditionsBoard,andUniversityLectureSeries),workingcloselywithallboardstocoordinatevolunteerandpromotionalefforts.Directorwillplanandexecutevolunteercommitteemeetings,socials,andvolunteerrecognitionthroughouttheyear.PatioTuesdayDirectorThePatioTuesdayDirectorwillplanandexecuteaPatioTuesdayeventthefirstTuesdayofeachmonthfrom11am-1pmoutsideoftheMSC.Eacheventshouldbecreativeandrepresenttheneedsofthegeneralstudentbodybyselectingappropriatetheme,food,noveltyentertainment,giveawaysandgeneralentertainment.AvailabilityduringthefirstTuesdayofeverymonthfrom9a-2pisrequired.BullsNiteOutDirectorEachBullsNiteOutDirectorwillassistintheselection,planning,managing,andpromotingof1respectiveweekendprogrameachmonththroughouttheacademicyear.Thiswillincludecreatingandselectingentertainment,activities,andfoodfortheprogram,aswellascoordinatingtheeventwiththeMarshallStudentCenter(ortheappropriatelocation)facilities,USFPhysicalPlant,andavarietyofotherUSFDepartmentsinvolvedintheexecutionofanevent.RegularparticipationinBullsNiteOutandCABeventsisexpectedwiththeposition.AllBullsNiteOuteventsoccuroneitherFridayorSaturdaynights,generallyfrom9pm-Midnight.GeneralavailabilityduringFridayeveningsonarotatingbasisisrequired.MoviesDirectorTheMoviesDirectorwillselect,planandpromoteabi-monthly(twiceamonth)movieseriesonWednesdaynightsthroughoutthe2015-2016academicyear.Thiswillincludeenhancementsatsomemoviessuchasincorporatingthemes,activities,orfoodsponsors.Additionally,thisdirectormayexecuteamonthlymovieprogramtoserveasthe“mainevent”forselectBullsNiteOutprograms.ThisdirectorwillalsobeinchargeofplanninganannualeventcalledCampusMovieFest,duringwhichstudents’filmsareshowcased.TheMoviesDirectorisresponsibleforcoordinatingtheshortfilmsubmissionandjudgingprocess.Dutieswillincludeworkingwithoutsidevendorsandcompanies,andplanningalllogisticsassociatedwiththeevent.AvailabilityWednesdayeveningsisrequired.

CampusTraditionsBoard(CTB)Positions:

CampusTraditionsProgrammingDirectorsCampusTraditionsProgrammingDirectorswillplanandexecutetheeventsofHomecomingandUSFWeek,includingSuperBullTeamCompetitions,Kick-Off,HomecomingBallandCourt,HomecomingParade,HomecomingCarnival,UltimateBullTalentShow,Rocky’sBirthday,andadditionaleventstobedetermined.Specificresponsibilitieswillbeassignedaftertheboardisformed.

UniversityLectureSeries(ULS)Positions:

EventsDirectorTheEventsDirectorwillcoordinatereceptionsforeachlectureguest,reachingouttoandpartneringwithUSFdepartments,colleges,andstudentorganizations,aswellasexternalTampaBaycommunitymembers.EventsDirectorwillworkcloselywithcateringandeventservicestoensureahighqualityreception.Dutieswillincludesendingoutinvitationsforthereceptionsandensuringreservedseatingatthelectureforguests.EventsDirectorwillplanandorganizeteasereventspriortolecturestogenerateexcitementabouttheupcomingspeaker.SchedulingDirectorTheSchedulingDirectorwilloverseealleffortsrelatedtothestudentexperience,ensuringanenjoyableexperienceforall.Dutieswillincludecreatingadetailedstaffingplanforeachevent,arrangingspecialaccommodationsforguestasneeded,andworkingcloselywiththeCenterforStudentInvolvementCommitteeDirectortocommunicatetheneedsandschedulingofallvolunteercommitteemembers.TheSchedulingDirectorwillcoordinatealleventstaffincluding,butnotlimitedto,soundandlight,security,andphotography.
