After 4 rounds of football the CCDRL 1st Grade Competition is left with 2 undefeated teams, Wyong and The Entrance and they clash this weekend in what is undoubtedly the match of the round at Morry Breen Oval today. Congratulations to the players selected in the CCDRL Under 23’s and Ladies League Tag Representative sides which played North Coast at Macksville yesterday. A Report on the games will appear in next week’s program. A reminder to all Players, Officials and Supporters in regard to the NRL Code Of Conduct. Last week a player appeared before the Judiciary and was handed a 15 match suspension. Best of luck to all teams this weekend.Regards,

Fred HartupPresident CCDRL

The Sharks hosted the Wyong Roos at Shark Park on Sunday and after a solid win in the League Tag match, the Sharks, despite putting in plenty of effort, were outplayed and outmuscled by sides that were well drilled. Hard day at the office for the Sharks but we will return better for the hitout in the next few weeks.

The Terrigal Ladies League Tag team stung from the tight loss to premiership fa-vourites The Entrance the week previous produced their best performance of the year to defeat Wyong 34 - 0. Getting back to basics, with an excellent kick chase saw Casey Youngberry lay on the first try for speedster Tara Angell after only 2 min-utes of play. Great defence saw The Roos defend their line for an extended period before Rach Curnow dived over to extend the lead by 12 just before the break. four second half tries, a second to Tara, one each to Casey, Kate Fullbrook and the try of the match going to youngster Sharni Waters. Some excellent goal kicking from Britt Starr was another highlight of the match. Best and Fairest was Rach Curnow, two points and Players Player went to Layne Forster with one point shared between Tara and Bronte Lambert - Minto. Special mention to Matead Barber who continues to excel at fullback week in week out.

The Sharks Nineteens delivered a much improved performance on the weekend. After playing poorly the week before, commitment was the major focus for the clash against Wyong and the effort the boys showed is something they can all be proud of. Against a very good side, that was much bigger than us and brimming with what seemed to be an endless supply of reserves, the boys never through in the towel and for that they are to be commended. The challenge for us is to show that commitment every week, and polish a few areas of our game, and we’ll be a team that will be more than competitive. Three points and Players Player went to Oliver Patterson who answered the call and played with plenty of commitment and deter-mination. two points was shared by good mates Jesse Kamper and captain Tom Bateup who although different in size, both showed the passion and desire to make this team better and never stopped trying while one point went to bustling Brad Jay who did his best to compete with the big Wyong pack. The T-W Sharks Open grade went set for set for the first twenty minutes against a strong Wyong side and managed to get across the line first for an an early lead. It was once again the last fifteen minutes of the half that saw the scoreline blowout, with the Sharks becoming fatigued and getting injuries to key players which didn’t help. To their credit the Sharks fought back in the second half and with fifteen min-utes remaining the scoreboard read 18 - 14 to the Roos. Again the Sharks lost mo-mentum and the final minutes saw the Roos race in three tries for a 32 - 14 victory. All in all the side put in a lot of effort and heart, showing glimpses of potential. The three points and Players Player went to Joel Vanderpoel who led the team around the paddock, the two points went to workhorse Michael Creamer and one point went to a hard working Sean Foster. The Sharks Reserve grade side were well beaten on the scoreboard 28 - 6 but showed plenty of fight after trailing 22 - 6 at the halftime break. Trailing 16 - 0 a Matt Burraston try off a MIchael Wright pass and a Josh Lyon conversion had the Sharks back in with a glimpse but an error on the kickoff again had the Sharks trailing by sixteen points. The second half was a tough affair with the Roos able to conjure the only try in the half in an improved defensive display from the Sharks. Can’t belong now before the Coach gets the urge to put on the boots. Best for the Sharks and Players Player was second rower Darcy Gilchrist who was in a battle with the Wyong pack all match, the two points went to second row partner who got through plenty of work while the one point went to Dane Clarke who took some good options around the ruck and tackled strongly. The Sharks First grade were given a lesson in Rugby League by a very good Wyong outfit. In an embarrassing first half which saw the Roos race to a 34 - 0 half-time lead the Sharks missed plenty of tackles and gave up good field position with simple errors. Coach Forbes gave the team a halftime spray and asked for more commitment from the side, thankfully the players responded and managed to stem the flow with Lachlan Bell managing to cross for the Sharks only try, fulltime read 46 - 4. Hopefully the side realise where they are in 2018 and the work needed to go on with the job. Best for the Sharks and Players Player was young gun Lachlan Bell who played with plenty of heart for the full game, the two points went to Nick Paul who got through plenty of work while the one point went to Aaiden Wright who stopped plenty of Roos attack and ran strongly.

Magpies News BJ Howes Metaland Lisarow & Charmhaven First Grade Team Report – The Ourimbah Magpies 1st grade side prepared well and looked forward to the challenge against one of the premiership favourites . We controlled possession early and jumped out to a 12-0 lead, before a series of non completions and penalties shifted momen-tum to the Tigers, who took advantage to lead by 8 points at the break. The score remained that way for a long period into the 2nd half before a 10 minute period where the experienced Tigers used the 50/50 calls, and there high completion rate very well, creating two quick tries , one from a well worked scrum play . The pleasing aspect of our men’s performance however was the attitude to compete , settling into our game at the back end of the half , scoring points and finishing well. Determination and competitiveness with this group can’t be questioned , but the side can certainly play a little smarter, ultimately going down by a 10 point margin . Big games by Darcy Etrich , Alex Pohla and Jason Overton . On the road again today facing The Premiers in Terrigal . Another great opportunity for us to keep improving .Duncan Excavations Reserve Grade Team Report - The Ourimbah Magpies 2nd grade side were beaten by a polished Entrance side. Although the first half was a tight affair we fell down on many of the basics in the second half to let our opposition dominate the game. Best for our team were Wes Black who gets better each week, Josh Elvins and Sam Stewart.Anytime Fitness Wyoming Ladies League Tag Team Report - Tough day against The Entrance. We played very well in patches. I don’t think the score reflected the effort the girls made. Work a little harder at training and should start to see results. Club ReportToday we travel out to Duffy’s Reserve in our round 5 clash against our tra-ditional rivals and reining premiers The Terrigal Sharks and we as a club are looking forward to this challenge in all grades. After last week’s vastly im-proved efforts the club and players will be out to show some consistency and play some good footy, everyone has a spring in there step now and looking forward to the challenge of playing one of the benchmark clubs in all grades, after last weeks determined effort in first grade to which just shows the poten-tial within this playing group we have put together to which also reflects on our reserve grade lads.Everyone is welcome to attend our after match presentations to be held this week @ The Grange Hotel @ Wyoming from 5pm with refreshments and ex-cellent meals available, so please bring your families and all kids are more than welcome to attend.

Eagles News Golden Eagles Reunion is now on 17 June vs Ourimbah at Erina Oval. Next week is our first home game against Wyong. First game kicking off 9am. Please come along and support the Eagles and visit the hotdog stand to get your-self some merchandise. First grade – our thoughts and best wishes are with Tim for a fast recovery. Thank you to the Berkeley Vale first grade team for the sportsmanship shown last week-end. Berkeley Vale opened the scoring taking the lead 6-0 but it didn’t take long for Erina to fight back. The first half was a battle losing Benny and Steven to injury but the second half we managed to pull together and play some good footy. Tyler O’Brien was strong all game hitting up hard and putting some big shots on picking up players player and the 3 points. Jesse Bogle 2 points and 1 point to Brad Ben-nett, Jono Saweris and Mitchell Browning. Jack Frasca made his first grade debut last weekend and impressed everyone and got himself a try. Open grade – any thoughts of an easy game were quickly dispelled by a very com-mitted Gosford Open Grade outfit at Berkeley Vale. The final score 20-10 was a fair indication of the closeness of the teams. Continuing his good early season form, “Blair“ Batton lead from the front, proving almost unstoppable often carrying half the opposition with him AND also scoring 2 tries! The Bat picked up Players Player and the 3 points. Not far behind him was Kurt, who was always where the ball was, young Luke Redhead and our halves Blake and Stormy. Certainly a great start to the year with plenty of challenges ahead! Under 19s – unfortunately Berkeley Vale were unable to field a side therefore our boys winning on forfeit. Ladies league tag – a hard fought win from the Erina girls over a committed Berke-ley Vale team. The Berka girls went to the break with a 2-0 lead. In the second half we controlled the ball much better and took advantage of our good field position to score a 20-2 win. The competition this year is much improved from previous seasons and there are no easy games so our girls must show up ready to play their best each week. Best for the Berkeley Vale team were Katrina Barnes, Chloe McClymont and Caitlin Mills while for Erina Kylie Stewart the veteran of the team scored two tries and got the 3 points, Em Haines 2 points and Lucy Workman 1 point in a good team effort in the second half. Roosters News Welcome all to Woy Woy Oval for Round 5 of the Central Coast Division Rugby League competition with the Roosters taking on Erina Eagles. We hope it’s an enjoyable day of footy for all. Thanks to all supporters for turning up today and to all the Clubs spon-sors for your continued support which is much appreciated.Round 4 against Kincumber saw us travel to take on the Colts on what started out as a gloomy day and ended up that way with one win only to the Roosters. Our B&J Asphalting Ladies League Tag team in a much improved per-formance went down in a close one 14-10 after going into the break locked at 10 all. Jasmine Wolfe and Mackenzie Sivyer both crossed for tries and Rhiannon Hall kicked one goal. Ashleigh Pauletto had another strong game as did Jasmine Wolfe with Ellie Hipwell having a good game at fullback. The Phil’s Car Repairs Under 19’s came out all guns ablaze and it looked like it was going to be a one sided affair for us but Kincumber came back strong and took the points 34-16. Scorers for us were Saxon Wol-lenhaupt, Daniel Maclean and Max Bovis with Mitch Richardson kicking 2 goals. Points for Woy Woy went to Daniel MacLean, Tamani McInnes-Cama and Jed Silvester. Our Woy Woy Leagues Open Age had the bye and todays game against Erina should be a good one.Mick Bovis’s S&M Contracting 2nd Grade team got another win 28-16 with the forwards scoring all the Roosters tries Brett Sonter getting a dou-ble, Nathan Richter, Nathan Bawden and Daniel Markham all crossing for one with DJ unlucky not to have 2. Jake Williams kicked another 4 goals. The best for the Roosters were Brett Sonter, James Hickey and Nathan Ritcher with DJ having his best game for the season.Versatile Homes 1st grade Roosters team went down in another close one that got away from them 30-22. Jimmy Fawcett scored a hat trick with Brodie Finnegan getting one and Chris Hyde slotted 3 conversions. Jimmy Fawcett had another strong game and Jake Shearer was solid in the middle, skipper and hooker Chris toiled hard all game. Our coach Mack Fawcett and the boys know what needs to be done to get the job done and are working hard to get the results we all know they are capa-ble of.Looking forward to today’s games and inviting all back to Woy Woy Leagues after the games for presentations.Up the Roosters

Storm News A spirited performance from the GKS boys saw the premiers, Erina escape with a 20-10 win in drizzly conditions at Berkeley Vale last Sunday. The game heralded the launch of the Storm’s snazzy new playing strip, and was preceded by a solemn minutes silence in memory of former Gosford player & junior coach, Greg Martin who tragically lost his life in a road accident during the off season. The game itself saw Gosford push the Eagles all the way and if we ever manage to consistently hang on to the Steeden; then a positive score-board shall undoubtedly follow. Gritty goal line defence was rewarded just minutes before halftime when Aaron Smith intercepted and raced 67 metres in a northerly direction; the fleet footed Jesse Murray finishing off a scintillating passage of play in the right hand corner. Our second four pointer fell to chirpy fullback Billy James, who chimed in on the left edge; running off half Brendan Eather to spear over for the final try of the contest.Today we wake up early, grab our passports and travel all the way up to Doyalson to take on the Warriors; from whence the recording of a victory would be mighty handy if we hope to stay in touch with this season’s other semi final aspirants. Wyong were hoping the return to Roos HQ for the Round 8 clash with Mounties would result in a change of fortune, after the green and gold had failed to win a match since Round 3. The home team was comprehensively outplayed 42-6 by Mounties in Round 2 at Hinchinbrook, and it was difficult to imagine from where the impetus would come to reverse that result.Jack Murchie crossed in the second minute for Mounties amidst more than a hint of obstruction. Makahesi Makatoa scored seven minutes later, and if the fat lady was not al-ready warming up when Fijian International, Sitiveni Mocei-dreke, touched down for the first of his three tries in the 19th minute, she was in full voice when Wyong winger, Reece Robinson, received his marching orders from ref Casey Badger just a minute later.Mounties took a 24-0 lead into the break. The Roos trou-bled the visitors in patches but were unable to sustain pres-sure with and without the ball. Playing a man short for 60 minutes at this level is the definition of difficult, and the home team were unable to muster the energy to plug the holes created by the sideline to sideline shifts from the men in black. Mounties hooker, Craig Garvey, had been chief destroyer in the Round 2 rout, and if there was anything for Wyong to take from this match, it was the way they man-aged Garvey this time around. Josh Mantellato scored a consolation try for the Roos in the 62nd minute, but normal service was resumed soon afterwards when Moceidreke, then Corey Horsburgh and finally Alofi Mataele scored fur-ther tries for the visitors.Hard to know where Wyong goes from here. However, there is some prospect of points when the local boys meet last placed Newcastle at Morry Breen Field on Saturday 5 May. Kick off is at 3pm.

LADIES LEAGUE TAG NEWSLast weekend saw some close games with Berkeley Vale Panthers putting up a tough fight against Erina. The Panthers, with no reserves, opened the scoring with a penalty goal but Erina fought back with a great try. Berkeley Vale were strong in defence for the game but Erina got the win 20-2. The Eagles still missing playmaker Madi Crowe who has been representing Australia in Touch Football but will be welcomed back this weekend. Northern Lakes held Toukley to a zero scoreline and Bri Frater was best on the day. Kincumber and Woy Woy had a tight game with the Colts winning 14-10 with Millie Powell and Teagan Powell being standouts for Kincumber while Jasmine Wolfe once again led the Roosters. Terrigal were coming off a loss against The Entrance but Rachael Curnow was remarkable in the game with the Sharks winning 34-0. Competition leaders The Entrance had a big win over the Magpies with Holly Buchanan proving why she was selected as fullback in the rep side being the best player in the game and contributing to the scoreline with two tries and slotting seven goals.

Tigers News First Grade Report: The Central Coast Cleaning Contractors First Grade Tigers came up against opposition who had been playing well, winning their last two games so we knew they would come to play. We started poorly with a lack of energy and they made us pay with two quick tries inside the first 10 minutes. After that we woke up and started to get some ascendency on the game controlling the next 55 minutes and putting on 32 points. In amongst these points there was some very good footy played, taking our time and not chasing points. However we fell away at the end again and conceded another two late tries. Reserve Grade Report: The GTL Rapid Clean Reserve Grade Tigers were primed and ready for Ourimbah after a poor showing in Round 3. The match against the Mag-pies began in tough conditions with plenty of rain and wind to contend with. Both sides were physical in their approach but it was the Tigers who won the battle for field position and took an 8-0 lead into the break. Improved ball control and organisation saw the Tigers continually turn the Magpies around and march up field. Some impressive tries were scored and the Tigers didn’t look back, running out 40-0 victors. There wasn’t a bad player on the field for the Tigers, a great team effort. Well done boys. We look forward to a tough clash with Wyong today.Open Age Report:The MJM Kitchens & Stone Open Age Tigers were at home to last year’s grand finalists in wet conditions, which lead to a lot of handling errors. Going into halftime 4-0 down, we knew if we held the ball in the second half we’d be in with a big chance. To our boy’s credit we did that and came away winners 16-12. Our best was Daniel Adamson, Blacky & Curtis.Under 19’s Report:The Coca Cola Amatil Under 19 Tigers played in very ordinary match conditions as they were attempting to continue their run of good form against Ourimbah. The first half presented some quality football from the young Tigers generating a 20–6 lead at the break with tries to the skip-per Jake Slee, slick fullback Josh Martin, rugged centre Chris Ball and barnstorming prop Kai Doyle and conversions (2) to Jackson Greaves. In the second stanza, the Tigers really went on with the job scoring an-other 5 tries with Josh Martin adding another 2 to his tally, young tyro Wilson Hayes, scintillating centre Matt Hedges and rugged Zane Griffiths all scoring tries with Jackson Greaves adding another 2 conversions in a great team effort. Best players were Tyler Scrine, who has been con-tinuing his strong form, try scoring machine Josh Martin, players’ player Wilson Hayes and scheming half back Jake Slee. A true test of our form this week when we come up against arch rivals Wyong at Wyong.League Tag Report:The Pallisters Ladies League Tag Tigers continued their strong start to 2018 with a 64-0 win against Ourimbah. After a strong start getting out to a quick 10-0 lead, Ourimbah lifted and frustrated the Tigers into mistakes making points difficult to come by up to half time. In the second half the Tigers kicked into gear with some enterprising play and great team tries to run our convincing winners. Whilst it is hard to pick the best in a 64-0 win with everyone contributing well, it was Ange Jones, Kristen Kessler, Steph Sharp and Maddie Langshaw that featured in the points.

Roos News Wyong ventured to Duffy’s Reserve for the Round 4 series of matches against Terrigal. Poor weather threatened but ultimately failed to make an appearance. Although the Roos were outclassed by the Sharks in the Ladies League Tag match, the visitors finished well on top on the scoreboard in the rest of the games. Ladies League Tag – Sponsored by Dovmac Mining & Construction Terrigal 34 – Wyong 0The home team crossed inside the first minute of play when Tara Angel swooped on a kicked ball Wyong had failed to secure. The Roos, to their credit, regrouped and forced the Sharks to defend deep in their own territory for long periods, but lacked the speed or directness of play needed to breach the home team’s defence. Terrigal punched a hole in the Wyong defence in the 10th minute, and although the Roos successfully scrambled to kill off the immediate threat, the experienced Rachel Curnow was able to take advantage and touch down. The 12-0 halftime scoreline was encouraging from the visitors’ perspective, but it soon blew out in the second pe-riod when Casey Youngberry, then Tara Angel, Shani Waters and finally Kate Fullbrook crossed for the home team. Brittany Starr converted five of the six Terrigal tries. The skill level and game awareness of the Wyong ladies in general was below that of the opposition, who are the reigning premiers. The imminent return of players from Tarsha Gale rep duties can be expected to raise the Roos’ standard of play. Tanaya Millar was voted Players’ Player. Tanaya also received the Coach’s Award.Under 19’s – Sponsored by Fill & Carry Fruit Market at Kanwal Village. Wyong 42 – Terrigal 4The most pleasing aspect of this win was the patience displayed by the young Roos. Although the Sharks did not post their first points until the 56th minute of the match, the home team attacked this game with energy and a plan well capable of unsettling the visitors if they had been a little less focused. Lachlan Natapu scored Wyong’s opening try in the 22nd minute, and even though the green and gold were completing at a high level, the time taken to score was testament to the willing defence of the Sharks. The Roos led 24-0 at halftime and crossed for a trifecta of tries in the second period courtesy of Jedd Boreham, Tomi Kaati and Jessie Baillo. Kendyll Fahey kicked seven goals as well as grabbing a first half try for a personal haul of 18 points. Kendyll was Play-ers’ Player. Brad Falzon received the No Coward Award.Open Age – Sponsored by Citrus Clean Central CoastWyong 34 – Terrigal 14Terrigal was first to score in this match when Cameron Smith dived over from acting half in the 17th minute. Wyong appeared disjointed and absent a game plan at that point, but then kicked into gear. Kane Ralph intercepted a pass on his own try line and sprinted 100m to score Wyong’s opening try. Chris Brown was controversially awarded a try on the half hour mark after Gary Field and Paneere Kaaka combined on his inside. Jeremy Tunks found himself in space and bamboo-zled the retreating defence in the 33rd minute to touch down, and three conversions to Kaaka provided the 18-4 halftime scoreline. The Sharks bared their teeth from the restart. Quick tries to Brian King and Rhys Bryant, together with one conversion, reduced the difference to 18-14 by the 50th minute and it was game on. Terrigal had raised both their tempo and level of aggression. The Roos were nonplussed and searching for a response. The momentum was clearly with the home team until Chris Brown scored an 80m try on the back of a rapid right to left shift from a penalty. Further tries to Ben Morsillo and Brown (his third) put the issue beyond doubt. This was a pretty good game of football with both sides giving themselves an opportunity to win. Players’ Player went to Ben Morsillo and Dean Coughlan received this week’s No Coward Award. Reserve Grade – Sponsored by Optus Lakehaven Wyong 28 – Terrigal 6The Sharks were beaten Grand Finalists in 2017 and only last week had defeated reigning pre-miers The Entrance 12-4. The Roos had recorded three strong wins to date, and this looked to be a tough, close match in prospect. Brady Barwick cracked the defensive line in the 12th minute and offloaded to Jesse Stephen. Wyong then shifted the ball left. Jye Montgomery showed his experience, straightening and accelerating toward the opposition causing the outside defenders to hesitate. Montgomery passed to fullback Luke Dolbel spearing through a hole and into the ingoal. Stephen converted for a 6-0 lead. A short side play engineered by Matt Power released Tom Harvey to score in the 18th minute. The visitors crossed for a third via a short range effort from Shaq Mitchell, before Matt Burraston touched down for the home team’s only try in the 25th minute. A well worked set piece from a scrum on Terrigal’s 20m line freed Bryce Burgun to score. Although leading 22-6 at halftime, the Sharks were much closer in effort and intensity than that scoreline indicated. Wyong scored the only points of the second period, a converted try to Ezy Cooper-Tetevano. The second half scoreline was more indicative of the true nature of this match. Very refreshing to see centres running straight and passing to their wingers in space. “Another great team effort; first half some good team tries. Second half Terrigal came back at us, but our on-line defence was brilliant. Long way to go but looking good.”Les HannahJye was Players’ Player, and Jake Scicluna received the No Coward Award.1st Grade – Sponsored by Evolution Security Wyong 46 – Terrigal 4The Sharks were down on troops, consequent upon the ferocity of last week’s face off with The Entrance. The Roos were without skipper Alex Langbridge, away with the Australian Mixed Touch Football side. Wyong won three of the four encounters between the teams in 2017, but the Sharks got the cash in the only match which mattered. Coach Tony Clarke was keen for his team to make a statement. Premierships can be harder to defend than win in the first place. The visitors led 28-0 at halftime, crossing for five tries. Wyong were composed and energetic. The understrength home team, although fighting hard, had lost the battle through the middle third, and the Roos were just short of ruthless in converting opportunities. Jamy Forbes coached teams are renowned for staying in the contest, and despite the scoreline, Terrigal kept coming. Lachlan Bell powered through an inadequately defended left edge to score the Sharks only try in the 66th minute, but by that time Wyong had already clocked up 34 points. Greg Wisham and Wyatt Shaw scored late for the Roos in reply. Brad Keighran was voted Players’ Player. The No Coward Award went to Jake Lewis.

From President Desk. Another tuff day for our teams against Erina, this week our 1st grade & U/19 have byes which will allow them to regroup for Kincumber following week. Our Women’s Rugby league tackle team is going very well with a 56-nil win over Maitland at Maitland, this weekend play against Stockton at Stockton. On Friday 11th May they are playing North Newcastle at Berkeley Vale Oval under lights on Friday at 7.30pm. Get down to Berka and support Women. Thank you to all players and supporters for turning up at presentation this week is at Bateau Bay Bowling Club at 6pm. Kind Regards, Ken Smith JP, President.Reports1st Grade – Proudly sponsored by Toowoon Bay Carpets & ShuttersNo Report.2nd Grade – Proudly sponsored by Berkeley Vale Cellars.Big effort from the boys and especially the 19s that helped us out, unfor-tunately we give away too many penalties and we couldn’t hold onto the ball or get any 50-50 calls with a couple of tries disallowed. A couple of the boys went very well Dylan Smith was great on debut but unfortunately got a broken nose going for the try line and James Debono broke his ankle at training Friday Night before he even got to play. If we can hold on to the ball I think we can become a very good team, it’s hard to win without the ball. Our 3 Points went to Aaron Moss 2 to Max Townsend 1 to Luke Staunton. A special mention to Glen the Deputy Mensa hope you’re feeling better mate. Pete Johnson, they tell me there running Laminating classes at the oval Friday night just for you.Ladies League TagWhat an outstanding effort from our girls to lead Erina 2 nil at half time after Shansi’s first goal, with no bench the girls were destined to tire in the second half and to The Phil Crowe coached eagles credit they came out and minimised their mistakes. The top four teams from last year are behind us now and we look forward to proving ourselves each week. If the rest of the girls are available to help anything is possible, so let’s train and play. Players player went to Tara, with Points to Ash, Tara and Chloe. All the girls played great and made it very hard to pick any one player as a stand out. Welcome to Orana in her first game. Thanks to Katrina and Sandy for being on the gate and next time let’s get others to help out. No train no play we want committed players who know what’s going on when we play. Next up North Lakes.

Colts News Good luck to the Colts teams today at Toukley always a tough task at Darren Kennedy. Our 1st grade will be looking for back to back wins after a good effort last week de-spite being depleted. Reserves hopefully looking to get back on track after a good start to the season. 19’s a pleasant surprise coming from 0-16 down to put on 34 points for a great win. A very young 19’s who will keep sides honest, well done guys. Ladies tag also looking for two WINS ON THE TROT AND ARE ON THE IMPROVE EACH WEEK.1ST GRADEIn our last encounter the Premier Trade Centre 1st grade squad fought hard in a scrappy win against old foes Woy Woy. We got off to a great start but kept the roost-ers in the game with errors and defensive lapses. Anyways two points is better than none and finished being a great day out. Unfortunately we started with plenty of talent still on the sideline in Troy, BK, Murph, Tritto & Huzz so in the end it was great to get the biscuits in front of match day sponsor Plateau Tree Service. Standouts for the day were James Duchatel, Anthony Barbaro & Matt Stone while Tyson Potger had a day out in attack bagging a three meat pies. We were also pleased to see Dane Vawden make his debut for the club and although he came on late, did the job perfectly. Well done Dane.Another cracking night was had back at the Empire Bay Tavern and I hope this week will be no different following a good show from our squad against Toukley, it is common knowledge that the Hawks at home is a tough ask so good luck to all our teams to today.A quick shout out to our sponsors Bendigo Bank in Kincumber, Creightons Funeral Services, Michael Deakin of MKD Stainless and the team at Treads Tyres Kincum-ber. I look forward to seeing you all at the footy or back for a chat at the Tavern.RESERVE GRADEWasn’t a great day at the office last week against Woy Woy & with a few late pull outs left us a bit short. Jaxon Stubbs played one of his better games for the Colts & deservedly picked up the (3) points considering he was starting the game on the wing & finished up playing the whole game at lock. He tackled strong all game & was solid with the ball.Tyler Durbidge & El Rozario grabbed (2) points each purly just for effort, they never stopped the whole game & were terrific. (1) point went to Jacob Keeno from our Under 19’s, fantastic debut in the higher grade mate, plenty of heart & obviously will go a long way, much appreciated your effort. Off to Toukley this week we’re no doubt it will be a tough one. 19’SThe Colts Sidelines Sports Grill Under 19’s took on a big & strong Woy Woy side last week. Finally getting full roster playing was the first battle won. With this team being nearly all from the 18’s age group adjusting to playing older guys was the 2nd battle that needed to be one. That took them about 16 points & 20 minutes to do. After that point of being 16-0 down it was all the Colts putting on 34 unanswered points. A great effort from the boys after only having 2 training sessions together all year. A great team effort with Jesse Byrne picking up our Players Player & Jack Wenzel scoring what has become the most celebrated try in Colts history. Well done fellas & now time to knuckle down to some hard work at training to keep improving.TAGGreat start shown by the girls this week resulting in a early try. The girls defended really well stand out games to Leah Arnesen who got our 3 points Ranni played well having a hand in a try again with Ebony Harris putting the finishing touches to get the try and the conversion. Cassie played well having the final touches to set Ella up for 2 tries, it was Ella’s first game of League Tag. Aleshia and Teagan also both had a great game . It was great to get players back. Great team effort let’s keep it up Players player- Ella Burteux 3pts- Leah Arnesen2pts- Ranni Jackson 1pt- Cassie Moyes1pt-Ella Burteux 1pt- Teagan Powell

Toukley Hawks We are back from a week off due to the bye and the other grades played northlakes which was a tough away game in the local derby with opens winning there first game of the year featuring in that game was 3 under 19’s players which the 3 were all standouts in the win. Watching on the seconds have a draw and it’s showing the club is improving week to week. Up against Kincumber this week will test all teams out as Kincumber have been in good form. Another home game so hope to see you all there on Sunday. Reserve Grade went to play up at Northern Lakes in a great Sat-urday afternoon of footy. It was end to end footy from both sides with Toukley getting away to an early lead only to let the oppo-sition back into the game with some ill-discipline and handling errors. The Hawks scored with just two minutes left on the clock, with no pressure, Matt Dicks slotted the goal resulting in an 18 all draw. Best for The Hawks were Jack McCudden, Reece Ryan and Josh McDonald, who is still eligible for the Under 19’s. Spe-cial mention to Taj Kennedy from the 19’s who backed up for us after a game in Open Age.Our Open Age turned up against Northern Lakes hungry. The game was there to be won by either of the teams, fortunately we come up trumpswinning 26 -24. Credit to all the boys, we did not give in as North-ern Lakes never stopped coming at us. With the bye this week we can all enjoy the weekend off and get ready for Terrigal.Round 4 The Ladies League Tag took on Northern Lakes. We had 10 girls out for this one and it was fair to say it wasn’t our best performance. We have a lot of work to do at training and we need to move forward. A big thanks to Kandice, Renee and Emma for helping out. Best players were MJ, Kaelah and Tegan.

Again special mention to some of our sponsors Canton Beach Sports Club, Central Coast 4x4 Wreckers, Ray White- Thompson Partners, Swimart Charmhaven,

Poppi Concreting, Redmen Fire protection, Sunspec Opening Roofs,

GMS Legal and Hearts and Minds Barber Toukley.
