Subject: Implementation of Amendment No.4 to IS 778 : 1984 Specificationfor Copper Alloy Gate, Globe and Check Valves for Water WorksPurposes (Fourth Revision)

Amendment No.4, April 2012 to IS 778 : 1984 Specification for Copper Alloy Gate,Globe and Check Valves for Water Works Purposes (Fourth Revision) has beenpublished (copy enclosed). This Amendment does not require any change in theexisting Scheme of Testing and Inspection [ Doc: STI/778/4, November 1986]. Ithas been decided to implement this Amendment with immediate effect.

All ROs/BOs, operating licences for IS 778, are requested to inform thelicensees/applicants under their jurisdiction regarding implementation of the saidAmendment and ensure compliance.
