Introduction

Welcome to the Central Roadracing Association, an organization created to provide high qualitymotorcycle roadracing programs that emphasize safety, education and good sportsmanship.

Your safety is the driving force behind our operation. Safety procedures are reviewed on anongoing basis to ensure that needed improvements are made in a timely manner. CRA alsoprovides rider and staff education through classes, on-track training, published articles, andby example.

Our rulebook is designed to allow you to compete in as even and equitable an environmentas we know how to provide. In cases where the rulebook does not specifically address asituation, fair play and common sense will be the basis for decisions. Decisions will bemade without respect to individual competitors, but rather for fair and honest representationof all participants.

It is your responsibility to assess the facility, safety measures, weather conditions, and anyother considerations regarding the risk of competition at any given event. Our rulebook isintended as a guide for the conduct of our sport and is in no way a guarantee against injuryor death to participants, spectators or others. No express or implied warranty of safety shallresult from publication or of compliance with these rules and regulations. Participation in anevent indicates an assumption of all risks involved.

MEET: Meeting where one or more races are held

NEW RIDER: Anyone not licensed with another roadracing organization or has notfinished a CRA event within the last two years.

OEM: Original Equipment Manufacturer

PADDOCK: The area outside of the fenced track from the main gate to the fenced pit area.

PARTICIPANT: Anyone on racetrack grounds during a CRA event. Including, but notlimited to riders, crew, workers, spectators, and officials.

PIT: The fenced area surrounding the pit lane. At BIR, this area also includes theservice road on the far side of the chain link fence and the road from the Control Towerto the fuel pumps.

RACE OFFICIAL: Race Steward, or Chiefs of Staff and their designees

RIDER: Anyone who competes in a meet

VISUAL PROTEST: A visual protest focuses on the bike in “as raced” condition, andmay include removal of body panels, fairing and gas tank as necessary to view carbs,air box, etc.

Section 1 – Licensing1. All competitors must possess a current CRA license. Riders unfamiliar with the

race facility will be given an orientation after the rider’s meeting.

2. One New Rider’s seminar will be held before the CRA’s first meet and on-tracksessions will be held at subsequent race events. New Riders must complete theseminar and pass one of the on-track sessions. There will be make-up sessions ofthe classroom and on-track throughout the year. 3. Licenses will be issued with the riders classified as either Expert or Novice. CRAwill classify riders based upon experience and proven ability. Status may bechanged at any time by petitioning the Board of Directors.

4. Applicants must complete a membership form and are responsible for updating anychanges with the Chief of Medical.

5. Applicants less than 18 years of age must provide a notarized copy of the CRAMinor License Release Form signed by their parent or guardian. Licensing ofminors requires the approval of the Chief Steward.

6. NOVICES: Novice licenses will be issued to riders meeting the followingqualifications:i. New Riders

ii. Applicants possessing a Novice license from a recognized road racing organizationiii. Renewals by riders who have finished at least one CRA event in the past two yearsiv. Renewals by Novices who were not bumped to an expertv. Novices may not compete on unlimited division motorcycles, nor compete in

unlimited classes. Refer to sections 7, 8, and 9 for class legality and weightdivision structure.

7. During the first weekend, new riders cannot bump up a class.

8. EXPERTS: Expert licenses will be issued to riders meeting the followingqualifications:i. Renewals by riders who have finished at least one CRA event in the past two

yearsii. Applicants possessing an Expert license from a recognized road racing

organization.iii. Any Novice, who in the opinion of the Board of Directors, has attained Expert

performance levels.iv. Novices who were in the top 30% of the novice season point totals for one or

more of the competition weight divisions (i.e. ultralight, lightweight,middleweight, heavyweight) and must have a top 10 finish in a sprint race.Points earned in supersport, superbike, and grand prix will be combined forpurposes of assessing which novice riders will advance to expert status thefollowing season. New riders will not be advanced to expert status withoutdemonstrated ability and petitioning the Board of Directors.

v. Novices with 1 year or less experience will not be advanced to Expert statuswithout demonstrated ability and petitioning the Board of Directors.

9. A racer may only bump up two classes when entering races, based on the bike’sminimum class. If a bumped racer is significantly slower than the leader’s pace ortheir pace poses a safety hazard they may be black flagged and barred from futureraces of that class and any higher class at the race steward’s discretion.

Section 2 – General Rules1. Through the establishment and enforcement of various rules and procedures, CRA

strives to regulate the sport of motorcycle racing in the fairest possible manner. Byparticipating in a CRA meet, each participant agrees to abide by the CRA’s rules andprocedures. All parties involved in CRA races are expected to conduct themselves ina professional manner, respecting at all times the rights of others. Participation in theCRA race activities is a privilege and violation of CRA rules and procedures can leadto forfeiture of their competition licenses or event credential, fines, point deductions,lap deductions, disqualification and other disciplinary actions as outlined herein.

2. Everyone must register with CRA before entering the racing facilities. Rulesdirected or related to safety are promulgated to make all persons concerned withsafety aware, but the CRA neither warrants safety if the rules are followed norcompliance with and enforcement of rules. Each participant in competition has theresponsibility to assess the safety aspects of facilities and conditions. Attendanceat CRA event indicates the following:i. An assumption of all risks involved.ii. An agreement to waive liability of CRA and all other organizers, promoters and

sponsors.iii. Responsibility for any damage or injury in which he/she may become involved.

3. Everyone must openly display a valid pass. Fraudulent use of any pass will bepenalized as deemed appropriate.

4. Anyone camping at the race facility must have a camping pass.

5. No one may consume alcohol in the Paddock, Pits or trackside of the fencedracecourse until after the final checkered flag of the day.

6. Riders, crew, workers and officials may not consume alcohol until the finalcheckered flag of the day unless they are in the BIR infield and remain there untilthe final checkered flag of the day.

7. Riders in restricted areas found under the influence of alcohol or any othersubstance that affects mental or physical abilities before the final checkered flag ofthe day will be disqualified from all remaining events of the weekend and subjectto suspension of competition license.

8. Anyone using illicit drugs will be removed from the race facility.

9. Drunk and/or disorderly conduct will not be tolerated at any time. The CRA Officialsmay escort you out of the facility for the weekend.

10. Race engines and other loud vehicles may only run between 9:00am and 6:00pm.No amplified music or loud noises after 10:00pm. Fireworks are prohibited.

11. No stopping or spectating on the BIR infield bridge during racing or practice.

12. No vehicle may be driven or lifted over any fence.

13. Spectators are not allowed in the Control Tower or inside the fenced racecourse.

14. Everyone must obey the posted speed limit.

15. Pets must be attended, leashed and controlled at all times when not in a vehicle.Unleashed pets will be impounded at the owner’s expense.

16. Children must be supervised at all times. All operators of motorized vehicles musthave a driver’s license. Bicycle riders in the Paddock must also have a driver’s license.

17. Each rider is responsible for the behavior and actions of all persons, either guestsor crew, attached to him/her. Any punitive action required as a result of actions byguests or crew will be levied against the rider.

18. Anyone engaging in unfair practice or behavior in violation of CRA or race facility rulesor action “detrimental to the sport of motorcycling in general” whether related to specificcompetition or not, may be disqualified or subject to expulsion from CRA activities.

19. No motor vehicle may be operated upon the go-kart track. Violators may be finedby BIR and have their vehicles impounded by security.

20. Unsportsmanlike conduct i.e., Burnouts, “lighting up”, or spinning the rear tire in thepits, on pit lane, or in the paddock, is not allowed. Offending riders will be penalizedand/or fined.i. 1st offense results in a verbal warningii. 2nd offense results in a $50 fineiii. 3rd offense results in a loss of race license for a time to be determined by the

Chief Race Steward.

21. Wheelies in the paddock area are not allowed. Offending riders will be penalizedand/or fined. Wheelies done on track or hot pits in a manner that endangers othersmay cause the offending rider to be penalized.i. During a race the penalty will be a “STOP and GO”ii. During a practice session the penalty will be the loss of the practice session.

22. A rider must report to the Chief Race Steward after any unsportsmanlike infractionhas occurred. He/She must report before the involved rider may resume his racingand/or practice.

23. Dishonored checks or declined charge cards will be cause for a fine and immediatesuspension from further competition. Fine will be $25 and suspension will be fromthe date of redemption of the dishonored check/charge until the debt and fine hasbeen paid. Check writing and charge card privileges will be withdrawn from chronicoffenders. Any dishonored checks or declined charge cards which are not redeemedwithin 30 days of notification to the rider, will result in the loss of all points earned tothe date of notification. All bad debts will be printed in the newsletter.

Section 3 – Pit Regulations1. No minors, other than licensed racers are allowed in the pit area. Only riders and

crew are allowed in the pit areas.

2. No pets allowed in the Pits.

3. Anyone over the pit wall must wear long pants, a shirt and shoes. Persons signalingriders at trackside wall may wear shorts. No red or yellow clothing will be allowed.

4. SUPPORT VEHICLES:i. Vehicles must park perpendicular to the pit wall.ii. Vehicles cannot protrude onto or over the asphalt behind the pit wall.iii. Trailers must be disconnectediv. Vehicles may be parked only one deepv. Support vehicles may park only on the drag return side of chain link fence.

There is no parking on the pit side of the chain link fence.vi. Only two vehicles (including trailers, excluding bikes) are allowed per pit.vii. All pit bikes must display the rider’s competition number. It is strongly advised

that all four-wheeled vehicles also display the rider or team competition number

5. Smoking allowed only within arm’s reach of the chain link fence.

6. GASOLINE:i. Must be stored in state-approved containers and sealed when not in use.ii. Pressurized gasoline containers are prohibited.iii. Fuel towers are not allowediv. All gasoline must be stored off the asphalt down in the hot pitsv. No gasoline may be stored within the garages

7. REFUELING:i. Rider must dismountii. Engine must be shut offiii. Someone must be standing within five feet of the motorcycle with a 10BC fire

extinguisher at the ready. “At the ready” means ready to pull the safety pins,catches, latches, etc.

iv. The use of a funnel while refueling during a race is prohibited

8. Riders are advised to bring a 10BC fire extinguisher

9. TRAFFIC at BIR:i. All traffic on the trackside of the chain link fence (both paved and grassy areas)

is one way, 10MPH, in the direction of the track flow.ii. Traffic on the far side of the chain link fence (the pit return road) is also one way,

10MPH, in the opposite direction of track flow.iii. No vehicular traffic is permitted on the asphalt next to the pit wall.

10. No welding is allowed in the pits.

11. PIT SIGNALS:i. No one may sit, stand, kneel, or lean on the concrete barrier along the front

straight of the track from Pit Entrance to Pit Exit.ii. No one may place anything on the concrete barrier.iii. No one may reach or hold a sign over the concrete barrieriv. Everyone should face traffic when standing beside the concrete barrier.v. No one is allowed to spectate from the concrete barrier.vi. Two personnel per team, maximum, may signal rider and run lap charts in the

area between the hot pit lane and the trackside wall. Crossing of the hot pit laneshould be kept to an absolute minimum.

12. Riders must inform Pit 0 what pit they are using.

Section 4 – Race Procedures1. Racers who pre-register for races may receive a refund if they request the refund

in writing 1 week prior to the event. There will be a $5.00 administration chargewithheld from the refund.

2. Entry fees will not be refunded after a rider has passed Technical Inspection. Adisqualified rider forfeits all entry fees.

3. Class entries cannot be changed after race registration has closed.

4. Riders must use their assigned competition number in all sprint and trophy dashevents. Riders may use another rider’s number in practice only with the RaceSteward’s permission.i. SUBSTITUTION: Motorcycle substitution before a race is allowed provided that:

(a) The motorcycle is legal for the class.(b) The motorcycle has passed Technical Inspection(c) The rider has notified the Race Steward

5. All grids are final 30 minutes after posting.

6. RIDERS’ MEETINGSi. Riders’ meetings are held per the schedule available from Registration. These

meetings are intended to inform riders of track conditions and changes inprocedures.

ii. All riders must attend the riders’ meeting and sign the “check in” clipboard.Riders who miss the riders’ meeting must report to the Race Steward prior togoing on track.

iii. Failure to attend a Riders’ Meeting and sign the “check-in” clipboard may resultin a one-lap penalty in the riders’ first race.

iv. Riders who miss the Riders’ Meeting and fail to report to the Race Steward areprohibited from practicing and racing.

7. The Race Steward will announce when the track is open for practice.

8. TRACK FLOWi. Track flow is clockwise unless indicated otherwiseii. Traffic on pit lane is in the same direction as track flowiii. Exit the racecourse by moving towards the left side of the track while signaling

racers and staff by raising an armiv. Exiting the racecourse through Pit Exit is prohibitedv. Riders entering the racecourse through Pit Exit must obey the signals from Pit Exit

personnel, check on-coming traffic and keep left until racing speed is attained.

9. FLAGS: The following flag signals shall be obeyed WITHOUT QUESTION:i. GREEN – A race is underway the instant a green flag is displayed at

Start/Finish, the green flag indicates the course is open.ii. WHITE – A white flag is a courtesy flag, displayed only at the Start/Finish,

indicates one lap to go.iii. CHECKERED – A checkered flag indicates the end of the race or practice

session. Riders must proceed to the track exit.iv. STATIONARY YELLOW – A stationary yellow flag indicates a potentially

dangerous situation near the track. USE CAUTION! Passing is allowed.

v. WAVING YELLOW – A waving yellow flag indicates a hazard or obstacle existson the track. USE EXTREME CAUTION! Reduce speed and be prepared toavoid the obstacle. No passing from the waving yellow flag until past theincident. Undue speed can be an infraction.

vi. RED – A red flag means the race has been suspended. Competition mustcease immediately with all riders slowing to a safe and reasonable speed andproceeding to pit zero without stopping at the race suspending incident. Thereis NO passing under RED flag. The red flag will be displayed at the Start/Finishas well as all other stations. If less than half the race has been completed, it willbe restarted from the original grid position. Penalized riders will start from theback row. If more than half the race has been run, the race may be consideredcompleted, with no restart. Riders will be scored according to the positions heldin the lap preceding the red flag.

vii. BLACK – A black flag indicates a problem. The indicated rider shouldacknowledge the flagman, complete a lap, and immediately report to Pit 0.Failure to report may result in disqualification. A rider’s number may bedisplayed with the black flag.

viii. MEATBALL – A black flag with an orange circle in the center indicates that therider has committed an infraction that carries a penalty. The rider must stop atPit 0 for a Stop and Go penalty.

ix. YELLOW WITH RED STRIPES – A stationary yellow flag with vertical redstripes indicates debris or developing rain somewhere on the track between theflag and the next flagging station. This flag will be displayed when conditionschange for the worse, and held for two laps.

x. GREEN WITH BLACK STRIPES – A stationary green flag with black stripesindicates oil or a foreign substance has been spilled, or a slippery or dangerouscondition exists somewhere on the track between the flags and the next flaggingstation. Also displayed when conditions change for the worse, and held for two laps.

xi. WHITE WITH RED CROSS – A white flag with a red cross indicates that amoving ambulance or slow vehicle is on the course. Passing is allowed. Passthe ambulance with caution. This flag is displayed motionless at the previous 2corner stations before the ambulance and at the incident. If the ambulance isstopped, the prior station will display a yellow or waving yellow flag in additionto the stationary ambulance flag as appropriate.

xii. ROLLED UP AND CROSSED GREEN AND WHITE – A rolled up and crossedgreen and white flags may be shown at Start/Finish at the flagman’s discretionto indicate the halfway point in the race.

10. All riders must check in with the Medic or Corner Captain and report to the infirmaryafter crashing, falling, or being injured. The rider must bring their helmet, leathers,and gloves with them to the infirmary. Failure to report can result in disqualification.Rider may ride the bike into the pits at the Corner Captain’s discretion.

11. Any motorcycle that is black-flagged for mechanical problems, has crashed, or onwhich major repairs have been made must be re-teched prior to resuming competition.

12. The Race Steward will announce when crews may pick up stranded motorcycles.Pick-up crews must report to Pit Exit before entering the racecourse.

13. If a rider slows or stops his/her motorcycle on the course for any reason, it is his/herduty to indicate so immediately by raising the left hand and to place the motorcycle

in such a manner as to cause no danger or obstruction to other competitors. Ridersmay receive assistance from corner workers in starting the motorcycle.

14. STARTING PROCEDURES:i. A first, second and third call to grid will be made prior to each race. Motorcycles

must gather at the grid gate at this time.ii. Motorcycles may enter the track when the five-minute board is displayed and

may then proceed around the track in normal race direction prior to the three-minute board being displayed.

iii. At the three-minute board racers may not take the warm-up lap but must taketheir assigned grid positions.

iv. A two-minute sign will be displayed at which time the motorcycles should be intheir grid positions. All crew members and others MUST leave the track surface.The Grid Marshall shall close the entrance gate. Riders who have not reportedby that time must start from Pit 0 immediately after the last wave, at thedirection of Pit 0.

v. A one-minute board will be displayed. All riders NOT in the first wave must raisetheir left hand to shoulder height or above. Any rider behind the last row of thegrid may not continue to his/her grid position but must stop behind the last rowand take the green flag with that wave.

vi. Riders with stalled motorcycles will raise their arms and remain in place. Therider’s crew must wait behind the metal Armco barrier until directed back on thetrack surface by the Grid Marshall.

vii. The one-minute sign will be displayed in the horizontal position. All motorcyclesin the first wave should be in gear. The green flag will be waved anytime withinten seconds.

viii. A separate green flag will be waved five to fifteen seconds later for riders insubsequent waves.

ix. Separate classes run on the track at the same time may start in separate wavestarts.

x. These Start Procedures may be modified by the Race Stewardxi. A jump-start will result in a stop and go penalty. A Meatball Flag and rider

number will be displayed. If the rider fails to stop at Pit 0 for the stop and gopenalty, a one-lap penalty will be assessed.

15. FINISHING PROCEDURES:i. To avoid being struck from behind, do not slow abruptly when crossing the

finish at the end of the race. Instead, gradually decrease your speed andproceed on through the cool-off lap, leaving the track at pit entrance.

ii. Riders who receive the checkered flag in practice must exit the racecourse atPit Entrance. The marked return road may only be used only if you have amechanical problem.

iii. To be considered a finisher, a rider must have completed 75% of the lapscompleted by the leader, rounded down.

16. The responsibility for the decision to pass another rider rests with the overtakingrider. Any rider appearing to be deliberately blocking another motorcycle seeking topass may be black-flagged.

17. A bright colored T-shirt, supplied by the CRA, worn over the leathers indicateseither a New Rider or a slow moving rider.

18. Crew Members are not allowed on the trackside of the fence without permissionfrom the Race Steward or Corner Captain.

19. Any bike that leaves the hot track or hot pits is disqualified.

SECTION 5 – RIDER EQUIPMENT1. All competitors are required to wear the following equipment while riding in practice

or competition:i. A full coverage helmet bearing a label of compliance to either: Snell Foundation

Specification, or, Dot FM VSS 218, or any FIM certification with a date ofmanufacture no earlier than 5 years prior to the first CRA event of the season.The helmet must have no damage to either the shell or the liner. No aftermarketquick releases will be allowed.

ii. Leather boots at least eight inches high.iii. Leather glovesiv. A full set of leathers, or other material approved by the AMA, or other

recognized roadracing association for competition. Two-piece leathers must besecurely fastened together with a heavy-duty zipper that completely goesaround the whole jacket and pants. The Technical Inspector and the RaceSteward must approve any exceptions.

v. A mouthpiece is required for racers who wear dentures. Failure to usemouthpiece or remove dentures will result in a loss of insurance coverage.

2. All competitors are advised to wear a back protector.

3. All New Riders must present the above equipment at Technical Inspection and beapproved by the Technical Inspector. Racers are subject to gear approval at anytime. Racers must have all gear checked after crashing.

4. Rain apparel worn over leathers must withstand racing speeds. Riders with rainsuits failing to meet this standard may be black-flagged.

5. Recommend all riders put their name and/or rider number on their helmet duringthe Endurance Race.

6. Titanium toe and knee sliders will not be allowed.

SECTION 6 – MOTORCYCLE AND TECHNICAL INSPECTIONREQUIREMENTSBefore any motorcycle will be allowed on the racecourse, it must meet certainminimum safety requirements and be inspected and approved by Technical Inspection.The primary emphasis of this inspection is race worthiness; compliance with Sections7, 8, and 9 is secondary. The burden of proving the legality of a motorcycle rests withthe entrant and it is the responsibility of the rider and/or crew to bring to the attentionof the Technical Inspection any area that may be in question. Safety wire used mustbe stainless steel and a minimum of 0.025 inches in diameter or approved safety clipsmay be used to secure bolts.

1. Engine and drive train:i. All fill and drain plugs for oil and water must be safety wired, except radiator caps.

ii. Fork drains (if bike has them) must be secured with tape or safety wire.iii. Gallery Plugs (bolts with internal heads) may be bead silicone around the edge.iv. For cartridge type oil filter housings safety wire the bolt or bolts securing it to

the motor. For spin-on oil filters attach a hose clamp around filter and safetywire the clamp to the motor so the filter will not come loose.

2. All four(4) stroke motorcycles must be equipped with a rigid lower fairing belly panor a diaper capable of containing a minimum of 3 quarts of liquid. Non-rigid bellypans such as turkey pans will not be allowed unless it is contained in a rigid fairingthat otherwise may not contain liquid. A maximum of 2 holes 25mm (maximum)in diameter may be drilled in the lower fairing. These holes must be pluggedduring dry conditions, but may be opened for wet racing conditions.

3. Axle nuts must be secured with safety wire or cotter pins. Axle pinch bolts and/ornuts must be safety-wired.

4. Brake torque arm fasteners must be secured with safety wire or cotter pins or locknuts.

5. Side stands, center stands, mirrors, turn signals, license plates and otheraccessories must be removed.

6. Headlights, taillights, and similar shatter prone glass and plastic must be taped orremoved. Do not use red or clear tape on the taillight.

7. Passenger footrests must be removed or secured in the up position.

8. All motorcycles must have a handlebar-mounted kill switch.

9. Kick-start levers may be retained if they are secured in the up position and thepinch bolt is safety-wired.

10. Tires must be in good condition.

11. Motorcycles must have mufflers. Baffles and add-on mufflers must be safety-wired.

12. Metal valve stem caps with rubber seals inside are required.

13. All fluid-carrying lines must be secured by hose clamps or other suitable devicesunless more stringent requirements are specified elsewhere. Temperature andpressure sending units are excluded and may be left alone.

14. Only water, “Water Wetter” or the equivalent of propylene glycol is allowed in thecooling systems of liquid-cooled engines (propylene glycol that is green in colorsuch as “Sierra” brand antifreeze may not be used.) Riders using Ethylene Glycolbased anti-freeze or any additives are subject to disqualification and suspension.

15. Catch tanks are required for coolant systems and open engine vents. Catch tanksmust be capable of holding twelve fluid ounces as installed on the motorcycle. Ifthe motorcycle originally had the crankcase vented to the air box, the air box ventmust be routed to the catch bottle. If you prefer you may route the crankcase ventdirectly into the catch bottle, you must then plug the hole left in the air box to be

legal for Supersport racing classes. OEM or aftermarket overflow bottles areconsidered to be catch bottles. (The idea is to keep all of the overflow tubes thatran to the ground routed to a catch bottle. This will prevent liquids from reachingthe track.)

16. Brake light and horn circuits must be disconnected.

17. All connections on OEM oil lines must be intended by the manufacturer for use withmotor oil (100 psi working pressure minimum) and all connections between theselines and oil coolers, filters or other fittings must be threaded type and safety-wiredor siliconed. Using hose clamps to secure non-OEM oil lines are prohibited. OEMor aftermarket overflow bottles are considered to be catch bottles.

18. New riders must wear a colored T-shirt supplied by the CRA. Any rider whoanticipates riding at a slower than normal pace is recommended to wear one as well.

19. All motorcycles must have properly operating front and rear brakes.

20. All motorcycles must have a self-closing throttle.

21. Only petroleum fuels and gasohol are allowed. No fuel additives other than octaneboosters or oil are permitted.

22. Oxidizers and nitrous oxide induction systems are prohibited.

23. All brake caliper-mounting bolts must be safety wired.

24. NUMBERS: The following samples show the type and style recommended to passtechnical inspection: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.i. Numbers are assigned by the CRA.ii. All competitors must use black numbers. Numbers must be six to eight inches

high. Lettering must be done in a professional manner. Only painted orcommercially available stick-on numbers are permitted. Only numbers and theTech Inspection sticker may appear on the number plate.

iii. Number plates must be a minimum of ten inches high and twelve inches wide.Novice riders must use yellow number plates and Experts must use whitenumber plates. Plates may be painted or plastic and/or stick-on vinyl tape.

iv. All motorcycles must have one number plate mounted on the front of themotorcycle with an additional plate on each side mounted behind the rider andas high as practical. Plates should be mounted as flat as possible. Frontnumber plate is recommended to be at center of front fairing or rider’sright of any air intake. (a) Bikes such as Honda F2’s and F3’s which have unusually small and curvedtail sections must use hard plastic plates that when mounted are not curved tocontours of the bodywork. Taller aftermarket tail sections are exempt.a. General requirements:

1) two placement options are permitted for the rear tail section andside number display:a) Numbers mounted on both sides of the rear tail sectionb) Numbers mounted on top of the rear tail section (single number

plate) with the number orientated to be viewed from the rear ofthe motorcycle.

2) In addition to the above, numbers may be mounted on the side ofthe main fairing. Rider may not block side numbers when uprighton the motorcycle.

3) In addition to one of the above number plate locations, numbersmay be mounted on the underside of the rear tail section with thenumber oriented to be viewed from the rear of the motorcycle.

v. Motorcycles with illegible numbers will be black-flagged. Riders must correctplates and/or numbers before re-entering the track. Riders may not receivepoints for races they compete with using illegible numbers.

vi. Any rider needs to register for at least 1 race in a 2-year period to retain his/herbike number; this rule becomes effective at the end of the 2004 season.

25. It is recommended that wheel weights affixed by an adhesive be secured by a layerof duct tape.

26. SOUND TESTING. All motorcycles must pass the following sound test written initem A. If a bike fails test a, items b-d will be used for trackside testing.a. Noise limit at BIR is 102dBA at 100 feet from center of the track.b. Engine speed of 1/2 red line, or if not known, a speed in rpm=306,000 divided

by the stroke in millimeters.c. Sound meter will be held at a 45-degree angle, 20 inches from the loudest mufflerd. Sound limit is 105 dB on the A weighted scale.

27. The Rules Forum, with the approval of the Board of Directors, can reclassifymotorcycles due to demonstrated performance.

28. All motorcycles must have either a rear fender or bodywork extending back to apoint at least perpendicular to the rear axle.

29. Aftermarket fuel tank protectors are required on motorcycles where the fueltank is known or likely to contact the ground during a crash.Currently, the 06 and newer Yamaha R6 requires protectors with othermodels added by the Chief Race Steward & Tech as needed.Current industry approved protectors are made by:a) Traxxion Dynamics (www.traxxion.com)b) Erospace Technologies Inc. (www.eti-fuelcel.com)

30. All motorcycles are recommended to have commercially available case guards onany cover that contains oil. The following models MUST have case guards: YAMFZR 400 and 600 and YZF 600, KAW ZX6 and ZX6R, SUZ pre-93 GSXR’s bothsides and newer than 92 GSXR’s right side. Case guards may be in the form ofstrengthened side covers. This list is subject to change by the Board of Directorsor the Chief of Technical Inspection at any time.

31. All motorcycles competing in a CRA sanctioned event must display a CRA stickeron both sides of the motorcycle.

32. When a racer has been informed in person by a Race official that their transponderis malfunctioning it is the rider’s responsibility to correct problem or obtain adifferent transponder. Failure to do so may result in the rider not being scored.

SECTION 7 – SUPERSPORT MOTORCYCLESSupersport motorcycles are based on D.O.T. approved production motorcycles sold bymanufacturers and their dealers for street use. Proof of this street-legal intent may beprovided in the form of a title, motor vehicle department tag receipt or Statement ofOrigin, none of which may bear the notation “For Off Road Use Only”. Dirt bikes suchas a YZ 450F are exempt from the “For Off Road Use Only” rule and they may makewheel modifications to 17" rims. All supersport motorcycles must meet the standardsof Section 6 as well as the following:

1. A minimum of 200 units for multies or 50 units for twins must have been availablethrough United States dealers via normal commercial channels or must be identicalto U.S. specifications, proof of which rests with the competitor.

2. Motorcycles must be raced as originally manufactured, except as required orpermitted by Section 7. When in doubt about a modification use the rule of noremoval or addition of material, except any bodywork may be added.

3. Handlebars and controls may be changed.

4. Suspension springs may be preloaded or replaced with aftermarket product.Internals may be changed but stock mounts must be used.a. Rear shocks may be replaced with aftermarket shocks, stock mounts must be used.

5. Foot pegs and controls may be relocated or replaced with aftermarket products.

6. The original equipment air box and filter must be used with no modificationsallowed. Commercially available aftermarket or OEM air filters may be used. Noadditional means may be employed to increase airflow into the air box or throughthe filter. This includes catch bottle fitment.

7. Starters and charging systems are required and must be connected and functionalbefore, during and after the event.

8. Final driver ratios and drive chains may be changed.

9. 3-4 cylinder pistons may be replaced up to and including 1mm over the originalstock bore. 2 cylinder pistons may be replaced up to an including 2mm over theoriginal stock bore. The compression ratio must remain stock.No overbores allowed on any machine for production year 1997 and newerunless currently available as a maintenance item from the manufacturer.Compression ratios must remain stock.a) models that have been in production and unchanged for a 5 year period

crossing over the 1997 cut-off are allowed up to mm 1overbore.Cosmetics and bodywork will not be considered “model changes”, solong as the drive train and chassis are of the same spec. Compressionratios must remain stock.

10. The following are examples of what can be done but are not stated above:i. Rechamber ports after cylinder boringii. Resurface warped cylinder heads.iii. Replace valves, guides and recut seats with OEM or aftermarket parts of the

same size, shape and weight

12. Cables and brake lines may be replaced with aftermarket products.

13. Fairings, horns and non-functional side covers may be removed. No otherbodywork may be removed.

14. Steering dampers and fork braces may be installed.

15. The exhaust system may be replaced with an aftermarket product.

16. Brake pads may be replaced with aftermarket products.

17. Brake rotors must remain OEM, except for motorcycles originally equipped with asingle front rotor, which may use an aftermarket OEM replacement, excludingcarbon fiber. Carriers and calipers MUST remain stock.

18. Holes may be drilled in brake disks for weight reduction or improved braking.

19. A motorcycle with 18" OEM rims may replace with 17" OEM rims.

SECTION 10 – GRAN PRIX (GP) MOTORCYCLESGran Prix motorcycles are considered to be two(2) stroke or four(4) stroke motorcyclesexpressly designed for road racing and not having DOT approval as street bikes.

1. All (GP) motorcycles must meet the requirements of Section 6, but are free from allother restrictions

SECTION 11 – OFFENSES, PENALTIES, PROTESTS ANDAPPEALS1. GENERAL INFORMATION

a. Through its protest and appeal procedures, the CRA provides a system ofadministrative review in the event of disputes, which are eligible for suchreview. The goal of the CRA’s protest and appeal procedures is to assure fairand consistent enforcement of rules and objective review of protests andappeals lodged by or against participants.

b. Any participant who is fined under these rules will be deemed suspended fromall CRA sanctioned activities until the fine has been paid. The fined party isentitled to a receipt upon payment. All fines and other disciplinary actions leviedby Race Stewards must be explained in writing. A copy should be given to thedisciplined party.

c. Any participant under suspension, or otherwise disciplined under these rules ofcompetition, may be reinstated by action of, and at the sole discretion of the CRA.

2. GENERAL OFFENSES AND PENALTIESa. This section outlines actions which are deemed to be detrimental to the sport of

motorcycle racing and which may result in a range of disciplinary actions. Unlessotherwise specifically provided for in these rules, the Race Steward maydisqualify any participant or motorcycle from the balance of a race meet forviolation of these rules, insubordination or other actions deemed in the solediscretion of the Race Steward to be detrimental to the race meet and the sport.Such disqualification includes the loss of any rights with regard to the event inquestion and may result in expulsion from the meet site. In addition, the RaceSteward is empowered to levy fines and to recommend to the CRA BOARD OFDIRECTORS that a party or parties be suspended from participation in the CRAsanctioned activities. Unless otherwise specifically provided for in these rules, theCRA is empowered to suspend from competition any rider, crew member ofmotorcycle for a period of one meet up to an indefinite suspension for violation ofthese rules, insubordination, or other actions deemed, in the sole discretion of theCRA, to be detrimental to the sport of motorcycle racing. The CRA is alsoempowered to, in addition to or in lieu of a suspension from competition, suspenda rider’s eligibility to earn points for one or more events including, but not limitedto, the event in which the rules violation took place. In addition, the CRA is

empowered to levy fines, points deductions and lap deductions. The beginningand ending dates of any such suspension will be as determined by the CRA.

b. Any supplemental rules, regulations, instructions or procedures established bythe CRA for the purpose of implementing, interpreting, or enforcing these ruleswill be deemed to be part of the rules.

c. The following offenses will be subject to disciplinary action by the Race Steward.This list is provided as guidance to licensed competitors and event credentialholders but does not restrict the CRA from invoking penalties for other actionsdetrimental to the sport, which are not specifically contemplated herein.

i. Falsifying one’s age or ability to meet any of the various eligibility requirementsas set forth by the CRA, or in general, competing or attempting to compete inCRA sanctioned activities under false pretenses.

ii. Competing under a false name or in any other way attempting to gain an unfairadvantage.

iii. Abetting or knowingly engaging in any race in which the result is “fixed” or pre-arranged.

iv. Giving, offering or promising, directly or indirectly, any bribe in any forms to anyperson in an attempt to circumvent CRA rules or procedures or to otherwisegain an unfair advantage.

v. Accepting or offering to accept any bribe in any forms from any person in an attemptto circumvent CRA rules or procedures or to otherwise gain an unfair advantage.

vi. Refusing to provide a factual statement regarding an item under appeal whenrequested by the CRA or a party to the appeal, or interfering in any way withthe CRA’s protest and appeal procedures in order to influence the outcome.

vii. Engaging in a rider boycott, public protest or other similar concerted activitymeant to stop, delay, or otherwise inhibit the start of completion of any portionof a CRA event.

viii. Engaging in any unfair practice, misbehavior or action detrimental to the sportof motorcycling in general, whether or not related to specific competition.

ix. An attack, including but not limited to verbal or physical altercation, on a CRAofficial, event participant or to the general public attending the meet. Thisincludes any person who is involved in an altercation anywhere on the premisesprior to, during, or after a CRA event. There will be no maximum fine orsuspension period for this offense.

x. Refusal to submit a machine for inspection. Any rider refusing to immediatelysurrender his or her machine to the Race Steward or his designee upondemand, or refusing to allow examination or measurement of a machine’scomponents, will be in violation of these rules.

xi. Failure to re-enter the track at a point as close as practical to the point at whichthe rider left the track; and in so doing gaining an unfair advantage. Theresulting penalty is a stop and go penalty.

xii. Receiving any form of prohibited outside assistance, including, but not limitedto, receiving radio transmissions while in competition, except as provided for inthese rules.

xiii. Failure to appear for scheduled registration and/or pre or post race techinspection. Penalty: A fine and/or disqualification from the race meet

xiv. Failing to immediately respect and comply with operational or warningflags/lights or other signals from CRA officials

xv. Failure to attend riders’ meetingsxvi.Riding at any time in such a manner as to endanger the life or limb of other

riders, officials or the publicxvii. Wagering by a participant on the outcome of any CRA sanctioned race

xviii.Causing a race to be stopped. At the sole discretion of the meet Race Steward,a rider who is judged to be the cause of a red flag may be excluded fromrestarting the event in question.

xix.Any other act or actions deemed by a meet Race Steward or the CRA to bedetrimental to the sport of motorcycling and the Central RoadracingAssociation.

3. EQUIPMENT OFFENSES AND PENALTIESa. This section deals with violations of equipment regulations. Regardless of a

motorcycle passing prior inspections, compliance with all applicable equipmentrules must be made at the post race inspection. Any motorcycle found to be inviolation of equipment rules might be assumed to have been in violation for theentire race meet. In passing a motorcycle through technical inspection, theCRA does not warrant that motorcycle’s adherence with all rules. Eachparticipant assumes full responsibility for any violation of equipment rulesinvolving his/her motorcycle.

b. Equipment offenses are divided into two types:i. Category 1 – An equipment violation that could potentially or effectively

enhance the performance of a motorcycle used in competition.ii. Category 2 – All other equipment violations

c. The Race Steward, after consulting with the Chief Technical Inspector, willdecide into which category the offense falls.i. Under the direction of the Race Steward and Chief Technical Inspector,

motorcycles or components may be impounded for up to 8 days followingan event in which such motorcycles or components were utilized incompetition, to allow for detailed or independent inspection and testing.

ii. In the case of an appeal, the CRA may retain custody of impoundedequipment until the appeal process has been completed.

d. Penalties: At the discretion of the Race Steward, any or all of the followingpenalties may be administered:i. Category 1

(1) Disqualification(2) Total or partial loss of points or laps(3) Total or partial loss of prize money(4) Suspension(5) Fine

ii. Category 2(1) Total or partial loss of points or laps(2) Fine(3) Disqualification

4. PROTESTS:a. Unless specifically excluded herein, riders may lodge protests on any matter

regarding an event in which they were a participant. Such matters may include,but are not limited to, the conformity of a machine with these rules or theeligibility of a rider.

b. Each protest must be made separately and in writing. Each protest must specifythe violation of CRA rules or procedures, which is alleged, and must beaccompanied by a filing fee (See Section E, PROTEST FEES).

c. There will be three types of protests: visual, technical and administrative. Visualprotests relate to the legality of motorcycles and components used incompetition, where compliance or noncompliance with the rules can be

confirmed visually. Technical protests relate to the legality of motorcycles andcomponents used in competition, where some type of measuring device orteardown procedure is needed to confirm compliance or noncompliance withthe rules. All other protests will be defined as administrative.

d. Protests will not be accepted on decisions of CRA officials with respect to theinterpretation of CRA rules as they pertain to race procedures or CRA officepolicies. Such decisions include, but are not limited to: establishment of gridsand assignment of starting positions, the start of the race, the control of themotorcycles, the decision to delay, stop or shorten a race, establishment ofrestart grids, the display of the black flag, assessment of lap or time penalties,and disqualifications (see also Appeals), whether from a single event or theentire race meet.

e. The Race Steward will render decisions on all protests as soon as possible. Ifit is not possible to render an immediate decision, the Race Steward may allowa protested rider to compete “under protest”. In such cases, the Race Stewardwill withhold payment of all affected points and monies pending a decision onthe protest.

f. The Race Steward will be empowered to levy the appropriate penalty listedunder General Offenses and Penalties or Equipment Offenses and Penalties asthe result of a protest and subsequent investigation.

g. Once made, a protest cannot be withdrawn without the permission of the RaceSteward.

h. If the Race Steward decides a protest in the favor of the protesting party, theRace Steward will refund the protest fee and forward his report in writing to theCRA BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

i. If the Race Steward decides a protest in favor of the protested party, they willbe entitled to the protest fee.

j. A rider may only make protests in the same class and of the same Status asthe protested rider.

k. Participants in a protest are limited to the protested rider, the protesting rider,the Technical Inspector and the Race Steward (or designees).

l. Once a protest is lodged, the responsibility for providing legality rests with theprotested rider. Failure to provide the necessary proof of legality will upholdthe protest. A protested bike unavailable for inspection automatically forfeitsthe protest.

5. PROTEST FEESa. A protest regarding equipment, which does not require any mechanical

disassembly or a protest of race operations, does not require a payment of afee. The exception to this is as follows:i. $25.00 to check the charging system

b. Internal protests require payment of the following fees. Any requested protestwill check the part being protested and will check all parts covered in thefollowing protestsi. $25.00 removal of air box to visually inspect ports.ii. $100.00 removal of valve cover. Will check for stampings on cams and

signs of welded cams.iii. $150.00 removal of cams. Will check lift and duration against new factory

original parts.iv. $175.00 motor. Using a brette, measuring oil at TDC and also at BDC to

calculate motor size and compression ratio. Compression ratio will becompared to the factory service manual.

v. $250.00 Removal of cylinder head. All valves will be removed from 1 port andvalves will be measured for shape, size and weight of a factory original valve.

vi. $600 Removal of engine. The engine will be disassembled to thecrankshaft. The transition ratio will be checked. The Crank will be weighedand compared to a factory original. The piston(s) will be measured andcompared to a factory original or acceptable aftermarket piston.

vii. Protest fees will not be disbursed until the end of the appropriate appealperiod or until an appeal has been acted upon.

viii. If, during the disassembly process of an internal protest, a violation of rulesother than that infraction of protest is discovered, the protest is upheld.

ix. If the protested motorcycle proves to be legal, the protest fee will be givento the protested rider.

x. If the protest is upheld, the protest fee will be returned to the protesting rider.xi. The protesting party must pay any additional expense involving the protest,

which the Race Steward deems to be legitimate. A deposit may bedemanded in advance. If the protest is upheld, however, and the machinefound to be illegal, such costs must be reimbursed by the protested party.

6. LODGING A PROTESTa. To file a protest, a rider must state in writing what is being protested. The written

protest must specify the rules, procedures and/or specific level of mechanicalprotest as outlined above.

b. Protests must be presented to the Race Steward.c. Scoring protests must be made within 30 minutes after the posting of

provisional results for the race.d. Mechanical protests must be made within 45 minutes after the checkered flag

of the race being protested.e. The race steward may hold results of the last race until the following day and

then these results will be final 30 minutes after post on the following day.

7. APPEALSa. Appeals may be lodged by participants to CRA Board of Directors. Items which

may be appealed include:i. Unless specifically excluded herein, an appeal may only be lodged by a

party that loses a protest and desires further review of the issue.ii. An appeal may be lodged to challenge fines, suspensions and technical

disqualifications levied by Race Steward and/or the CRA.iii. Items, which may not be appealed include:

(1) Disqualifications (procedural)(2) Protestable items for which no protest was lodged.(3) Decisions of the CRA officials with respect to the interpretation of CRA

rules as they pertain to race procedures. Such decisions include, but arenot limited to, establishment of grids and assignment of startingpositions; the start of the race; the control of the motorcycles; thedecision to delay, stop or shorten a race; establishment of restart grids;the assessment of lap or time penalties; black flag disqualifications,whether from a single event or the entire race meet.

iv. In general, appeals cannot be accepted related to matter for which noremedy is available. (For instance, no appeal will be heard if the only meansof remedy would be to rerun an event.)

v. An appeal must be in writing, signed by the appealing participant, and statewith specificity the elements of the protest, fine, suspension, or technicaldisqualification being appealed and the grounds for the appeal. The appealmay either be filed with the Race Steward at the meet or submitted to CRABoard of Directors within 1 week of the decision. The decision of the Boardof Directors is final.

8. RESULTS OF A PROTESTa. When a protest is upheld, the Race Steward must make a decision regarding

penalty. Penalties can include disqualification, loss of points, loss of awards,and recommendation of more severe action by the Board of Directors.i. An upheld visual protested rider will forfeit all points earned in the race

he/she was protested in.ii. An upheld internal protested rider will forfeit all points earned to date in the

class he/she was protested in.iii. Protesting parties will be notified of the status of the protest in a legal or not

legal status only.

9. LEGALITYa. CRA may initiate a protest to check for class legality. Fees will be paid by CRA

as appropriate.

10. REFUSALSa. Any rider who refuses to allow officials to examine his/her motorcycle forfeits all

points earned to date in that class. Trophies and points affected by protest willbe withheld until the protest has been decided.

11. IMPOUNDa. CRA may impound a motorcycle or parts in protest up to eight days.

SECTION 12 – POINTS1. Only official finishers count for point computation.2. Points will be awarded on the following scale:

4. If there are at least 11 racers and up to 20 racers registered for a race, the abovepoints are increased by one, and points are awarded to 16th place.

5. If there are 21 or more racers registered, the above points are increased by twoand points are awarded to 17th place.

6. Riders who did not finish, did not start, or were disqualified will not receive points.Riders finishing behind a disqualified racer move up on the points scaleaccordingly.

7. When there are 20 or fewer racers, the racers who finish after 16th place do notreceive points.

8. When there are 21 or more racers, racers who finish after 17th place do not receivepoints.

9. Experts and Novices are scored separately, except for 125GP, 250GP, and Vintage.

10. There are no minimum entries to make a class.

11. Trophies are awarded to the first three finishers in Expert and Novice Sprint racesfor each class (except combined positions for 125GP, 250GP, and Vintage).

12. Points are kept by class for each rider.

13. Points earned in sprint races will determine class finishes. Points earned in TrophyDashes or Endurance events will only count towards a rider’s overall season pointsstandings.

14. Riders must use a transponder and replace the unit when instructed to do so by theTower.

15. Each team may be required to provide a scorer to Timing and Scoring. Riders thatdo not comply with the Race Steward’s request will receive no points.

SECTION 13 – ENDURANCE EVENTS1. TEAMS

a. Each team must have at least two licensed riders, a maximum of 3 licensed ridersfor the 2-hour events, and no more than five licensed riders for the 5-hour event.

b. Riders will receive points only with the teams they originally registered on.c. The Race Steward must approve substitutions.d. Each team (rider) may be required to provide a scorer to Timing and Scoring.e. Experts earn expert points; Novices earn novice points.f. Novices may not compete on unlimited category machines, regardless of other

team member status. All registered riders on a team that violates this rule willbe subject to penalties, which may include suspension or revocation of CRAcompetition licenses.

g. Up to 5 riders may be listed for an endurance team for the year. Only the ridersthat are actually competing in a given race shall be listed on the EnduranceRace Registration form. If a rider is signed up, but does not ride in a particularevent, that person will not receive individual class points for that event, but theteam shall not be penalized so long as a minimum of two riders competed.

h. Ultralight riders must wear colored vest or T-shirt and are recommended to takean inside line through Turns 1 & 2 at BIR.

i. Unless injured or ill, riders must ride at least 30 minutes total. No rider may ridemore than 80 minutes at a time. Time spent under a red flag does not counttowards these limits.

j. Starts will be per Section 4, except that motorcycles will enter the track at pitexit. Any team that has not entered the track by the 3-minute board may attemptto start from the grid by entering the track at the grid gate prior to the 2-minuteboard. After the 2-minute board they must start from pit exit at the direction ofthe pit exit official. At the 5-minute board pit exit will display a green flagindicating the track is open for the warm-up lap. At the 3-minute board pit exitwill display a red flag indicating the track entrance is closed for warm-up laps.The start for those competitors starting from pit exit will be by hand signal afterthe last starter from the grid has passed pit exit.

k. Teams are allowed to switch bikes if the replacement bike is legal for the sameclass, has previously passed tech inspection and is using the same competitionnumber. The team will forfeit all laps earned on the first bike.i. If a motorcycle is stranded in the infield, cannot be reached safely by the pit

crew, cannot be returned to the pits for service, or damaged to the point thatrepair is not feasible; a backup bike may be used.

ii. The team will forfeit 10% (rounded up) of their completed laps at the time ofswitching to the backup bike.

l. All fuel, tools and equipment, except for fire extinguishers, but are behindthe pit wall and off the asphalt, except when in actual use.

2. FAILURE ON COURSE AT BIRa. Team members may bring fuel, parts or tools to the areab. Team members must follow instructions given by the Corner Captainc. Assistance may be given in starting or moving the motorcycled. Failure to obey a Corner Captain may result in penalties or disqualificatione. Any bike that leaves the hot track or hot pit areas is disqualified

3. FAILURE ON COURSE AT MAMa. Under the direction of the Corner Captain, the rider may attempt to repair the

motorcycleb. Failure to obey a Corner Captain may result in penalties or disqualificationc. The rider must report to the nearest Corner Captain for instructions on how to

return to the pits. Failure to report to the Corner Captain will result indisqualification

4. During any pit road or on-course refueling procedures, one crew member must bestanding within 5 feet of the motorcycle with a 10BC extinguisher at the ready.

5. The use of funnels during refueling is prohibited.

6. Quick fill containers that block the sight of the motorcycle’s fuel level must have apositive shut-off.

7. No more than 6 persons per team, including riders, are allowed over the pit wall ata time.

8. Any team that averages 10 laps per hour is considered a finisher.

10. RED FLAGSa. Teams will be re-gridded per the original starting positions.b. Scoring will be done from the lap prior to the red flag.c. There will be a minimum 5 minutes of working time, starting after the last bike

enters the pits. An announcement will be made for the starting of workingprocedures. An announcement will be made at the start of the 5-minute board,at which time the riders should start their warm up lap.

d. The restart will be a duplicate of the original start, including the count down.e. Time spent under the red flag will be part of the overall time for the event.

11. If a team is disqualified by an equipment or mechanical protest, all riders on theteam lose points earned in the event and the “owner” of the team’s race numberloses all endurance points accumulated to date in the class.

12. The Pit lane is hot (no speed limits). The actual pit boxes are not part of the hot pit lane.

13. A rider may accelerate or decelerate up to 5 pit boxes before and after his own pitif they are empty.

14. POINTSa. Each class (GP1-GP4) will use the current point structure. Points will be

doubled for the 5-hour event.b. “Overall” Endurance Team points will earn:

1st place = 30 pts2nd place = 27 pts3rd place = 25 pts4th place = 23 pts5th place = 21 pts6th place = 19 pts7th place = 17 pts8th place = 15 pts9th place = 13 pts

c. “Class” points from each event will also go toward the individual racer’s seasonpoint total.

d. “Overall” points will only be used for endurance use, such as to determine classchampions and the overall series results.

e. Each event’s Endurance Team point total will be figured by adding the class,overall and bonus points (if applicable) together.

f. The final standings will be figured by adding the three (3) Endurance eventtotals together.

g. In the case of a tie in either class or overall standing at the end of the year, itwill be resolved as follows;i. Class ties will be resolved by using the highest “class” point totals from the

3 endurance eventsii. Overall ties will be resolved by using the highest “overall” point totals from

the 3 endurance events.iii. If a rider changes endurance teams mid-season, that rider will keep the

earned class points.iv. A rider will only receive the class points that apply to their overall season

total if the rider participates in that event.v. Bonus points will be awarded for an overall win on a smaller displacement

motorcycles:(1) GP4 – no bonus points(2) GP3 – 5 bonus points(3) GP2 – 10 bonus points(4) GP1 – 15 bonus points

15. PIT CLOSED PROCEDURE:a. A black board with an orange “X” will be displayed at MAM Corner 5 and MAM

Corner 9 flagging stations. No entry to the pits will be allowed at that time.Entering closed pits while they are closed will result in forfeiture of all accruedlaps and immediate disqualification from the event.

16. RED FLAG ON TRACK & PIT IS CLOSED PROCEDURE:a. In the event of a red flag on the track and the pits are closed, a black board with

an orange “X” will be displayed at MAM Corner 5 and MAM Corner 9 flaggingstations. All riders will proceed to the Start/Finish line and wait for furtherinstructions from the Race Steward. Failure to follow this procedure will resultin the forfeiture of all laps and immediate disqualification from the event.

17. MAM PIT ROAD NEUTRAL ZONE:a. Area of pit road for Pit Board crew to stand.b. A line spray painted on the track surface will define the Neutral Zone. This

Neutral Zone is established for the safety of the Pit Board crew.c. No rider may ride through the Neutral Zone.d. Any rider riding through the Neutral Zone will incur a stop and go penalty.

18. MAM PIT ROAD CROSSING:a. Two crosswalks will be painted on the track designating the crosswalks. Pit

Crew crossing pit lane must use the designated crosswalks. Failure to do so willresult in a stop and go penalty for your team.

SECTION 14 – TROPHY DASHES1. Only one rider per motorcycle. Neither substitute riders nor substitute motorcycles.

2. All CRA Supersport and GP classes will run. (Except 125/250 GP)

3. A rider may compete in only one Trophy Dash event per meet.

4. Starts, pit stops, refueling procedures and failure on course are treated per Section12 rules.

5. Points are awarded as per Section 11 (with the exception of subsection 9). Trophiesare awarded to the first three finishers in the Expert and Novice Trophy Dashes foreach class.

6. Points earned in Trophy Dash events will only count toward a rider’s overall CRA points.

SECTION 15 – SPECIAL EVENTSAt the discretion of the Board of Directors the CRA may run special events that maybe governed by supplemental rules and that may or may not award points, and may ormay not pay a cash purse. Such events may restrict participation to certain classes ofrider or bike.
