that it may became bread… broken and shared for the life of the world?

to enter into a loving relationship with us. God opens the door of faith

for us!

Dynamics of Faith

Faith entails truth that needs our understanding

Faith is a reality to be lived Faith is a mystery to be

celebrated

Mystery of faith

The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the Blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch. (CCC 1324)

In brief, the Eucharist is the sum and summary of our faith: "Our way of thinking is attuned to the Eucharist, and the Eucharist in turn confirms our way of thinking (CCC 1327).

The Eucharist is a sacrament of faith.

It is celebrated within the context of

faith. It invites a response in faith.

It is through the faith of the church

that the meaning of the Eucharist is

given its true content.

The Kerygma, the central message of the church’s proclamation of faith, is announced in a unique way in the Eucharist.

In the Eucharist, we proclaim likewise his saving death and resurrection as the source and meaning and hope for our own lives. We likewise proclaim the kingdom of God in the face of all that might seem to destroy God’s creation

The Eucharist is the center of the Catholic

Faith because Jesus Christ is the center of Catholic life and worship… the Eucharist is nothing less than Jesus Christ himself

Jesus Christ is here on earth again in the Eucharist

Offer of salvation by way of a new

experience of the Presence of God

Jesus means "the Lord is salvation," "I will be with you until the

consummation of the age" (Matt. 28:20). he intended to give his own presence to

his people as an eternal gift.

Page 16: Centrality of the eucharist in the year of faith

What form would that presence take?

He gathered them for a meal and fed them.

- This is my Body…This is My Blood

- Do this in memory of me (Anamnesis)

The Eucharist an Absolute Necessity

We need the Eucharist for survival

We need the Eucharist for meaning
