Description:

The student volunteers representing Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering

(Autonomous) have participated in creating awareness on disaster management through

posters to the students and as well as to the public in a way how we can take precautions

during the occurrence of disasters. Chief Guest Sri A S N Prasad garu , Secretary Dr P

Somarajugaru , Principal Dr A B K Rao garu, Dr Y V P K Raghava garu had a look on the

presentations and finally they have given prizes to 3 top most poster presentations.

Activity -2: OBSERVANCE OF SADBHAVANA DIWAS

Name of the Activity : Observance of

Sadbhavana Diwas

Date : 20-08- 2015

Organized at : GVP College Campus

Beneficiaries : General Public

Description

Sadbhavana Diwas (72nd birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi) will be observed all over the

India on 20th

of August every year. The Sadbhavana (means having good feelings on others)

Diwas or Harmony Day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the earlier

Prime Minister of India named Rajiv Gandhi. Having good feelings on others was the only

the mission of the government of Rajiv Gandhi.

The pledge:

“I take this solemn pledge that I will work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the

people of India regardless of caste, region, religion or language. I further pledge that I shall

resolve all differences among us through dialogue and constitutional means without

Activity -3: TCS IT WIZ QUIZ

Name of the Activity : Volunteering in TCS IT- WIZ- QUIZ

Date : 27-08-2015

Organized at : Kalabharathi Auditorium


Beneficiaries : Students, college and public

Description

TCS IT WIZ, India‟s biggest IT QUIZ for schools students between class 8-12.Thisprogram

aims to build awareness and hone IT skills, so that students look at technology through a

whole new perspective. The „PICK BRAIN OF INDIA‟ Mr.Giri Balasubrahmanyam

conducted the quiz. Students of GVP College of Engineering (A) have taken part in

conducting TCS IT WIZ in Vizag. Students from NSS volunteered the quiz at Kalabharathi

Auditorium. Many schools participated in the quiz and this helps students a lot to learn about

IT world.

Activity -4: Root for a Planet

Name of the Activity : Root-for-planet, Plantation program in

association with CSR of Axis bank

Date : 19 -09-2015

Organized at : College Campus

Beneficiaries : Students and Faculty

Description

Root for a planet program is conducted by Axis Bank in all the major cities in association

with the student volunteers of Gayatri Vidya Parishad Engineering college , Women‟sEngg

college and GVP hospital. About 1000 saplings were planted by students of all branches of

both the colleges, also by the Doctors in the GVP Hospital and also including the faculty of

the respective campuses. This has been observed in Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of

engineering (Autonomous),Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of engineering for women and

also in the newly constructed Gayatri Medical campus.

Activity -5: SATKAARYA– A Social Unite

Name of the Activity : SATKAARYA– A Social Unite

A One – Day Symposium on Social Responsibility

Date : 23-09-2015

Description

The symposium SATKAARYA organized on 23rd September 2015 by CFSR of GVPCE (A)

is unique kind of togetherness on social responsibility. Students from various institutes have

participated in this event with full positive energy. This symposium is dedicated to

Late Prof. B. Sarveswara Rao Garu who believed in ACTION RESEARCH.

Prof. Dr. Ing PS Rao Garu - Guest of Honor and the Chief Guest

Sri Ram Prasad AjjarapuGaru Joint Youth coordinator for AP and Telangana States.

This Symposium has many activities like cartoon film making, group discussion, poster

presentation, paper presentation and power point presentation on many topics. Students

from different colleges participated in the symposium.

Activity -6: OBSERVANCE OF NON-VIOLENCE WEEK

Name of the Activity : Observance of “Non-violence” week

Date : 29-09 -2015 to 05-10-2015

Organized at : Ananda Marga Ashramam

Beneficiaries : Students, college and public

Description

The International Non-violence week is observed on October 2, the birthday of Mahatma

Gandhi. On this occasion the week has been observed by conducting quizzes, just –a-minute

sessions. Elocutions and other such competitions are conducted.

In this way students will get to know the importance of non-violence and also the need to pay

more attention to non-violent techniques.

Activity -7: BLOOD DONATION CAMP IN COLLEGE

Activity -8: MARATHON RUN

As a part of this program

for students of GVP college of engineering (A) were organized on the theme - COMMUNAL

HARMONY AND NATIONAL INTEGRATION

And also MARATHON RUN from RK Beach to VUDA park is taken up on 24th November

between 7 AM to 9 AM.

The main aim is to promote communal harmony and national integration among youth and to

contribute for the services rendered by NFCH (National Foundation for Communal

Harmony) to save the children rendered destitute in violence.

Activity -9: OBSERVANCE OF AIDS DAY

Name of the Activity : Observance of AIDS DAY

Date : 01 -12- 2015


Beneficiaries : Students and Public

Description

The World AIDS Day designated on 01 Dec since 1988 is to spread awareness of AIDS

pandemic caused by spread of HIV Virus infection. Government and Health officials along

with non-government organizations and individuals observe the day often with education of

AIDS prevention and control . All the student volunteers took active participation in

spreading the awareness on AIDS prevention and control.

Activity -11: Swachh Bharat Near college premises

Event : Cleaning the college premises

Description:

The student volunteers representing Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of

Engineering(Autonomous) have participated in cleaning premises around the college.

There were filth all over around comprising fallen leaves, trees and dirt. Student volunteers

accompanied with NSS volunteers had cleaned the dirt. The workers and officials helped to

clean the place. A team work put up together by students and workers there was appreciated.

Activity -12: COMPUTER EDUCATION PROGRAM

Name of the Activity : Computer Education Program at ZPH High

School Chandranapalem

Date : Februray and March 2016



Beneficiary : Beneficiary to School Students , society.

Description:

The ZPHS, CHANDRAMPALEM School has recently been upgraded with computer lab

facility. However, the lack of Staff in the school made it a difficult task to educate the

students. GVPCOE (A),NSS unit identified the issue and took it as a duty to impart computer

skills to the students . We, final year students of B.Tech, Dept of Chemical Engineering

volunteered to put up the task.

Our motto is to educate and improve the elementary Computer Skills of the

students. This covers teaching them recent advancements in Computer Tech., MS OFFICE

and Keyboard skills. We believe that it is a purpose to seed elementary knowledge to the

school children. Our project also includes giving career guidance, personal sanitation and soft

skills by conducting „Interaction sessions‟.

Activity -14: Jute Bag Challenge

Name of the Activity : Jute Bag Challenge as a part of Observance of

National Science Day

Organized at : GVP COLLEGE OFENGINEERING (A)


Description:

NSS student volunteers took up a campaign on jute bag challenge. This challenge is to avoid

plastic and use jute bags to help the environment as plastic is harmful in various ways and

its usage is increasing at an alarming rate there is a every need to curb its use. More than 200

students signed up and took this challenge.
