h SOS/STD/STI/HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases
Department of Microbiology and Virology, UiTø, and Department of Microbiology, UNN, share the following interests and targets:
• Resistance surveillance (National centre of competence: NORM (surveillance of resistance bacteria and viruses))
• Resistance mechanisms ((National centre of competence: detection and characterization of resistance microbes)
• The departments have worked on mechanisms of antibacterial and antiviral peptides.
• Competencies in bacterial and viral resistance could be a contribution to global health research in SOS/STD/STI/HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases.
