Working for our future — today Construction Construction is progressing well and the project is on track. The following provides guidance as to what works will be occurring each week during July. Where works may affect a particular business, Centre Improvement staff will endeavour to provide advice in person to the business operator. It is important to note that the nature of the works calls for the construction team to progress works up the street a number of times as they complete the stormwater, kerb and channel, asphalt, footpath and finally landscaping. Isolated sections will not be fully completed before moving onto the next. July Construction Works Week 1 (5-9 July) - new footpath outside Dan Murphy’s completed - new water mains completed Week 2 (12-16 July) - new footpath from overpass to ramp in north- eastern corner completed (see photo overleaf) - new stormwater system complete Week 3 (19-23 July) - new kerb and channel started - relocation of pedestrian crossings Week 4 (26-30 July) - construction of new garden bed near overpass Traffic Management Traffic management will continue with one lane of traffic being allowed through at a time. At the moment this is the best option to maximise traffic flow and maintain safety of all persons in the street. Minor changes may be made to this system for operational reasons. Many Station Street businesses are offering ‘Be Loyal to Local Business’ specials to customers during the construction period.

The Centre Improvement project team is helping spread the word by distributing ‘Special Offer Brochures’ containing coupons to over 1500 local residences.

The intention of this is to ensure the local community are aware of the exciting revitalisation occurring in Station Street and that businesses are open and offering special promotions during the construction period.
