' You Can Help! K-6th grade children and their parents are
invited to join in packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child on Sunday, November 13 from 4:30-6:30 PM.
Our goal this year is to pack and send 200 boxes. There are many opportunities for families to support this Children’s Ministry mission project. Donations of small gifts (crayons, coloring books, soap, socks, etc.) are needed to pack in shoe boxes. These items can be placed in the green tub in the Narthex. Please do NOT include: used or damaged items, war-related items, chocolate or food, out of date candy, liquids or lotions, toothpaste, medications, or breakable items. To learn more about the project or get small gift ideas, the Operation Christmas Child-Samaritan’s Purse website is www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child. If you are able to contribute monetarily, seven dollars in postage is needed for each box to be shipped to children worldwide. Monetary contributions can be made by earmarking checks with ―Operation Christmas Child‖ and placing in the offering or submitting to the office or by donating online to ―Op Christmas Child‖ at: https://mycumc.ccbchurch.com/give_detail.php Help Pack: We will meet November 13, 2016 at 4:30 in the Fellowship Hall to pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. A pizza dinner will follow at 6:00 PM. Five dollars ($5) per person is requested to offset the cost of dinner. Please RSVP for the November 13 pizza dinner at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4da5af22a02-november

November Mission Opportunities
Operation Christmas Child:
Please consider donating small gifts or making a monetary donation to support Operation Christmas Child. Gifts may be dropped off at the church office before noon on November 13.
Holiday Food Baskets:
Children’s Ministry encourages families to support the CUMC congregation-wide Holiday Food Basket mission project. CUMC has begun collecting food and donations to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets for families in need in our community. For 2016, CUMC will be providing a minimum of 360 baskets — 180 at Thanksgiving and 180 at Christmas. During the next few weeks, please prayerfully consider supporting this ministry by donating needed food items, sponsoring a basket for a local family in need, helping to pack and deliver the baskets on the Saturdays before Thanksgiving and Christmas, or any combination of the three! Please contact Chris Granberg at [email protected] to volunteer or for additional information.
Packing and Delivery Dates:
Saturday, November 19- Thanksgiving Saturday December 17- Christmas
Madrigal Feastes You can help make the magic happen! Our Madrigal Feastes (Renaissance Dinners) will be held Friday and Saturday, December 9 and 10. Opportunities abound for participation by all members of the CUMC congregation: sets, decorating, sewing costumes, hair and makeup, decorating, helping in the kitchen, serving, and did we mention decorating? Volunteer forms are at the Welcome Center. While you’re picking up a form, take a moment to view the display of pictures from past feastes. Imagine yourself there! For more information contact Becky Jackson, [email protected].
All children will take part in celebrating this special birthday with their Sunday School classes during both 9:30 and 11:00 AM worship hours on Sunday, December 11. Adult and youth volunteers are needed to set-up craft, music and story stations or to bake mini-cupcakes to make this fun celebration possible. For more information or to serve on this Sunday, please contact Diane.
