ARCHIBARCA LINEAMENT

The Archibarca Lineament is a well known structural corridor Several large copper deposits occur along this structure such as La Escondida and Zaldivar on the Chilean side and Rio Grande and Lindero in the Argentinean side of the border

Exploration History

• 1995- Mansfield discovered copper oxide mineralization along a roadcut

• Teck start exploration in late 1995 early 1996 doing soil and rock sampling, Induced Polarization and ground Magnetic surveys

• 1996- Geologic mapping at 1:10,000 scale and drilling of three DDH’s holes 612 m total

• Suspended by legal problems • 1998- Codelco estimates 40Mt at 0.5 %Cu. • 2000- 10 wide spaced DDH totalizing 1200 m
