Rationale for ProposalThis proposal aims to accomplish two things. First, it aims to state the certificate requirements more clearly in the catalog by adding them to "Program Requirements" tab of the online catalog instead of simply describing them in the "Overview" tab. This change does not include any changes to the certificate requirements. Second, curricular changes made by various departments at Texas A&M leave the official list of certificate course out of step with the courses offered to students and the courses capable of satisfying the requirements of the certificate. This proposal changes what courses the catalog will list.

Catalog Program Requirements

Certificate Requirements:Certificate candidates must complete 12 hours of coursework as follows:6 hours from approved course list3 hours from approved course list outside the student’s home department.3 hours Independent Study. The independent study much include the completion of a digital humanities project. A report on the independent study project must be submitted to the certificate coordinator upon completion of the project.1
