Description Certified Fitness Instructor The Certified Fitness Instructor Course (CFI) is a must-have for anyone with more than one-year of exercise experience wanting to become a fitness practitioner (personal trainer or fitness professional). As a Certified Fitness Instructor (CFI), you will be able to instruct exercises according to international guidelines, and lead both personal and group personal fitness workouts. You will be provided with all the essentials, enabling you to walk away from the course feeling confident and empowered to kick start an exciting new career!

Day 1 (3+3 hours)

The Professional Personal Trainer and Career Pathway. Principles of Fitness & A.C.T

Model

In this session, we will look at the role, scope of practice and code of ethics of a Certified Fitness Practitioner. Fitness Practitioner must know the career pathway to ensure longevity and sustainability of their career while striving to learn as they climb. We will then introduce the principles of fitness and how it is translated into the A.C.T Training Model to help us train our clients to be healthier, fitter, and eventually achieving a specific fitness goal.

A.C.T: Lower Body Training

In this session, students will apply the A.C.T Training Model into training the lower body. Two lower body human movement which is essentially the bend & lift and single leg will be introduced. Students will learn the movement science, how our body is designed to move, warm-up and cool-down drills. At the end of this session, students will be able to teach the movement, observe common movement dysfunction while progressing and regressing the movement. Simple flexibility test is also introduced to help trainers rule out possibility of movement dysfunction caused by mobility issue.

Day 2 (3+3 hours)

A.C.T: Upper Body Training

On the second day, students will experience the same learning process they had for lower body with upper body now. Another three human movements are introduced which is push, pull and rotation for the upper body. Students will again learn the movement science, warm-up and cool-down drills, how to teach, observe and correct.

Instructional Skills and Designing & Implementing Workout

After learning all the movements, students will now be taught how to design functional and resistance training workouts for beginner, intermediate and advance exercisers. You will learn how to structure a 45 mins - 60 mins workout by selecting and sequencing appropriate exercises for different types workouts. This is then followed by you implementing the workout and experience bringing someone through an entire workout. Students will apply what they have learnt on exercise instruction and guidelines while building rapport with their client.

Day 3 (3+3 hours)

BEAT: Aerobic & Anaerobic Training and Managing Small Group Training

In this session, students will learn the frequency, intensity, duration and type of cardiovascular training that is required to achieve general health and fitness. Right after, you will experience the charm of small group training as we bring you through different workout formats including circuit trainings, partner trainings, fitness games, you can try for your beginner, intermediate and advance exercisers.

Review and Theory Exam

We will spend approximately an hour to review key skills of a CFI and then we will start the theory exam. Students are required to answer 30 multiple-choice question and design workouts for 3 case studies. The theory exam will take 90 minutes.

Personal Trainer in Practice (PTP) Personal Trainer in Practice continues the pathway to become a Certified Fitness Practitioner (CFP). In this component, you will cover various client assessments that you can implement prior to training your clients, as well as multiple strategies needed to help achieve various client goals. You will be taught to study and understand the assessment results to allow for proper modification and implementation of exercise programmes to match your clients’ needs and goals.

Understand Client Goals & Client Assessment – Initial Screening

In this session, students will be able to link the 6 common client goals: General Health, General Fitness, Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Hypertrophy, Fat Loss and Muscular Strength, to components of training that is required. We will discuss how to understand someone’s goal and interview techniques to help clients set SMART goals. Students will then go through the essential pre-training screening needs to be done to match client’s goal with the appropriate training.

Functional Assessment and Programming

In this session, students will learn to observe common posture deviation, perform flexibility testing and movement screens. We will then discover overactive and underactive muscles in out clients which we will learn to apply stability and mobility training. This is essential for every client to help to improve function, prevent injuries, move better and lift heavier

Programming for General Health and Fitness, Cardiovascular Endurance, Hypertrophy,

Strength and Fat Loss

In this session, we will guide you step by step to design macrocycle, mesocycle and microcycle for clients with different goals.

Business & Marketing for Personal Trainers

Finally, with all the skills you have gained through the Personal Trainer in Practice course, you are ready to take on clients! This session will teach you how to brand and market yourself and your services to help you attract the right audience.

Awards Certified Fitness Instructor Upon completing the course, passing the exam, and meeting all the requirements to instruct and lead a general exercise session for apparently healthy adults, you will be awarded the ‘Certified Fitness Instructor’ certificate by Fitness Edutraining Asia (FEA) Personal Trainer in Practice Upon completing the course, passing the exam, and meeting all the requirements to assess, design and implement health and fitness programmes for apparently healthy adults, you will be awarded the ‘Certified Fitness Practitioner’ certificate by Fitness Edutraining Asia (FEA) To receive the ‘Certified Fitness Practitioner’ certificate, you must meet the minimum passing score of 70% for both Certified Fitness instructor (Level 1 of Certified Fitness Practitioner) and Personal Trainer in Practice (Level 2 of Certified Fitness Practitioner)
