NOVEMBER 2013
The last week of September was
genuinely one of the most joyful weeksof my life! I pulled on my mud boots
and ministered to the victims of the
devastating Colorado floods. It was an
honor to serve as a chaplain for the
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team and
serve alongside the tireless Samaritans
Purse volunteers. I was amazed by allthe undeniable ways that God ordered
our steps...giving us numerous doors to
minister to the emotional and spiritual
needs of the flood victims. Many
people we met were living on
tilt...grappling with losing much of what
they had owned and digging out of fourfeet of mud in their homes. It was such
a beautiful opportunity to bring hope
to communities that have been utterly
shaken by this crisis that they never saw
coming.
Bringing hope to the flood victims...
MANY HOMEOWNERS ASKED US,
WHY ARE YOU HELPING US FOR
FREE?! IN THE WAKE OF BEING
LOVED AND SACRIFICIALLY
SERVED, PEOPLES HEARTS BEGAN
TO MELT AND OPEN UP TO GOD!

I believe that the increased shakings
we are experiencing now (fires, floods,
tornadoes, hurricanes, schoolshootings, terrorist attacks and more)
are just the beginning and that we will
see a rise in these kind of events in our
day and in our land. As disaster
strikes, we have an unprecedented
opportunity to minister the life-giving
hope and heart-healing love of God.
In the wake of disaster, people are so
much more aware of their need for
Unshakeable Love and True Security.
I believe that God is raising up and
equipping a boldly compassionate
disaster relief army in this hour to
march to the sound of His heartbeat!
Ive been enlisted!
Just as disaster strikes suddenly, the call
to go and volunteer in disaster zones
often comes as a suddenly. This
makes the ministry of disaster relief
different than most mission trips which
are normally planned for well in
advance. I feel strongly led to prepare
NOW so that Ill be ready and able to
go when the next time comes.
So far, Ive done what I believe God has
asked me to do to prepare to GO ondisaster relief deployments. Ive taken
crisis management classes, chaplain
training, and invested in purchasing
disaster relief gear. This is a strictly
volunteer ministry. For me, the cost of
deployment involves taking off work at
a moments notice, not having an
income during the time that I am
deployed due to being self-employed,
and paying for all of my travel expenses.
God is raising up and equipping a boldly
compassionate disaster relief army in this hour...
JESUS SAID, THE HARVEST
IS PLENTIFUL, BUT THE
LABORERS ARE FEW.
Travel expenses will vary drastically
depending on the deployment location
which at times will include goingoverseas. This ministry is certainly not
for the faint of heart as it involves
rough conditions, long hours, and
potential risks to personal safety and
health, but the eternal rewards are
great.
Would you prayerfully consider
partnering with me financially on a
monthly basis so that I would be
released to GO at a moments notice
on these disaster relief missions? I am
very well aware that the only way this
will be possible is in community with
others. I see a whole army marching
together in rhythm...some out on the
front lines...some on the home
front...but all serving together as
laborers in this great ripe field!
Yours for the Harvest,
Donya Duggleby
