The bathroom is the one room that, barring wifi scales, has remained immune to the tech revolution. But this gadget made by Gizoo is about to change that. Easy on the wallet and even easier to use, this is brilliant. It does come with a cable for wired use, but if that’s your intention you are obviously missing the point. Unless you’re just looking for an excuse to pair it with your new Z3 phone. In which case, we salute you. HOT HOT HOT AN inevitable side-effect of the rat race, along with commuter rage and sleepiness, is having to wear a suit every day. And if you are anything like me and don’t even know how to do up a tie, the prospect of dry cleaning is intimidating. Step forward ZipJet, a couriered cleaning service for the poncey, lazy, or just plain pathetic. ZipJet collects, cleans and delivers back a bag of washing or dry cleaning. No more going home at weekends to use Mum’s washing machine, then. 4 3.5 IT is two years since Far Cry 3 arrived to acclaim. Now the series returns with a new protagonist, location and villain. The tropical islands have been replaced by the mountain- ous terrains of Kyrat and the memorable villain Vaas replaced by the equally eccentric Pagan Min. You play as Ajay Ghale, an American in Kyrat to spread his mother’s ashes. You are soon engulfed in a civil war, while learning of your family’s historic connec- tion here. The gameplay is largely unchanged from its predeces- sor. Presented as a large, open world, you are free to roam, avoiding the main questline for as long as you wish. You can still spend hours hunting to craft new gear, or liberate camps and “bell tow- ers”, a not-so-subtle twist on radio towers from Far Cry 3. These are supple- mented by an almost endless number of side quests and it is all too easy to become detached from the main plot. The story itself is alarmingly similar to the previous game. Arrive in war- torn region run by eccentric dictator and fight for the good guys. Time has instead been invested in polishing the experience and adding around the edges. The graphics are markedly improved thanks to the jump to next gen and the map itself is even larger. More quest variety has been added and your choices throughout the campaign generate some sense of involvement. Far Cry 4 also adds empha- sis to multiplayer and co-op gameplay. The five vs five mode seems promising but faces fierce competition from other outstanding multi- player FPS we have seen. The PS4 version includes Keys to Kyrat, which lets you to invite friends to join you in pretty much anything but the main campaign. That will bring hours of fun. Taken at face value, Far Cry 4 is a great game, but ultimately fans of the series expecting an entirely new experience are likely to be left disappointed. New Music By JIM GELLATLY ENEMIES OF THE STATE WHO: Kris Tennant (vocals), Glenn Holburn (guitar), Gary Dillon (guitar), Joe Carney (bass), Garry Curran (drums) WHERE: Glasgow FOR FANS OF: Foo Fighters, Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age. JIM SAYS: When a band refer to their music as “something between Coldplay and Audio- slave”, the suggestion is that you might be in for something quite interesting. Thankfully Enemies Of The State pull it off. Balancing power and melody on their debut album Awakening, they do it with style. The band also have a message. Kris said: “Enemies Of The State was born because we wanted to write music that would inspire peo- ple and inspire change. “The name Awakening is exactly what we think is hap- pening today. People are real- ising that their lives are being run by a privileged political class who only serve the needs of big business and do nothing to quell the blatant inequality within society. “We sing about everything from space travel and war to fracking and revolution. We wanted to make an album that could resonate univer- sally with all people.” Evolving from solo project The Kris Tennant Band, Ene- mies Of The State debuted a couple of years ago with a gig at The Garage in Glasgow. With a couple of line-up changes along the way, they’ve developed into seri- ous contenders. Kris cites their album launch at Audio in Glasgow as a “game changer”. He explained: “We made up our own visuals for the back- ground along with a five-min- ute intro video with scenes of riots, war etc. “We were able to give peo- ple more of a show rather than your everyday gig. It really opened our eyes to the possibilities of how good we can make our live shows.” Enemies Of The State plan to go out on their first proper tour next year, and are already working on a fol- low-up to Awakening. Meanwhile, after its initial release last month as a free download, they plan on releasing a physical edition of the album next month, com- plete with a new song, Atlas. Enemies Of The State sup- port Scots legends Big Coun- try at the Classic Grand in Glasgow on December 5. They round off the year with a headline show at King Tut’s on December 29. LURING Paradise Lost’s NickHolmes into the vacant vocal-ist slot in Sweden’s old schooldeath metal supergroup is amatch made in, well, hell.Roughly stitching the new –

OK, 40-something – Brit front-man’s head on the band’sFrankenstein body brings anironically fresh serrated edgeto their usual, axe-thrashinglyfilthy death metal assault.Highs include the neck-

LABRINTH:Jealous. Thisdevastatingballad is rawand beautiful, leaving voice, lyrics and a bitof organ to tell a story ofheartbreak. This is thesecond single from hisupcoming second albumTake Me To The Truth. 4YEARS AND YEARS: Desire.Muted steel pans and ahand-clapping beat givethis track an undeniablysummery vibe. Actor OllyAlexander, who heads upthe group, proves himselfto be a worthy vocalist. 3CATFISH AND THEBOTTLEMEN: Pacifier.Scatty drums and chimingguitars give way as thistrack drops into afestival-ready anthem comethe chorus. An excellentfollow-up to Cocoon. 3.5ICE CUBE FT. REDFOOAND 2CHAINZ: Drop Girl.Another addition to ourincreasingly backside-obsessed culture, featuringthe one with the annoyingface from LMFAO. Gettingpretty fed up with this newbreed of ass-centric popsongs. 2TARA PRIYA: One Foot Out.Priya’s brilliant jazz vocalsuits the revved up retrosetting of this frustratedtrack. Taken from heralbum Shot In The Dark. 3.5LUCIUS: Hey, Doreen. Witha big beat and pianochords, this track goesfrom strength to strength, incorporating elements ofpower pop and glam rockvia Phil Spector. 4COVES: Fall Out Of Love.Sounding tailor-made for aSofia Coppola soundtrack, this is All echoing guitarsand spaced out psychedelicvocals from front womanBeck Wood. 3.5TAKE THAT: These Days. Ahorrible, cynical mishmashof what I imagine GaryBarlow thinks constitutes amodern pop song. Watchout for the cringe-inducingvideo too. 2.5BAD BREEDING: Chains.Throaty shouting and adiscordant clash ofinstruments would be anassault to most people’sears – but others may feelthe cathartic effects of oneof Britain’s ragey-est rockbands. 3
