Re: How to convert CGPA into percentage?

for a 10 point grading system:

CGPA*8.82=Equivalent percentage. Eg: If CGPA is 9.00, then the equivalent percentage = 9.00*8.82=79.4%

Re: How to convert CGPA into percentage?

Dear Friend, It depends on the criteria of the university like in IPU if your CGPA is 8.50 then youhave 2 multiply your CGPA with 8.50 from a scale 0-10 grade then your total percentagecalculated as 8.5/10*100 = 85%. Generally most of the University calculate CGPA like if you score7.54 in 10 point scale then your % will be just (7.54-.75)*10=67.90%. if you get 9.99 or even 10but when you will convert it to percentage it will just become 92.5%.

Re: How to convert CGPA into percentage?

just deduct 0.75 from your cgpa(7.54).then multiply it with100.

Sol. 7.54-0.75=6.79*100=67.90%(Shortcut)Note 1: If a Grade point system is adopted, the GPA will be converted into equivalent marks asgiven below:

Re: How to convert CGPA into percentage?

- Cumulative Grade Point Average is an overall indicative percentage of marks.- to calculate percentage from cgpa, multiply by 9.5 with CGPA- We only multiply by 9.5 b'coz The Board took the result of the last five years and calculatedthe average marks of all candidates who had scored between 91 and 100. That average turnedout to be close to 95 marks. Since the equivalent Grade Point for the 91-100 band (A1 grade) ofmarks is 10, it then divided the average result of 95 by 10. The result is 9.5.

Re: How to convert CGPA into percentage?

Hello Dear

For understanding this you need to remember the definition of few terms like C.G.P.A,G.P.A etc. The usual method of conversion is provided in the University Website itself.Soyou better look for it.Don't use any other formula. You have to strictly follow theconversion formula prescribed by your own university. This conversion formula may differfrom one university to other.

Try to understand this example. Before understanding the conversion process ,you needto know how C.G.P.A is generated or calculated.

C.G.P.A stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average. For every semester you get a Gradepoint average (G.P.A). GPA of all the semesters is later on accumulated to aggregate theC.G.P.A.

let us say you have 7 grades in your university starting from O=10, E=9, A=8,B=7,C=6,D=5,F=2.Assume that there are 3 subject named Apple ,banana, coconut in you1 semester. You have secured "E" in Apple which is 3 credit course,You scored "A" inBanana which is a 3 credit course and similarly you scored ''O'' in Coconut which is acredit 2 subject.

Now Your GPA will be = (summation of credit x score)/ (credit)GPA = [(3x9)+(3x8)+(2x10)]/(3+3+2)GPA for this semester = 71/8 = 8.875 .

Suppose in your 2nd semester , you scored 9 GPA for a total of 7 credits

then, your C.G.P.A = [(8.875x8) +(9x7)]/ (8+7)=> C.G.P.A = 8.9333

So far you learned how C.G.P.A is being generated. Now I will tell you how to convertC.G.P.A to Percentage. As I have said earlier, the formula is predefined by youruniversity. You just need to add your C.G.P.A marks and convert it. You don't have tocreate your own formula. For example- For a students under the 4-point credit system, the procedure is (C.G.P.A X18) + 20 = Equivalent percentage

Which means If your C.G.P.A is 3.00, then the equivalent percentage would be = (3.00 X18)+20 = 74%

NOTE : If the University doesn't releases the conversion formula and credit details thenthe students have to strictly follow the conversion formula accredited by A.I.C.T.E whichis given belowAICTE_logo.jpg

EQUIVALENT PERCENTAGE = (C.G.P.A -0.75) X 100

I hope you are very much clear with all these procedures now.Anyways best of luck for abright Future

Regards

Re: How to convert CGPA into percentage?

Hello friend the cgpa to percent and percent conversion is depend on the criteria ofuniversities. The different universities have their different criteria of calculation for exampleNational Institute Of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER) calculate percentage byfollowing formula

% marks = CGPA * 8.5

Similarly some colleges/ universities calculate by using following formula

% marks = CGPA * 9.5

Since you have not mentioned any college/ university so your CGPA in point scale for 57.12%would be

57.12/8.5 = 6.01 CGPA
