COUNTRYMEN




Mahatma Gandhi used to wear only a dhoti




A little girl once said to him : ³Bapuji, my

mummy will make a nice new shirt for you.´




Gandhiji said, ³Thanks you, my dear, but I

cannot wear a nice new shirt. My brothers

have no shirts to wear.´




Gandhiji said, ³ Thank you, my dear, but I

cannot wear a nice new shirt. My brothers

have no shirts to wear.´




The little girl asked him, ³How many brothers

do you have ?´

He said, ³I have crores of brothers. They

are the poor of India.´




Like Gandhiji, we should treat our countrymen

as our family members.




People of different castes and creeds live in our country. They follow

different religions. They go to different places of worship. They celebrate

different festivals. They speak different languages. But still they are all

Indians.




We should love countrymen. We should have

respect for one anothers¶ religious and

religious places. We should take part in one

anothers¶ festivals.




Say:

Blessed is the land where many holy ones dwell.
