ICAM20/09/2009 11th INT.CONf. RIO
C - Recycling the carbon resources through REDOX processes as we do for metals
Carbone Dioxide is a good support for synfuels from CO + H2 mixtures in catalytic plug reactors. Many patents and pilot plants are starting because these processes are close to the financial balance if the petroleum baril is between 80 to 100 $
4 ways are studied : * Fischer Tropsch CO2+H2 oil (USA, South Africa)
* CH3OH production CO2 + 3 H2 CH3OH +H2O ( USA, CHINA, EUROPE)
* CH4 production CO2 + 4 H2 CH4 +2H2O (BP, JAPAN..)
* Syngas production CO + H2 from coal gasification with arc plasma torch using
CO2 or a mixture CO2 + H2O at 5000 K
These storage systems can reach a power of 100.000MW from FT process.

Conclusions
1. One of the prospective methods of CO2 utilization is CO2 reforming with coal.
The development of this method can play a significant role in metallurgical
coke production and utilization of CO2 emissions.
2. Modification of coal with transition metal additives is a prospective way to
control both the interaction of CO2 with coal and quality of blast-furnace
coke.
3. The interaction of CO2 with coke, catalytic nature of metal additives and coke
char require advanced investigations of reaction kinetics, texture and
morphology of solid reagents and reaction products.

FORCESFORCES
