SALUTE TO EDUCATORS 10th-Annual Salute to Educators is Aug. 17 Presented by Greater Iowa Credit Union T he 10th-Annual Salute to Edu- cators luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Ames High School. The event celebrates the value of our area educators from Ames, Gilbert and United Communi- ty Schools. On hand will be the Ames Chamber Board of Directors, the Education Connections committee and Young Professionals of Ames to facilitate the event along with Cham- ber staff. This year’s event theme is Reach for the Stars. Event coordinators hope to remind educators that the Ames Chamber is a resource for them as well as a conduit in linking K-12 education and the business communi- ty. The educators — including teachers, coaches, administration, School Board, and other faculty members —look for- ward to the event every year. “The Salute to Educators luncheon is a great start to our year,” said teacher Stacy Dobernecker, of Ames High School. Everyone is renewed and refreshed, and the Chamber provides us a great opportunity to see one another again and enjoy the excitement that comes with the opening of another school year. I am always impressed with the great number and variety of business partners who attend and give us their greetings, thanks and encouragement. It is really appreciated. The luncheon shows that Ames Schools is Ames community schools.” For more information about the Ames Chamber Education Connections commit- tee or this event, please contact Megan at [email protected], or Crystal at [email protected].
