As your Chamber comes up for air from a very busy September, "thank you’s" are in store for the many attendees at our many events. The community turned out for a wonderful Labor Day concert by the Can- ton Symphony on the steps of City Hall, our small businesses learned what they can access from the Census Bureau at our QC Luncheon, duffers hit the links at the an- nual golf outing and 250 chocolate-lovers
checked out the businesses on Main Street at the 2nd Annual Chocolate Walk. The Chamber appreciates the support of our members, sponsors and the community for making September 2019 one to remember!
Top 50 in the United StatesTop 50 in the United StatesTop 50 in the United StatesTop 50 in the United States The afore-mentioned September activities are indicative of how our
community comes together every day of every week, making it one of the Top 50 in the US, per 24/7 Wall Street. USA Today published the report in early September, focusing on North Canton's affordability, safety, stability and quality of life. The honor follows pre- viously-released rankings by Relocate-America.com (One of America's Top 100 Places to Live), ChamberofCommerce.org (17th Best in Ohio) and SafeWise.com (one of Ohio's 50 Safest Cities). As part of the community for 60 years, the Chamber is proud to call North Canton its home base and continues to promote all we have to offer to current
and future employers and residents.

its Hoover District space in anticipation of over 200 jobs coming to the facility. An October 30 open house at the Orchard Street location is be- ing planned.
Welcome Ryan Grosschmidt to the Chamber Board Welcome Ryan Grosschmidt to the Chamber Board Welcome Ryan Grosschmidt to the Chamber Board Welcome Ryan Grosschmidt to the Chamber Board At its September 19 meet-
ing, the Chamber Board approved CSB's Ryan Grosschmidt as a new member. Ryan serves as an Officer and Banking Center Manager at CSB's North Main location, is a North Canton Resident, and is involved in several community activities, including the Plain Township Far- mers Market. He has been a strong supporter of the North Canton Chamber, and we look forward to his formal involvement with our organization.
Watch Your Mail for BWC CheckWatch Your Mail for BWC CheckWatch Your Mail for BWC CheckWatch Your Mail for BWC Checks s s s The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation is
in the process of sending up to $1.5 billion in dividend checks to employers. Strong invest- ment returns, falling injury claims and other agency cost savings contributed to the rebates. I encourage you to keep an eye out in the mail for the checks, which will be arriving over the next four weeks.
New Overtime Rule New Overtime Rule New Overtime Rule New Overtime Rule Our friends at KWGD shared information you’ll find valuable: The
Department of Labor announced September 24 that employees making less than $35,568 are now eligible for overtime pay. The final rule updates the earnings thresholds necessary to exempt executive, administrative and professional employees from the Fair Labor Stand- ards Act’s minimum wage and OT pay requirements and allows employers to count a portion of certain bonuses/commissions towards meeting the salary level. The final rule is currently pending and the final version may vary slightly. Fore more information, contact any member of KWGD’s Labor and Em-ployment Section at (330) 497-0700.
