Viking BankMore than 400 people gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of Vi-king Bank at the Business & Industrial Appreciation Day (BIAD) luncheon on Wednesday, November 3 at Arrowwood Resort & Conference Center.

Viking Bank was chosen as the 2021 BIAD honoree by the Boards of Directors of the Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission and the Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce based on impact on the job market, impact on the local economy, capital investment and community contributions.

Alomere Health was also recognized with the newly created Legacy Award. This award recipient is a past BIAD honoree and is recognized for continuing to make an impact in the community.

WELL & Company, PLLC hosted a ribbon cutting Thursday, October 28 to celebrate its expansion at 1103 Broadway St., Ste. 102. The company expanded into the space next door adding four clinic rooms, three office spaces and space in the back that can be sub-let to two mental health providers. This expansion allows a larger clinic presence with four providers that offer different specialties.

Wake Up AlexandriaWake Up Alexandria is a networking event held the first and third Friday of each month from 7:30 to 8:30 am at a Chamber member location. A dollar gets you in the door, with all proceeds donated to a 501(c)3 nonprofit Chamber member.

SOWN, an organic oat creamer produced by SunOpta in Alexan-dria, was named a 2021 Best New Product by the trade industry magazine, Progressive Grocer.

The Alexandria Area Community Foundation hosted its annual philanthropy celebration on September 27th to honor Jeanne Batesole and Vern and Judy Anderson with the Ruth McDonald award. This award is given annually to community members who have shown extraordinary support of the community through giving of their time and resources.

First Western Bank & Trust was named one of Prairie Business 50 Best Places to work for the 5th year in a row. This is an employee satisfaction-driven list and is an annual competition.

JLG Architects received this year’s Environmental Stewardship Award from Construction Specification Institute, which is a national not-for-profit association dedicated to improving the communication of construction information.

Teresa Thoennes of CENTURY 21 First Realty, Inc. was awarded the national Graduate REALTOR Institute designation. She earned this by attending an intensive series of classroom instruction on professional standards, legal issues, finance and risk reduction, technology and social media.

Jeff Lindoo of Alexandria was recognized with the Minnesota Retailers Association Lifetime Achievement award as part of the 2021 Minnesota’s Retail Champions program. Lindoo accepted the award at the Retail Rally event on October 5.

Amy Olinger, realtor with Keller Williams Realty was awarded a scholarship for continuing education at the UNITE - State MN Realtor Convention in St. Cloud. The scholarship goes toward a Graduate Realtory Institute designation on her realtor license.
