PHOTOGRAPHY LIBRARYPhotographs captures the moment, record the changes, it make time still. It tells a story and the emotional behind the story of a subject or the photographer.

Connections are an important element of social networking. If there’s good connection between the spacing of a design, people could have better communication; Emotions and thoughts are easier to exchange. Therefore, spaces within the building are categorized separately, yet a connection lives within.

About the program, It separate to 3 stages. The first stage is contact. There are Reception, Lobby, Shops, Exhibition and Cage, People can recognize the photography in here.And the second is learn. There are cinema, library and a learning center. People can join courses and learn more knowledge about Photography.The final stage is practice. There are Studio, Library and Outdoor Place. People can do some workshop and communicate with the others.

CHAN CHAK SHING

One of the biggest advantages of black and white photos is strengthening the line and shape of an object. Also, black, grey and white colour represents different knowledge and message. As I want to create a diversification feeling and give more dynamic to the building, therefore I use those colour and shape elements on the facade.

Connection could be seen within the internal of the building. The relationship of the spacing design helps to capture more sunlight, therefore, less resources will be consume while one will feel comfortable within.

FACADE

Most of the time, interaction and communication are lack in elderly home. Therefore, we create a circulation in the building to connect the building. People can walk up or down on this structure. Also, it opens up more outdoor spaces for the building. It allows enough sunlight and wind to pass through the building.

ELDERLY HOME

Privacy is a very important element of elderly homes. We use many lines and angles to create the façade. It just like a gauze, looks burly but high transparency.

The elderly home was located at Tsuen Wan. There are many buildings surround the elderly home. The red areas from the image represent the most serious level of noise pollution from the district.

APARTMENTThe Apartment was located on Sham Shui Po. There are 5 flats in every single floor. The orientations of 2 of those 5 flats were twisted for a better view. There are 3 types of flats: Double bedroom, Single bedroom and Soho.
