Changes Made To Storyboard And Script In

The First Draft

Script Changes

We changed the “will you come here” in Tiffs line to “come over here” and we made Phil say “What have you found” instead of “What is that”

In the room scene we added a few words to the different lines such as adding “question (line 3)”, “tonight (line 6 and line 14)”, “ please and while (line 11)” and took out a line of lexie which was “okay whatever you say”

We did these script changes in these scenes due to the fact that it made it more natural as it did not look that scripted. Another reason was because when our actors said their lines a lot of it was improvised and said in a way that they remembered it which was very similar to the script but not exactly identical.

We added the fox opening (logo) before shot one to associate our film to our studio/production company which is fox, representing brand identity.

We cut shot 5 short to before tiff started calling Phil and jumped to shot 8 to show the badge. After shot 8 it went back to the rest of shot 5 when tiff was calling Phil. We did this because when we were editing we found that shot 8 looked quite random and didn’t fit in its original place so we moved it to where it is now and found out that it looked better there.

We added another shot between shot 5 and 6 which was a MS of Phil from the side of him saying “what have you found.” We did this because we thought that it would be better to see his face when he said it and for him to say it right after Tiff calls him rather than waiting, as it makes it look more realistic and natural. It also adds more of a variety of different shots in this scene rather than always seeing their bodies.

Instead of the cops putting the guns away in shot 7, we made them just walk close to the object due to the fact that we decided not to have the guns present in the scene anymore.

Shot 7 jumps to shot 9 due to the fact that we moved shot 8 and because it makes the actions look more fluid and continuous. Also there is no more dialogue in Shot 9 since it was Phil’s line that was said in the new shot between shot 5 and 6.

We took out the dialogue in shot 25 due to the fact that it was not really necessary and looked better without it when we were editing.

We took out shot 26 and made it part of shot 27 due to the fact that it made more sense to keep it in one shot and when we were filming we found that shot 27 looked better. When editing it also made it look more fluid and continuous.

We added a new shot within 27 which was a MS of Ali looking in the mirror then went back to 27. We did this because it was something our teacher suggested we do. But most importantly because it showed what Lexie was texting about and it made it more interesting due to the fact that there was a gap between the texting and it wasn’t just the texting going on for a long time.

We moved the dialogue of Ali where she says “Are you….” to shot 28

Shot 32 was shot at a side angle not back due to the fact that it made the shot look better and we liked it more.
