Bright sunshine and a low spring tide lapping on the seashore of Portelet Bay brought crowds of upwards of 90 people to the public auction of The Boat House on Saturday 18th May. Auctioneer Julian Coles of Cooper Brouard announced he had received an opening bid of £150,000 and bids escalated quickly until the property was fi nally ‘knocked down’ for £200,000.

The property which was built by Trinity House in the 1800’s to service Le Hanois Lighthouse has only had three previous owners and there is a chance we will not see a similar property on the market again soon.

Cooper Brouard has held property auctions throughout the island since 2000 ranging from fi elds to commercial buildings and from building plots to renovation projects. There has been a one bedroom pied-a-terre in Town, superb rural farmhouses and most types and styles of property in between. Record auction prices at the time have been achieved on both Open Market and, on two separate occasions, the Local Market when Cooper Brouard broke its own record.

Julian Coles draws on Cooper Brouard’s wide knowledge and experience in property auctions. To discuss the auction potential of your property contact Julian on (01481) 236039 or email [email protected].
