Chapter 1 – Week 1You will be given a visual problem, a problem that needs a solution. You will look at the nature of the problem, what is being asked of you, and how you are going resolve it and therefore find a solution to it.

You will research the problem through review and experimentation.

You will then analyse the results of your review and your experiments.

You will then detail what the solution is, both in words and practically.

You are going to sign up to Twitter and Instagram, follow as many relevant people and create as many # as you can think of.

You are going to produce a General Interactive Media Report, that looks at the curent state of Social Media today.

Problems & Solutionshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjixKHkQxA0&t=1478s

Analysis Time (20:42-22:48, 2:08 Minuets)

20:42-20:54

Straight away we are introduced to several characters but judging by the positions of the people the front three are the most important with the less important characters at the back. You can see that the teacher has a patronising demeaner in this scene as he is trying to teach somebody that has never played football before. On the other hand, the character on the left who is the main character (Who I will refer to as Stephen) in these scenes is standing looking very bored, almost as if he already knows how to play football and the teacher is just wasting his time. This is further shown when a MS is used to show Stephen not even looking at what the teacher is doing which shows that he is perhaps arrogant and has a lot of confidence.

20:54-21:01

Stephen then begins to run towards the stationary camera which shows the sheer pace that he is running, which makes the audience confused as the character of Stephen doesn’t like sports, but it turns out that he is good. We can now see Stephen is out of the frame and it now just shows the rest of the team standing there still with shocked expressions on their faces, this is reinforced using the steady-cam which starts as a WS of the teacher and then moves into a CU which shows how surprised he is.

21:01-21:09

The Steady-cam is used again in this first shot which shows the audience how quickly and skilfully he is moving away and around the opposition in the football match, during this shot Stephen is always in the middle of the shot and has a relaxed expression on this face making it look like he feels the game is too

Page 5: Chapter 1 – Week 1  · Web viewUAL Diploma Creative Media Production. Student Name: Tom Page. Pathway: Film and TV Level 3. Figure 1: (Sergio Aguero, 2012 (FourFourTwo). Unit 5

easy for him. In the next shot a pan is used to show how good Stephen’s footwork is around the football and how easily and effortless it is for him.

21:09-21:17

During these shots it shows CU’s of the rest of the team mates and crowd members reacting to Stephen scoring such a good goal, in addition to this these characters all have shocked expressions on their faces which reinforces my point about it being abnormal that Stephen is good at football.

21:17-21:29

The Steady-cam is used during these shots to show how happy the team were that they scored a goal as beforehand they were all nervous as many of them had never played football before. In my opinion the camera is meant to have some movement into it as it replicates what the players are doing which is jumping up and down just not as extranet.

21:52-21:59

The next shot shows that the teacher is saving the goals from going into the back of the net which shows that it’s not just Stephen that’s playing well but the teacher is playing well which shows that Stephen has motivated the team to play well. Then a Low angle shot is used to show the teacher standing up and celebrating about saving the goal which shows that he is getting more confident through the game.

22:28-22:48

These shots show Stephen scoring the last goal that equalises for the team which makes for an amazing comeback, it then shows Stephen celebrating with the rest of the team and then as the team disappear Stephen is doing hand stands on his own which shows that he is on his own to celebrate almost as if he did it all himself which is did. There is movement in these shots which maybe shows that it was shot from the perspective from a teammate as the camera is moving a little bit which would of probably of been filmed using the steady-cam.

Interactive Media Report

Interactive media is a form of communication in which the user can dictate what happens in that chosen media source, so the user’s inputs will affect the program’s outputs (Investopedia, n.d.).

Social media can be viewed as either a very good thing or bad thing however it all depends on who you ask, for example with the older generation some of which can be untrusting of more modern social media platforms. There’s always been some form of interactive media whether it be Facebook or listening to the radio. Social media is growing day by day with more people seeking to keep in touch with family and friends with more ease, the most popular social media platform is Facebook with about 2.07 billion users (Bennett, 2011) and these users are diverse with all age groups using Facebook. Although Social Media is a good way to keep in contact with other people it can also be used in negative ways with bullying for example. There have been increasing numbers in bullying in social media in recent years which is a very terrifying thought as some of these bullied victims have even amounted to suicide. The purpose of social media is to keep in contact with your friends however many younger people have hundreds of people on their friends lists despite them not knowing all of them, just ask yourself would you give your 400 friends on Facebook your number and your address? Social media does a brilliant job at connecting people to the rest of the world which can help with: finding a new job or looking for a new partner or friend just to name a few. In addition to this many debates happen on social media with people sharing their opinions and views about certain topics. An example of a past interactive media is the radio, the radio is not only used to broadcast music and debates but the interactive part in this is when the public can call into these shows and influence the outcome, for example if this is BBC radio 1 then the listeners can call/message in asking for music requests which makes it interactive.

Social Media Report

I signed up to both Twitter & Instagram as they are the most popular forms of social media in the media industry, the name I chose was @TomPageFilm as it was not only short, but it also will keep people thinking about my name which can be good for publicity. The other important part about these names is that it tells other users exactly what my twitter is about ‘Film/Filming’. I found it difficult at first to think of good hashtags that would get popular however I just decided to use words that described what my work was about, in addition to this I also used trending hashtags that applied to my work so that active users will be able to see my work. Following relevant people would be key to not only finding out more about the media industry but to also get other people to see my work, so I decided to follow people that were involved in tv shows and films that I like for example: Prison Break, Lost, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones just to name a few. I haven’t just followed the actors that appeared in these films as I doubt they have any time to view my content however I did follow people that did all the behind the scenes stuff as they might be willing to view so of my videos. It is also very important to make an attractive looking profile otherwise other users won’t hang about, so I created a simple logo and banner which says exactly what this profile is about ‘Tom Page Films’.

Camera Movement Storyboard

I was instructed to make a storyboard which shows the use of different camera angles and most importantly shows camera movement, the story had to be created by ourselves.

Having watched Episode 1 Series 1, your research planning will commence.

Visual Solutions

I have decided to look at the opening office scene of Sam walking in looking confused about his surroundings (11:30 -).

Things to consider about this office scene:

Character Outfits – Police Officer Uniform, Old Fashioned Suits, and Sam’s Outfit

Old Fashioned Suits – There are plenty of old vintage suits out there on the internet which aren’t too expensive: e.g. - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-1970s-Men-s-Suit/232629290434?

Old ChairsThese Charis would fit perfectly with the scene of the police office as they both look like they could be from the 1970’s as they look cheap and simple, some of the character’s will have their suit jackets over the chairs so it will make it look even more authentic. - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Set-of-4-Steel-Metal-Industrial-Dining-Chair-Kitchen-Bistro-Cafe-

All of these telephones have a retro look to them with the old layout of telephone which in my opinion makes me think of the 60’s/70’s which is exactly the image that I want to portray. - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GPO-746-Telephone-Retro-Vintage-Style-Desk-Phone-Working-

Sounds

Audio problems that may come up is finding the audio on the internet for an old-fashioned phone ringing, instead of finding this online which is the easy way the other way is to buy a vintage phone yourself and then to record it. Another problem that may occur is that the actors may struggle at the beginning to speak in a cockney accent which is quite a big problem as if they change their voices it may make the audience disinterested. Another problem is using the slang that they used during the 70’s correctly however this could be easy if they have somebody that used to use this slang back when they were in the 70’s.

Twitter and Instagram Update

Although I only have a couple of followers now it is very interesting as to who is following me, one of these followers is somebody that is in the media industry and labels himself as not only a Producer and Writer but also a director, upon further inspection he used to be a producer and director for roughly 20 films. This can be a very helpful follower to have as when I publish more and more of my films that I create then it will allow him to see it and perhaps give feedback and constructive criticism.

During this week I decided to follow a number of people in the media industry in general to try and publicise my work as much as possible. I started by researching people that were involved in my favourite television shows, so I looked up the following: Lost, Prison Break and The Office just to name a few. As these television shows had massive studios which included many people involved in producing them then there would be more of a chance that the less known people in the industry would be able to follow me back and see what I have produced. I would like it if some of them would follow me back and kind of remember how hard it was for themselves to get into the industry and maybe take 5 minutes out of their day to view my page and the content that I have produced so far.

I have uploaded my first project that I have created at College which is my ‘Hello Project’. Although it is not perfect I am proud of what I have created as it is one of the first videos that I have ever made, and despite this not being perfect I hope to learn from it in the future by people who have experience in the industry to give me good feedback and constructive criticism to help me to improve with perhaps editing, camera work or when it comes to writing the script up to name a few.

Audio Story

With this task we were experimenting with recording an audio story, we were put into teams of 4 (Myself, Reeve, Ben and Megan) and we had to record the story of Big Billy Goat Gruff and then edit it together in avid using the Foley sounds we recorded that would fit the story and other sounds that we had found online. We first started to record with the Q2 around the college looking for ideas to create Foley sounds, although we didn’t use much of the Foley sounds we created we still had experience with creating the sounds and how it can make it sound like it’s something else. We initially found it quite hard to record Foley sounds as it was difficult finding somewhere that is quite enough so the background audio won’t be picked up, which was the case for some of the recordings. However one of the Foley sounds I did use was the Troll jumping down into the water making a splashing sound, to create this we used a bottle of water and shook it and it surprisingly sounded good. We then needed to record the narration of the story so we went down to the radio room at college and recorded all of the voices that we needed which went quite well as there wasn’t any background noise that was picked up. When it came to editing I used the websites Sound Bible and Free Sounds to find sounds that had already been recorded and uploaded by other people.

Specific Interactive Media Report

(Radio) TalkSport: An example of a radio station is TalkSport which is a current form of interactive media, the genre of the show is sport as although it is mainly focused at football it also covers other sports. The style of the station is quite relaxed, the station offers commentaries of sporting matches, presenting breaking news headlines and Caller phone-in just to name a few. There are a number of different ways that it can be accessed: There is a website they have in which you can listen along to, they can be listened to on digital radio both at home or in the car and they finally have an app so that people can listen to it on their phones and tablets. The target audience of this particular radio station is for most sporting fans but mainly football fans as when matches have finished they allow fans to call in and talk about the positives and negatives of the game which can spark debates. There are a few parts that make it interactive: the first being my previous point, fans can call in asking questions and giving opinions which can change the flow of the show, the other interactive part is social media, mainly twitter, however Facebook and Instagram are involved, is used asking for the viewers to give topics that can be talked about on the show. It is a very successful form of interactive media as they have a massive returning audience that either tune in to listen to games when they aren’t at home so there will always be a demand for them.

(Tv Show) X-Factor: An example of a TV show that is interactive is X-factor, the genre of the TV show is music and it consists of wannabe music artists looking to get a record deal with the stars of X-factor. The style of the show consists of the audience voting as to who they believe is the better singer until there is a winner. It is available on ITV to watch live which can also be watched on the computer, phone or tablets. In addition to this the phone serves another use as the audience can now vote using the X-factor app too. The target audience for x-factor is for under 21’s in my opinion, mainly targeted at the younger audience as it sends a good message to them that they can follow their dreams. As I mentioned before the interactive

Figure 3 (Big Billy Goat Gruff (Galdone, 2006)

part of the tv show is the voting element of the show, whoever wins the x-factor is whoever the audience vote. The audience can either vote by calling in on the phone however this does cost, or they could vote via the X-factor app. The X-factor is a very successful tv show and that shows just by the amount of time it’s been running for, in addition to this when viewing the viewing statistics for the programme it has very consistent high levels.

(Video Game) Heavy Rain: Heavy rain is an interactive drama video game which the genre’s being action-adventure, however thriller aspects are in the game too. The video game is interactive because the story is determined by the user, they are given decisions throughout the game that can influence the ending which makes it very interactive. It was published by Sony so the only consoles that can run the game is the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. As the game is an 18, the game is aimed at young adults however as the game is focusing on one man’s life taking a bad turn people looking for a good story will become emotionally attached to. In addition to this it is targeted at gamers who want don’t want to play games that have fixed endings but otherwise games that can have several different endings like Heavy Rain. The interactive element of the game is that the user can pick from several options which makes the game interactive as the story can end in a number of different ways and it all depends on what decisions the user makes whether they be ethical or not. The game was and still is very successful as not only was it released on the PlayStation 3 in 2010 it was also release on the PlayStation 4 in 2016 which shows that there was obviously a demand for the game and the fact that it was remastered shows that they created a massive audience and fan base.

(Tv Show) Deal or No Deal: The Tv shows genre is a game show with the main permeance being that people apply to be on the show with a select number being selected at a time, these candidates each take their turns with playing the game, the game is played by randomly picking a box at a time with the aim to get low amounts of money in the boxes with the banker offering different amounts of money depending on how well you picked, With the goal being that you have two boxes left and the one that you pick is the one with the more money. The Game show can be watched on Channel 4 and has been running since 2005, the target audience of this tv show is perhaps people looking for ways to make money which they can easily do if they pick correctly on the show, on the other hand when it comes to target audiences for watching the game show it will be for the older generation as it is usually shown during the day when adults will be at work and children will be at school. The interactive part of the game show is that the contestants can pick whatever box they want so their destiny is in their hands, it is their decision whether they want to take the bankers offer or if they want to continue playing the game with the hope of making more money. The Tv show is and was very successful as it has been running since 2005 which shows that there have been people watching it, furthermore another example of it being successful is the fact that another show was made called celebrity deal or no deal which means that there was obviously a market for it.

(Video Game) Alien Isolation VR: This video game is a horror adventure game that follows on from the films storylines, however Amanda Ripley looks to find her mother in deep space. The game is available on all the following platforms: PlayStation 4 and 3, Xbox 360 and One, and finally on PC. The target audience of this game is aimed at quite a wide audience of fans, it is firstly aimed at the young adult’s market as the game is rated 18+ so people who are into horror games, however it is also aimed at people who watched the films when they came out. There are a few interactive elements in this game, firstly the user uses a controller to play the game which means that it is totally up to them as to how they play the game and most importantly if they win or not. The game also has been released on the new technology of VR which adds another element of interactivity for the user, when the user wants to do actions in the game they have to use gestures and slight movement, in addition to this there are additional features in the game that allows the game to listen to you so that if you start to make loads of noise then the aliens will hear you. The game is very successful, the game has released on many platforms which shows how popular the game has been with not just gaming fans but avid movie fans. Furthermore, the game has also won many awards which

Social Media Week 3 ReviewWhat have I found out about Twitter and Instagram?

I have found out a lot about Twitter and Instagram whilst using them for this course, the main thing I learnt is that it can be very hard to get followers on either platforms and the majority of followers you do get are fake so they aren’t genuine profiles. In addition to this i have found it harder to get started on Instagram than Twitter, this is for a number of different reasons that i will begin to go over. Firstly, this may be a personal thing but I find it easier to relay information through text as appose to images therefore i found Twitter took preference between the two.

What are Twitter and Instagram’s Strengths and Weaknesses?

A strength of Twitter is the sheer amount of people that use the platform in the media industry which can make it very good to keep track of your favourite media figures. However, a weakness of Twitter is that it can be very hard to find the real account of a popular person as there are many fake accounts of there. This is a similar weakness of Instagram however it is more prevalent on this platform, on the other hand an advantage of Instagram is it is a great way to display all your work that you have produced as if a user visits your account they can see instantly what your work looks like. Another notable strength of Twitter is the easy use of it and how user friendly it is.

What was Successful for you?

I found Twitter was the most successful of the two for me, this is for a number of reasons, but I felt like users on Twitter had a lot more time and patience when looking at other users whereas on Instagram, I am a victim of this too, users just have a quick scam through the profile.

What would you do to improve your success?

There are many things I could of done in addition to have more success on these platform, an example of this is on Instagram, I wasn’t as active as I should of been purely done to the fact that I already knew it was hard to get followers and publicity on Instagram. Whilst on Twitter, although I partly did it, is to follow less well-known actors or editors just to name a couple as they may be a bit more willing to view others work. Another thing I could do to improve my success is to post more of my work to my twitter page as it will not only show off my work, but it will also show that I am active and that I care about what image I am giving off.

Analysis Interactive Media Report

Netflix Series: This idea is already in the process of being created but the basics of it is that the user can decide what characters do and don’t do in movies and television in a “Choose your own adventure” style. This will add massive amounts of replay ability like video games are with the audience returning time and time again for a different outcome or just for curiosity reasons. This will of course increase production time when making these movies and television shows as they will need to write and record many more scenes to make the audience really feel like they are apart of the story and their decisions can create an impact. The interactive part of this media will be the ability for the user to pick many dialogue options to progress the storyline. An example of a show with this in is called Puss in Book as you can see from the image I have provided there will be an algorithm of different options that the audience can go with. This will be available on Netflix however when it comes to interactive television shows I believe it will be integrated in television channels in the future. The target audience in my opinion will be aimed at 16-21 as with this age range they will have a lot of free time on their hands, time that can be spent choosing their own adventure. I believe it will be a massive success and will transform television and movies in the future.

VR What am I: This idea is the creation of the popular card game ‘What am I?’ to be brought to the new video game technology of VR. The idea of this game is pretty similar to the real-life card game however you can play the game over the internet with your friends. In which one person will have to guess what is on their card whilst the other players are trying to gibe them clues. The game will be available with a VR device which will be connected to either the PlayStation 4, the Xbox one or a computer and can be purchased online. The target audience will be aimed at young families as it is very much a family game. The interactive element will be that the users will be able to play the game using VR, so they will be wearing the VR goggles. In my opinion it will be a massive success as parents are always looking for new ways to connect with their children and this game will be a good way for them to do this whilst using current technology.

Figure 5: VR (Dennis, 2017)

Cinema decisions: With this idea the audience will be able to vote in the cinema with what decision they want to go with, then which ever is the most popular answer will be the outcome that happens. It will be an optional experience for the viewer to go and participate in and will be available in cinemas. The target audience will be for young adults as they will put some thought into their answers as appose to younger people using it, they will treat it as a joke. This will be a failure in my opinion as this will cause arguments amongst people that don’t know each other, however for openminded people it may work as they will just be excited to go and watch and see how the film turns out.

Red Dead Redemption 2: Red Dead Redemption 2 is a video game that will be coming out in 2018, the game is a Western-themed action-adventure game. The style of the game will be controlling a character via a third person perspective when moving however when aiming with your gun the game will change to first person. The target audience of this video game is 18-25-year olds, the legal age of this game is 18+ so that will be the minimum age targeted at and the age will go up to 25 in my opinion as this will cater for people that played the previous game. On the other hand, the game may be aimed at an older market of 50-55 years old, this is because they would have been growing up when western films were being released which may mean that they still have an interest in the genre. The interactive feature of the game is that the player will use a controller to control the characters in the game, the controller’s buttons will carry out actions that the player wants to perform which means that the player is fully in control of what happens during the game. This game will be very successful in my opinion as the games franchise already has a massive following which will make it a success, however it will also be successful because it is being developed by a company that puts a lot of time and effort into their work which pretty much guarantees that the game will be a success.

Slender Man: Slender man is a new film coming out in 2018 which is based off the video game based around the cult figure of slender man and the film’s genre will be a horror. The film will initially be available in the cinema for the first weeks and will then be released online selling it on both DVD and Blu-ray. The target audience of this film will be for the young adult so the ages of 18-24, although the films legal minimum age hasn’t been released yet I’d guess it

Figure 6: Cinema Screen (Baratto, 2017)

Figure 7: Red Dead Redemption 2 (Young, 2017)

Figure 8: Slender Man Movie (Burwick, 2018)

would be 18 considering the films description. I say this age range because this age of people would have been heard of the Slender man game when it came out, so they would be targeted by the film’s director to appeal to them. This film will be very successful in my opinion as it builds on the great story of the slender man that was created in a video game.

Interactive Fridge: This idea is an interactive fridge in which the user can program into the fridge what items they have brought and put in the fridge and then they can view on their phones and other devices what is in their fridge. In addition to this other feature that the fridge can hold is the ability to know when food in the fridge is going out of date so when that happens it will prompt the user to bin the food and buy a new product. This system could even be linked up to your supermarket accounts, so it will add to your home delivery orders all the food you need instead of having to place it manually. This interactive fridge will be available at all leading furniture shops and in addition to this will be available online too. The target audience for this piece of technology will be for house-wives in my opinion as they will have busy lives looking after they’re children and cleaning the house I doubt they will have time to order more food therefore not only will it be ordered for them but they can also check on their phones what is in the fridge, which can come in handy if they are already at the shops and want to know if they need to get any milk for example. I believe it will be very successful as people are looking for things that will make their lives easier all the time which this will. The only thing that may halt it doing well is the initial price I suspect it will be only for the rich and wealthy at the beginning.

Interactive Bath: The user can set how high they’d like the bath water to go in the bath and they would program it into the censor which will then fill up the bath with water, this water’s temperature can be adjusted to whatever the user wants. An option will be implemented that will allow preferences to be set so that the user can get the same settings as they have previously set before. This will become available from online internet marketplaces however as it becomes more common supermarkets will start selling cheaper alternatives. There isn’t really an old range when it comes to target audience of these interactive baths as I can see all ages finding a use for these baths, however I feel like it would be aimed at the older range of people specifically 50-56 as the equipment won’t be cheap so within that age range they will have more disposable income. Other target audiences include the disabled as this can be a very helpful way for them to fill their baths without much hassle. I believe it will be mildly successful as it serves as a very helpful piece of technology however I find that a lot more people are having showers than baths nowadays, but they may adapt their technology for a shower version.

Research for your pre-prepoduction planning for Friendship - See Separate Brief

When recording the long shot we encountered a number of issues for example we wanted to use the shotgun mic on the boom pole as we initially thought that it would be ample because of the long pole so it would have been out of frame, however in the location we were filming in the subject was higher up so it made it even more difficult to record audio with the shotgun mic. To solve this we instead didn’t use the shotgun microphone, alternately we could of used a lapel microphone as they are discrete and are very good at recording close specific audio, on the other hand if this was a scenario of an interview then a dynamic microphone could have been used as they are great for recording audio and you don’t have to worry about hiding the microphone as the audience accept it being on show. Shown below is an example of how you can’t use a shotgun microphone in this situation to record a long shot.

Treatment

Background Motivation – The background motivation for me creating a video displaying Friendship in the format of an interview is to attempt to replicate already successful videos. I wanted to do this idea of an interview because I feel like it will how off my skills, mainly in framing and my camera work however if I can get a nice edit then it will show off my editing skills too. Influences – There are a number of influences on me for creating my friendship project in the format of an interview. First of all music videos, although this video won’t be a music video of such sorts I have ideas of adding some background music whether that be an actual song or just somebody playing perhaps a piano or guitar. There are music videos on YouTube that I have taken massive influences from, particularly with how well they are edited and most importantly the camera movement and camera shots. Some of these music videos adopt this interview style to good affect which has inspired me to create similar scenarios. In addition to this other influences include some TV shows, more so comedies despite the fact my video won’t be a comedy, in particular is the Office (The Uk Version) as I feel like they had perfect framing and use of shot types which I hope to replicate when filming my video. Whilst researching a music video that I did enjoy was Seafret –Wildfire the music video is pretty much based on an interview situation which is the kind of look that I want to go for.

What I’m trying to achieve – There are many things that I wish to achieve when creating this video on Friendship however most importantly I want to remind the audience what Friendship really means, in addition to this is for the audience to realise who their friends really are and most importantly who aren’t. However when it comes to personal goals I believe that doing this idea will help to develop my skills not just in composing video but also in editing as this can be quite a tricky edit especially down to the fact that timing is a very important factor.

2 – Mid Shot

Character 1 will be sitting down on a chair and will saying “Hello” back to the interviewer.

This will now be a Mid Shot of character 1 sitting down, the interviewer will say “hello” and the character 1 will say “Hello” back.

3 - MCU Character 1 will be sitting down on a chair for the interview and will be answering the questions whilst looking at the off-camera interviewer.

It will then move into a MCU of character 1 sitting and looking at the interviewer who will be out of frame. The interviewer will then say “Ok, what does Friendship mean to you?”

4 - MCU The shot will consist of character 1 walking forwards with the camera following them filming over their shoulder. When editing I will slow down the video which will give it a cool affect for the audience and it will suit the slow-paced vibe of the video.

The audio will be playing of character 1 answering the question.

5 – Mid Shot

The shot will be a Mid Shot of character 2 talking about what friendship means to them, there won’t be much structure with what the characters say however it obviously needs to answer the questions.

Character 2 will then be displayed answering “What does Friendship mean to you?” the character will begin by saying “To me”.

Synopsis

The premise is that it will be a cinematic video of an interview scenario taking place, with myself asking a number of people who are on my college course questions for example “What does Friendship mean to you?” .Their responses will be edited together smoothly with a number of cinematic shots being used for example of one of the interviewees walking forwards. I plan to additionally add some kind of music to the video whether that be just a piano or guitar playing or it will be non-copyrighted music.

Inside Canterbury CollegeMy first location I would like to film at is the recording studio in the college, this is my first-choice location as it will be perfect. In the studio I will be able to record perfect audio in there however I won’t have the background that I really want. However, my other location is the classroom that I edit in, this would be perfect as the location will be perfect when it comes to having a good background however when recording the audio there may be other students in the room which may be picked up.

Sun LocationThe sun I don’t think with be an issue with my filming, firstly because most of the footage will be filmed inside the college therefore the sun won’t affect it. Then secondly when I do go out and film outside of the college having the sun shining on the actors may give a good look to the video.

View from inside looking outWhen filming inside the college my main recording location will be in the recording room/tv room and there aren’t any windows looking outside in there so there will be no view from inside looking out.

External Surroundings (noise interference) There will be no external noise interference when recording in the tv room as I will only film in there if it is empty however if it is being used then I will try and record in the class room, the only problem with filming in there is that there may be other students in there but I will be using a lapel microphone, so it will mainly only pick up the actors audio.

Type of FloorThe floor is carpet so that won’t be much echo

Type of WallcoveringThe wallcovering is just a cream paint colour.

I will not be filming close enough to any roads that traffic noise will be an issue, however if cars are driving close by I will be using lapel microphones, so it will be very hard for cars to be brought up.

External Filming – Source of Power available? When filming outside the source of power for my equipment will be battery powered so I won’t need any power outlets to plug them in other than to recharge them, but I will make sure that I have charged all of the batteries to avoid this.

External Filming – road access/parking This is not applicable as I won’t be filming or stopping on any roads, so I won’t be blocking any cars from driving about or attempting to park.

External Filming – public interference When filming out and around Canterbury College there will obviously be other students around the college which may prove to be a problem as I don’t want to get them on video, however I will be videoing during lesson time so that there will be a very low chance that there will be other students that get in the way.
