Cellular RespirationWhen humans
breathe, laugh or talk, we release carbon dioxide. This process is called cellular respiration. In cellular respiration, humans take in food and oxygen and release carbon dioxide and water to produce energy.
Respiration= C6H12O6 (glucose)
+ 6O2 (oxygen)-----------> 6CO2 +6H2O + energy

Breathing mechanicsInspiration Expiration
Inhalation- moves air into the lungs
Diaphragm: muscles separating the abdomen from thoracic cavity
Exhalation- moves air out of the lungs
