    A skateboarder in a race is travelling at 10ms-1as he crosses the finishing line. He then

    decelerates uniformly until coming to rest over a distance of 20m.

    (a) What is his acceleration?

    (b) How long does he take to come to rest?

    A driver accelerates his car from 20ms-1with an acceleration of 2ms-1. What is his velocity after

    8 seconds?

    A rocket travelling at 2000ms-1increases its velocity to 6000ms-1after moving a distance of

    80km. calculate the time for the rocket to reach this velocity.

    A sprinter reaches his top velocity in 3 seconds after starting from rest. He covers a

    displacement of 24m in 3 seconds. What is his acceleration?
