    1/1

Set of interrel ated actions andactivities performed to create apre-specified product, service orresult.PMP have Inputs and outputs

Performed by the project team withstakeholder interaction, generally fall into1 of 2 major categories:

Ensures effective flow of the p rojectthroughout its life cycle.

    Speciftyand create the projects product

    is an integrative undertaking that

andconnected with the other procces tofacilitate coordination

Processes performed todefine a new project or new phase.

Required to establish thescope of the project, refine theobjectives.

To complete the workdefined in the project.

Processesreequired to track and regulate progress.

Finallize all activites acrossall Process Gropus to formally close theproject or phase.

    Common PMP Interactions

PM requires Monitoring and controlling tointeract with other procees groups. PMPgroups are linked by the outputs wich areproduced.Output of one process becomesan input to another process o

    PMP groups

5 Process groups have dependencies. The process groups are not project lifecycles phases.PMP are shown in theprocess group in wich most of the relatedactivities take place.

    Intiating Process groups

The initial scope is defined andinitialfinancial resources are commited. Internaland external stakeholders who willinfluence the overall outcome of theproject are identified. This information iscaptured in the project charter and

stakeholder register.Project boundarydefined when a project is authorized. Keypurpose=Align stakeholders expectationswith project purpose.

    Planning pr ocess groups

Consists of those processes performed toestablish the total scope of the effort, define and redefine objectives, anddevelop course of action to attain thoseobjectives.Use of repeated feedbackloops for additional analysis.

    Executing process group

Those processses performed to completethe work defined in the p rojectmanagement plan to satisfy the projectspecifications. This p rocess involveintegrating activites of the project inaccordance with the project managementplan. The results of the analysisi cantrigger change requests.

    Monitoring and controllingprocess group

Consist of those processes required toreview the progress, performance ofproject, and initiate correspondingchanghes. Involves:a)Controlling changes and correct.b)Monitoring the ongoing project activitiesagainst the PMP.c)Influencing the factors that couldintegrate change control

    Closing

Processes performed to conclude alllactivities across the PMP groups toformally complete the project.

This process group can establish the

premature closure of the p roject.

    Project information

Data and information collected, analyzed, transformed, and d istributes invarious formats to projcet team membersand other stakeholders. That data are:

    Observationsand measurements identified duringactivities.

Performance data collected from variouscontrolling processes.Work performance reports.- The physicalor electronic representation of workperformance information compiled inproject documents.

    Role of knowledge areas

47 project management processes aregrouped in 10 separate Knowledgeareas.Which are:Integration,Scope,Time,Cost,Quality,Humanresource,Communications,Risk,Procurement,Sakeholders.
