Each time a student is verbally praised for exhibiting respectful (any expectation word can be used) behavior, they can go to board and put their own initials in a square. Be sure to praise specifically, e.g. “Thanks for picking up her pencil,” rather than “Thanks for being respectful.” 4. When the predetermined number and position of squares is complete, everyone in that row (or column, etc.) receives the reward. (Try a MYSTERY ENVELOPE posted near the chart.
