Main Characters
Commander Stephen Haddock-Reiss
Commander Stephen Haddock-Reiss (Call sign Echo 6) is an American 35 year old father from
Austin, Texas. He is your average guy with an athletic build, weighing around 170lbs and
standing at 5ft 11. Reiss is well-mannered and has looks to match, being a smart looking man
with a square jaw and dark mid length hair that is greying down the sides. He has short facial
stubble and a distinguishing burn on the right side of his neck from an incident that occurred
during military service.
Reiss graduated from the University of Texas Arlington (UTA) in 1999 with a bachelors degree
in engineering, and later became a part of the 160th
Special Operation Aviation Regiment
(S.O.A.R) in the airborne division acting as both a pilot and an engineer. Haddock-Reiss served 5
tours as a helicopter pilot with his regiment from 2000 to 2009, during the time in which hemarried his wife, Allyson Haddock-Reiss, in 2003. Three years later in 2006, they had their first
child, Arianna, which later lead to Reiss retirement from active duty in 2009 to ensure he was
around for his daughters future. He remained in the military and decided to become an
astronaut after meeting the requirements for the job, already having piloting experience and a
bachelors in engineering.
Four years on in 2012, Reiss finished his latest training and briefing which would see him travel
to the Esperanto Space station (launched from Washington in 1991) to replace Space Pilot
Mark Poborsk , where he starts his first 8 month rotation before returning home.
Lesko
In reality; Lesko is an inanimate vintage marionette left behind on the Esperanto Space station
that belongs to Czech space pilot Mark Poborsk. Lesko was built in the small town of Litomysl
by a lone carpenter, looking to make enough money to start his own farm. The carpenter
created puppets which he would transport weekly to Prague to be sold at the busy markets,
eventually where Poborsk brought Lesko. Lesko has a round red nose, with deep black eyes
and bears a dull expression on his face. He has protruding ears and big lips, and is dressed in
smart gentlemens attire(similar to that of the 1800s) with a ruffled cravat round his neck.
Through the self-inflicted insanity of Haddock-Reiss as the narrative develops, Lesko becomes
an animated figment of the commanders imagination and becomes a portrayal of evil that
seems to want to cause trauma to the pilot himself. Lesko develops into a mysterious and eerie
character that lurks in the darkness and appears in the dreams and hallucinations of Reiss
which gradually worsen over the course of time.

Minor Characters
Mark Poborsk
Mark Poborsk is a veteran space pilot from Prague who has served 11 rotations on the
Esperanto Space station. At the age of 46, Poborsk is one of the oldest astronauts to be in
active service, however, spending so much time over the years in isolation has taken its toll on
Poborkss mentality, making him a slightly odd character.
Flight Control
Flight Control is the communication line that is situated at the NASA headquarters which has
direct contact with the inhabitant of Esperanto Space station. Flight control acts as an overseer
for the lone astronaut while conducting their duties, and is manned constantly while a pilot is inspace. Updates on progress and wellbeing are required to be sent back to Flight control on a
regular basis via video communication links within the vessel.
