Page 1: Characters
Page 2: Characters

The characters that are seen in our film trailer, are generally the main

characters in the film. There has been use of unimportant characters

in the trailer, but this was simply to help move the trailer along

smoothly, these are known as vehicle characters.

When creating our trailer, my team and I had to try and make the

characters relatable to a working class audience, at this point is when

the stereotype of suggesting all working class people are ‘chavs’

came into play with our film.

Despite the fact we did make our characters dress in joggers and

hoodies to connote the working class area, we also had a scene at a

party where the characters got a chance to dress formal, I think by my

team and I doing this, it balances out that for the rest of the movie the

working class area will be seen as slightly ‘chavvy’.

Page 3: Characters

The female characters in our film we’re not represented as ‘chavvy’ as

the females were the ones trying to break up the fighting and to stop

the madness, therefore it was only right that we made the girls in the

film look as though they belonged to a higher class to show they were

above the fighting.

The males on the other hand wanted to continue with the violence,

this is why we had to make them look like ‘chavs’ as in our society

today, ‘chavs’ are seen as destructive, so by us sticking to the

stereotypes it is easier for our audience to see what class and social

group we are representing.

Page 4: Characters

In our trailer Josh plays Romeo

who has found the love of his

life, but one problem... She is in

the opposing gang, who’s

brother is the leader of.

In the trailer Romeo is shown as a ‘chav’

for this we had to get Josh out of his style

of clothing and into something he was not

so comfortable in.

By being able to change his costume we

were able to create a realistic effect of the

stereotype of the working

class and how they are portrayed.

Page 5: Characters

In our trailer Beth plays Juliet.

Juliet has fallen for Romeo in the opposite

gang and is also best friends with Kenzie

who is also in the opposite gang. Her

brother Blake is constantly wanting to fight

Romeo, but Juliet has to try and stop him

without having letting him find out about

them two.

So where does it all go wrong for Juliet

when a gun is pulled to her face?!

In the film Beth’s costume is typically what

she would wear everyday anyway (well

apart from the party scenes, I doubt she’d

wear a dress everywhere ).

Page 6: Characters

In our trailer Alex plays Alex

(creative I know ).

Alex is Romeo’s best friend, and

helps him try to be with Juliet

even though he knows it is

wrong.

As you can see, Alex’s style of

clothing is not usually joggers

and hoodies, so with him willing

to change his costume, it was

able to give our film a real sense

of authenticity.

Page 7: Characters

In our trailer Hannah plays Kenzie, who is

in Romeo’s gang but is best friends with

Juliet, who is obviously in the opposite

gang. Kenzie is also seeing someone, but

the mystery around that makes us wonder

who that is, could it be Blake?

In the film Hannah’s costume is typically

what she would wear everyday anyway

(well apart from the party scenes, I doubt

she’d wear a dress everywhere ).

Page 8: Characters

In our trailer Ryan plays

Blake, who is Juliet’s

brother, and is the leader of

their gang. Despite Juliet

being worried about Blake

finding out she is in love

with Romeo.

Although he has a secret to hide himself as

he has a mystery girl, is it Kenzie?

Again, as you can see Ryan also had to

change his costume to a make him appear

as a working class character.
