...In this boxed set of ten photopolymer etchings, Charles Cullen has chosen as his subject both the form and the substance of the hallucinatory experiences from the Circe chapter of Joyce’s Ulysses. The images relate and cohere not as individualised attempts at illustration but as a reconfigured imaginative response filtered through the lens of his own experience.
