President Reg Stewart

Read the answer when the Dalai Lama was asked what surprised him most about humanitly.

“Man.”

Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.

Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.

Then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present: the result being that he does not live in the present or the future: he lives as if he is never going to die.

Then he dies having never really lived.

Speaker 1: Denise Tomlinson Assisted by David Tomlinson Title: An Indian travelogue: 12 days in Goa. Goa was formerly apart of Portugal before it was taken over by India. Because of that the style and colour of the houses within the Goa look very much as those in Portugal. They had an amazing adventure in India visiting many historical sites including a fort which is now being restored. The story of Jungle Book was a stage play and they were the only people in the audience and the show went on just for them. Denise rode an elephant and was washed by it. They visided Delhi and the Taj Mahal showing us many beautiful photos off all their experiences including visiting Spice markets and riding a Rickshaw. Making a quote at the end of their travelogue. ‘It will be all right in the end, if not, it will be all right.

Speeches of the Evening

Speaker 3: John Inglis Evaluator: Frank Elmes Title: “Folderol.” This was a speech with a difference. Giving us an example and put into action of word mapping. John handed out a sheet of paper with 105 questions, each of a different topic, for each member present to make a choice as a title for a speech. Then we had to write 3 subjects which would tie into the title. All these sheets were collected and he asked for the 3rd sheet from the bottom of the pile and hand him the sheet. The title on that sheet was no. 68 “Has the Human Race Improved?” The 3 subjects to tie it all together were 1 Love, 2 Allowing one to Be, 3 Acceptance. John did a brilliant speech regarding drawing the 3 subjects into a speech on question 68 “Has the Human Race Improved. * * *

Speaker 2: Brian Paull Evaluator Reg Stewart Title: “Inspiring can be An every day action.” Being inspiring can be an every day action. When meeting someone ask ‘What has been the best thing that has happened to you today?’ The energy of Inspiration cannot be explained. Many have inspired us with the things they do. Dyson said “We solve Problems that others ignore.” Puegot Cars. Bob Beeman a Human Flying. J.F.K said We will put a man on the moon and bring him back safely. So, just ask yourself “Whose life can I change for the better today? Bourke Gibbons has lived his life in a wheelchair and is an Inspiration to us all. He was born with quadriplegia & cerebral palsy, not only survived the ordeal and fought his way to independence. He went and represented Australia in the Paralympics. Let’s Make the World a Better Place. * * * was born *8888888w* * *ith quadriplegia w8 8 8JJJUUGGho was born with quadriplegia and spastic cerebral palsy, not only survived the ordeal and fought his way to independence but went on to represent Australia in the Paralympics and spastic cerebral palsy, not only survived the ordeal and fought his way to independence but went on to represent Australia in the Paralympics
