CHEF JON BONNELL TO OPEN SEAFOOD-INSPIRED RESTAURANT AT WEST 7TH

FORT WORTH, Texas (August 31, 2012) – The developers of West 7th today announced that Chef Jon Bonnell of Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine will open Waters, Bonnell’s Fine Coastal Cuisine within the mixed-use development early next year. The menu at Waters will feature something for all Bonnell fans, but with a decidedly seafood focus. Never sacrificing quality, Bonnell will source the freshest available, sustainable and eco-friendly seafood from the waters of the world. Waters will host a lively bar, as Bonnell describes it, a “Fort Worth Fancy” atmosphere and a raw bar. Fans of Bonnell’s current restaurant should expect his famed Oyster Shooters to be served at Waters. “I’m very excited about this new restaurant. Seafood has always been a personal favorite of mine and I feel the Fort Worth dining scene has a place for fine, upscale seafood with Texas flair,” Bonnell said. The 7,775-square-foot restaurant will be located at the southwest corner of Crockett and Currie Streets beside Teskey’s Uptown. The new restaurant at 2901 Crockett Street is slated to open in February 2013. “With the success of Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine, we anticipate a great reception for Chef Bonnell’s newest venture at West 7th,” stated Michael Wheat, executive vice president and director of leasing for Cypress Equities, the developer of West 7th. “The offerings of Waters will be a tremendous complement to the existing dining options within the West 7th development.” The team of Rodger Chieffalo of Chieffalo Realty plus Frank Bullock and Carey Shagets of SRS Real Estate Partners represented the landlord, while attorney Jack Larson represented the merchant. West 7th is a strategic blend of pedestrian-friendly urban elements positioned in a mixed-use community offering retail, entertainment, office and residential. The 13-acre development is located on 7th Street and University Drive near the Fort Worth business and cultural districts. Its retail and office components are being developed by a Cypress Equities company* and the residential component by Columbus Realty Partners, LTD.
