This Order (Disorder): On View NowIn This Order (Disorder), on view through August at Chelsea Market, artists May Lin Le Goff and Chris Soria explore the realm of assemblage using collage and photomontage.

Artists May Lin Le Goff and Chris Soria both find order in the noisy disorder of the digital age through the art

of collage.

Le Goff (right) is interested in deconstructing and displacing conventional fashion photography, fracturing traditional studio shots into dynamic photo-sculptures. Her work displays an acute sense of color and composition. Soria (left) collages thousands of photographs to rebuild fallen

complexes in a series of time-laping documentary works. His montages chronicle the decay of abandoned factories and explore the transformation of neglected industry, leaving the viewer with the sense that everything —all times, all seasons—is happening at once, that everything— including the present moment—is a record of what is past.

See these extraordinary works at Chelsea Market through August 2013. More info at chelseamarket.com.

As summer settles in and my travel schedule heats up, I'm pleasantly reminded of how a bit of warm weather

brings out the best in many American towns.

With recent visits to creative communities such as San Luis Obispo, CA, a place that has quite impressively been deemed the happiest and friendliest city in the country, and Chattanooga, TN, Outside Magazine’s Best Town Ever, and home to where I learned to row, I’ve found energizing rec-reation at every turn. Even big cities are going back to nature. Ponce City Market in Atlanta, GA is creating organic rooftop gardens, outdoor amusements and serving as a link to dynamic neighbor-hoods with the new BeltLine, a network of public parks, multi-use trails and transit. When I’m not feeling like a rugged, outdoor excursion this summer (which, let’s face it, is often) I can only hope to be found in Charleston, SC, drink in hand, poolside at the new premier swim and social center, Mixson Bath & Racquet Club. What’s my next adventure? I just signed up for sailing les-sons to begin this fall on the Hudson River in NYC, near my home office at Jamestown’s Chelsea Market. For more information, visit JamestownLP.com

Out and AboutMan-about-town George Krauth dishes on the fashions, flavors, designs and décor he discovers as he travels the globe tracking trends in his capacity as VP of Creative and Marketing for Jamestown.

San Luis Obispo, California—the happiest city in the U.S.
